Bakit heard a voice inside his head.
"Ah, Blue, it's you. I didn't think you would respond after you ended up shattering."
"My core is implanted within your body, so, even if the crystals I generate shatter away, I will still be here"
"That is good to know. As for your question, yes, we are escaping this place"
"Wouldn't your friends worry for you?"
"As far as I am concerned, Meros works for Sala, he cannot be trusted. I already left a secret letter to Desti; I instructed her to burn it after reading it. Rolgo is just a temporary employer… And the Sword Lord, my teacher approved of my idea, so there is nothing to worry about. "
"What about what the Rondeleia guy?"
"Her, you mean?! She is completely worthless. I am not going to stand here and end up being sent to the frontlines by the will of that cross dressing pervert! The other candidates for the throne have much better chances of succeeding than her, so she can go to h.e.l.l!"
Bakit already gathered everything he needed for the trip. He even paid a visit to Rolgo, who ended up giving Bakit many magic rings to test out while he wouldn't be inside the city. Bakit promised to report how effective each one was after he came back.
Under the cover of the night, he ended up crossing the border of the city, exiting it in the process.
He exited the city of Aina and was heading towards the neighboring city of Loren, where he would register as an adventurer.
According to the map he got from Desti, the city of Loren was about three days on foot from Aina.
But with Bakit's stamina, he was confident he could get there with no problem.
However, after walking for a few miles, he saw someone in front of him.
"I thought I would find you here"
It was an elven maid by the name of Aurelia, Sala's personal servant. From what it looked like, Bakit guessed she went ahead of him in order to catch him.
While he thought that he managed to sneak away without attracting any unwanted attention, it seems like he forgot to take Aurelia into account.
"What you doing here, Aurelia?"
"I can ask you the same thing, Bakit. Why have you abandoned the city? You are Sala's loyal dog, so act like one"
"Aurelia, the only one who is a loyal dog to him is you. I am done serving him. So if you will excuse me…."
Aurelia proceeded to brandish her ax, blocking Bakit's way.
"You shall go no further. By the name of Sala Rondeleia, I order you to turn back!"
"I refuse"
Aurelia's face betrayed her surprise. Due to the contract Sala made with Bakit, he should have submitted to Aurelia's command as soon as she uttered Sala's name, but instead, Bakit ended up disregarding the contract placed upon his soul.
"You are not allowed to leave. I can't have you jeopardizing Sala's candidacy!"
If Bakit were to tell everyone that Sala was actually a woman, she would lose any chance of taking the throne.
"I personally don't give a d.a.m.n about her. She can ruin herself all she wants for all I care."
"Then I take you have betrayed Sala. In that case, the only future that awaits you is death!"
"Uhhh, you couldn't just get out of my way, could you? What a stubborn piece of work you are."
"This is your last chance, turn back now or face your doom!"
"I think I will take the third option. Aurelia, honestly….I am tired listening to your voice."
Bakit brandished his wooden sword.
"Die!" Aurelia brought down her ax upon Bakit, who proceeded to dodge it, and with a smooth movement, he proceeded to shatter her ax into pieces with a single hit of his wooden sword.
"But how…."
"I have waited for so long to do this" Bakit muttered.
In an instant, Aurelia found herself hit in the abdomen by Bakit's wooden sword; she felt the taste of blood in her mouth.
With a mighty swing of his wooden sword, he hit her across the face, sending her flying through the air and hitting the tree.
Apparently she hit the tree so hard that her head started to bleed. The blood was streaming down her face.
Seeing his opponent sprawled on the bottom of the tree, with her head bleeding, Bakit noticed that she was no longer moving.
"Did you…" Blue's voice sounded a little worried.
"No, she still has pulse. She just lost consciousness. It might take some time, but she should be fine….but it will give us enough time to escape without leaving a trace."
It was a good thing that a whack to the head made Aurelia lose her consciousness. If continued fighting, Bakit would have had no choice but to kill her. But like this, he could just disappear into nothingness. After she would wake up, it would be too late to chase after him.
With confident steps, Bakit proceeded to head towards the city of Loren. What he did not realize was the fact that these roads were frequently used by slave traffickers, so by leaving Aurelia unconscious, he left them a perfect elf specimen to capture and sell.
