Chapter 4: If I Reincarnate, My Status Should Remain the Same!

“In the case of reincarnation, I just need to optimize and transfer Yukiho-san's exact data to the new world. It's nothing particularly difficult. You don't have to do anything."

That's a relief.

I don't have to do the stereotypical get killed by a truck to get reincarnated.

So now I only have one more question.

"Umm, G.o.d? If you transfer me to another world, do I get some kind of advantage or collateral?"

That's a staple of reincarnation stories.

For the main character in a game or something. They become the hero with a harem, all the girls love him. Or just the standard cheat abilities.

I wonder if that's an actual thing.

"Yes, of course."

She gave me a nod.

"Because you are reincarnating to another world, I want you to enjoy it. If Yukiho-san dies simply it would be boring. And because of that, I'll give Yukiho-san as much power as you want."

"Anything I want?"

"Yes. So then, what kind of power do you want? Want to be the strongest in the world? Charm any girl you come across? Or a new self, that combines wealth, influence and beauty?"

G.o.d told me I could ask for anything I want.

Well, certainly it is a bit appealing to have all that power, but I don't need them.

Well not to say I already have everything or I'm just very arrogant.

I'm just a clumsy 24 year old college student who's been repeating years.

However I don't really want anything, I'm just content with who I am.

"If you are going to reincarnate me, please leave my status as it is."

After I said that, G.o.d had a baffled expression.

"Eh!? Yukiho-san. . .You want to, stay the same!?"

"Yeah. You don't need to go through the trouble of it."

G.o.d was simply scratching her head.

"Huh. . . That's pretty unexpected. May I ask why?"

"Well, I just don't really want anything right now. Honestly I just don't really like getting into trouble. . .If I'm able to, I just want to live in peace and happiness."

"I-I see. As one would expect from somebody I am interested it. Although what you said exceeded my expectation."

G.o.d was feigning her calmness.

I could see sweat coming from her forehead. I think she is truly troubled.

If she fully accepts my request, the whole purpose for her doing this would be lost.

If she fixes up my scenario and just follows my wish, then nothing extraordinary would really happen. Even if I still have my weird way of talking.

So I don't think that request could be met.

In fact, G.o.d seems to be deep in thought. Surely she is thinking about a way to deny my request.

–    – However.

Suddenly G.o.d gave me a dirty smile.

". . .Fufufu,  I see. I'll give you a hand."

"W-what's wrong?"

"Yes. So let me confirm Yukiho-san's request one again. So your wish for your ability is to be able to live in peace and happiness. And for that reason you don't want your status to change in your reincarnation?"

"That's right. Although if it's possible, I would like if you could improve my inner problem with causing trouble."

"Understood. I'll do as much as I could to fulfill that request!"

It seems like G.o.d really is generous.

Maybe my wish will be heard.

By the way, even at this point. I don't really believe in what G.o.d is saying.

After all, it's just a girl saying weird things in front of me.

There is no evidence that she is a G.o.d.

"Well then Yukiho-san. I'm going to get to work on the reincarnation. Thank you for your time today. Next time you'll see me, isssss,  Well let's say a decade since Yukiho-san's reincarnation. At that time, I'll make some adjustments so your memories of Yukiho-san return."

G.o.d said that and then stood up.

Suddenly I got really tired.

It's hard to resist this sleepiness, I easily collapsed.

On the verge of losing consciousness, the last thing I saw was the smiling face of G.o.d.

I was a little late, but I was busy yesterday so sorry for that.

I'll work on that so we actually see what the story is outside of the prologue.

Next chapter in 1-2 days, probably 2 because I like to take my time.
