She also uses the more masculine "Boku" refer to herself. Kami-sama, or also known as Kamille. Is a girl that looks 12 but is a G.o.d. Has silver hair and red eyes. Gave Fari, Exscolibur Father is Gilbert Von D'azell. Master warrior. Rigurett Beuze Crausus or simply Rig: She is 14 Long blond silky hair, blue eyes. Uses 2 bayonet guns, and is really good at magic, four attribute magic. She actually speaks polite and proper, but that's hard to translate. Anne Cowlman: Half human half cat-girl. Has a normal human face with short brown hair but with cat ears and red cat like eyes, then has fur from the points of her hands, legs, and chest. Fur is striped with light brown on her brown fur, her tail has the same pattern. They are students of St. Valeria's Royal Hunter's Academy. Also Lilina is a magic's teacher. Rig, Onee-sama, Anne-chan, and I quickly became friends.

Well I guess I was already friends with Onee-sama?

My Onee-sama brought unexpectedly serious voice.

"First of all, I already told Ann my secret ident.i.ty. It's natural for me to do that, because she is my roommate."

Rig showed some hesitation.

I don't understand my Onee-sama's intentions, but I can understand the feeling.

However I did just meet Anne-chan.

"Rigurett-sama and I have shared our secret already. And Ann and I have also shared our secrets. So, Rigurett-sama, I do believe Ann is a trustworthy person."

"That isn't why. It's about why should we?"

"That's simple. If Rigurett-sama and I already shared our secrets. It may leak to Ann, because we share the same room. So it would just be better to remove the mystery and tell them in advance. Or else they may just a.s.sume things."

"I guess that does have it's merit."

Rig whispered that, she seems to be a little convinced.

"But, what are the actual benefit to Quellsan, Anne-san, and Fari for sharing their secrets?"

"Actually, the three of us have a common problem."

My Onee-sama then looked at Anne-chan and I.

What's our common problem? What's my problem? I can't remember what that is.

"Because unlike Rigurett-sama, we have to earn our living expenses."

Oh yeaaahh.

That's right, I'm not getting any monetary a.s.sistance from Papa.

Our admission fees are subsidized by the government, and dormitory fees are free.

The cafeteria is also pretty affordable, but we still need to pay.

Also I don't know which equipment we may need to use in cla.s.s, and I have to cover my own personal equipment and household items.

"So, I've been thinking that we should register as hunters at the Hunter's Guild to earn our livings. As student hunters."

My Onee-sama's words got me thinking.

"However it's a little risky for a hunter to go out alone, so my plan is for us to form a hunter team. So to strengthen our bond I think it's better for us to share our pasts."

"I see, that makes sense."

Rig said under her breath. Also it was decided that I was going to join already.

"So in other words, Quellsan and Anne-san originally intended to form a team. However then the unusual event of Fari's admission along with me being here happened. And to lower the risk and increase your efficiency it would be best to  work together. Is that right?"

"That is correct. However I'm not going to force you to share your secrets, but if we are to work as a team, trust is important."

". . .Well, it would be more c.u.mbersome to keep it a secret, just for it to be found out later on anyways."

She said that in a low voice. I guess she is convinced.

"Okay. However me telling you is up to Fari."

"Me?"

I tilted my head.

"If Fari has to make a living, then as your roommate and your friend, I will help."

Rig truly is my best friend.

"So in short, I have no problem with joining a team. However it depends on if Fari wants to form a team with Quellsan and Ann- -"

"I want to join! I want more friends!"

". . .sigh* Well, as I thought. Quellsan I a.s.sume you know my answer."

"I understand Rigurett-sama."

Then my Onee-sama thanked with a bow Rig.

"Now it's time to share our secrets."

Chapter 70: Anne Cowlman's secret.

We began the honesty event.

First was Rig. She talked about her home, her circ.u.mstances, and why she is attending this school.

Anne-chan was really surprised to hear that Rig was part of the Royal family, but Onee-sama and I were able to calm her down.

Next was me. I talked about myself and status. Pretty much the same as I explained to Rig and my Onee-sama. Obviously, I didn't mention the reincarnation. 

When it became necessary. Kami-sama came out.

Apparently she disappeared as soon as the conversation got boring to her.

Well she also disappeared once Anne-chan started to freak out. Until she eventually calmed down.

So far, Anne-chan understands mine and Rig's secrets. So now it's finally time for Anne-chan to reveal hers.

"Well, my name is Anne Cowlman. I wonder if any of you have heard the Cowlman name before?"

"Umm, I don't know. . ."

"Nyahuu. . .Well how about Rig-chan?"

". . .Perhaps, it's one of the most prominent firms, the Cowlman Company?"

"Nyes!"

Anne-chan was really happy the Rig knew.

"In fact, I am the daughter of George Cowlman. The current chairman of the Cowlman Company. Nyah."

"So you are a daughter of a very wealthy merchant? That's a pretty good social status."

Because of their money, if you become a merchant head of a powerful company, you may have more power than a poorer n.o.blemen.

If you have a leading trading status, especially in the capital. Then you should have a considerable amount of power.

". . .However it is a little suspicious."

"Hmm? Rig, how so?"

"If you become a chairman your entire appearance becomes the brand. Among commoners, it's pretty normal to marry people from sub-races, a mix races are common. However, among some there is still deep rooted racism towards beast people. That being said. . .for a chairman to take a beast-woman wife would be a hot topic. However I never heard about anything like that happening. . ."

"Nyah, that's right."

Anne-chan said that like it was nothing.

"Actually, my father keeps several beast women as pets, nyah."

A bomb was dropped.

Rig disgust for the situation was obvious.

"That's illegal."

"It's as simple as giving large donations to poorer towns, and the wide admiration for him plus power, removes any objections to this practice. So there doesn't seem to be a problem, nyah."

I feel like I was just launched into an adult world.

"So, I know that I am a daughter of my father and one of the beast women he bought. Nyah."

"I see, so you also have a complicated birth."

Rig seemed sympathetic with Anne.

They are in different social positions, but suffer from a chaotic and confusing birthplace.

There are some things that they can relate with.

"Well, fortunately, my father is neither a racist or an extreme pervert. My mother was cherished for a long time, and all of the other beast women are treated very well. However. . .my father only likes full beast women."

Anne-chan gave us another hard hitting truth.

"For the time being, I was able to pa.s.s the hunter's registration with my father's recommendation. However I had a true reason to come here, nyah. . ."

I couldn't help but urge her own.

"Because I could live rent free, Nyah!"

Rig complained, however I can understand Anne-chan's feelings.

Rent free.

That's such a dream come true.

It's an unbearably attractive dream for those who have experienced poverty.

Now that my memories of my past life as a poor 24-year old college student was recovered. I can't help but sympathize.

Because of rent, food expenses were strained. There were many days were I lived off of thin rice porridge and salt.

"- – -Now then, everybody knows each others secret."

My Onee-sama cut through the dead air and brought us back to the story.

"Let's talk more about this later tomorrow morning."

We all nodded to that proposition.

Chapter 71: Rigurett's Hidden Truth.

After that, Rig and I began walking together towards our room.

"- – -Haa, today was an exhausting day."

Rig sighed.

"Is that so?"

"I mean. Fair had a duel with Quellsan. Then suddenly we are teaming up for the Hunter's Guild. Then I met two people with a complicated situation. . . and then there was Anne-san. . ."

"???What about Anne-san?"

I wonder why Rig said that last part under her breath.

". . .It was nothing!"

Rig said that in a more expressive tone, and turned her face away from me.

"Ah! Rig is already keeping secrets from me!"

"Eh!? N-no that's not true. . ."

I need to know what's up, especially seeing as we will start cla.s.ses soon.

"So, what is it? Why is Rig mad at Anne-chan?"

I looked at Rig and said that in a hushed voice.

She gave a slight sigh, and then started to talk slowly with a small voice.

". . .Fari like girls like that, right?"

"Yeah?"

I simply tilted my head and responded to those unexpected words.

"That's why! Fari likes girls she can mofu mofu, and fluff fluff, right!?"

"Umm, I guess you can say that. . ."

"I see. . .Haah."

Rig gave a large depressed sigh.

". . .Well. Fari, you don't need to worry."

"No no. I'm really worried. Why do you care about the type of girls I like?"

" There is no real meaning. Yeah. . .I'm just a little disappointed."

"Disappointed?"

". . .Well, part of me wished to monopolize Fari."

Doki*

My heart is beating faster.

What is it with Rig? Is she an angel?

Isn't she just too cute? Also too nice?

"Haa~~. . ."

I couldn't hold in my sigh.

Of course I'm really happy. I can't help but feel b.u.t.terflies in my stomach.

"Um, Fari? Did I perhaps say something I shouldn't have?"

Rig is fl.u.s.tered and confused.

". . .Rig you are absolutely my best friend."

"Ehh? Why are you suddenly saying that now!?"

"It's true. Rig is number one in my books. It's impossible to replace you."

I leaned into Rig, wrapping my arms around hers. Just like a spoiled child.

"I want to go to the room like this."

"H-hey wait a second Fari? We are still in the hallway, do you really want people. . .to see you acting like a spoiled child?"

"I don't care~"

After that we returned to our room while I continued to act like spoiled.

TN here. The eroticism seems to be calming down. Now we are back to the plot. And a darker side of the world.

I don't have much to say here, but Fari and Rig's relations.h.i.+p is developing really fast. I know it's pretty much been 70 chapters, but in story context. It's been like 2 days. I guess it just comes down to their interactions though. I can give the author some props with everybody just being honest and laying out their feelings. That isn't something that happens a lot in novels. Even offline ones.

However now I'm curious to what the possible b.u.mps will be in the future for them, seeing as the clique one is out of the way. Will something happen with the religion and lore of a past hero, and demon king? Will it just be about school life? Or perhaps these five's relations.h.i.+ps with each other. Adventuring at the guild? We'll just have to see how the author plays this out. Hopefully it's entertaining and a fun read.
