Chapter 667 Scalpel

Jephas stared at Ambriel, who had so rudely pushed Eisen to the side. Immediately, the Angel threw themselves down onto their knee and lowered their head at the same time, "I apologize for that imbecile's rudeness, oh honourable Je-"

"Who do you think you are?" Jephas asked with a deep glare directed at Ambriel, who slowly widened their eyes in surprise after being interrupted. But Jephas didn't care anymore. She simply stepped past Ambriel and made her way over toward Eisen to finally shake his hand now.

"Sorry about that, some Angels are just a bit more extreme than others." She pointed out as Eisen nodded his head, "Well, that's fairly accurate. But there's no reason for you to apologize, I've had to deal with Ambriel for a while now. I think I've p.i.s.sed them off personally. But I'll be dealing with it soon, so don't worry." Eisen explained with a deep sigh and a glare directed at the Angel standing next to him.

Once the two of them greeted each other and Ambriel backed down a little after practically having Jephas command them to, Eisen looked past the lesser G.o.ddess at her personal forge. With glittering eyes, he stared at the glowing ambers inside of it, and immediately looked at Jephas excitedly, "May I?" He inquired, and Jephas slowly turned around to see what Eisen was looking at, and when she realized that he meant her forge, she quickly turned back around, "Oh, of course! Go ahead! I have to finish this hammer up with the handle that Dirmon made for me."

"Hm... Interesting. What exactly is this hammer for?" Eisen asked as he looked at the hammer-head that was just sitting there, slowly cooling down next to the large handle that Jephas seemed to be speaking about. And from the size of that handle, Eisen judged that this really was a hammer meant for crafting, "Oh, nothing special, just a fun little project. And of course, it's a replacement hammer in case mine ever breaks." She pointed out.

"And it seems like you and the other lesser G.o.ds really help each other out. I've been heading through a couple divine realms now, and in the few that I've been, the lesser deities never really interacted with each other that much. Some really seemed to dislike each other to an extent." The old man explained. Jephas immediately shook her head, however.

"It'd be rather troublesome if we didn't interact with each other, right?" She laughed loudly, "I'm only good for metal-work, and the others are only really good for their one specific area of expertise as well. We've got to collaborate as much as possible. A lot of the time I'm actually makin' tools for the others to use, or stuff like nails or buckles."

"That's an interesting dynamic... Do you have a way to get all these items to each other easily?" The old man asked, and Jephas slightly laughed as she pointed at one of the angels standing at the side of this workshop. These particular ones were covered in soot and had metallic wings. Some of them were actually working on some items themselves, as far as Eisen could tell, "We've got a number of private angels. They usually transport them for us if we don't have time to go to the others ourselves at any given time."

"Well, that's pretty useful then." Eisen pointed out with a light smile on his face, "Then I guess I'll finish all the metal bits that I need to over here."

Dedicated to get to work and make some amazing items here in this divine realm of his dreams, the old man quickly approached the actual main workstation, meaning the forge, the anvil, the barrel of oil to use to cool the metal rapidly. None of these things had any sort of special gimmicks on them. They were simply normal, like something that Eisen would use in his day-to-day live. But somehow, whether it was the divine energy that was basically an essence of craftsmans.h.i.+p seeping through it, or just because it's been a while since Eisen has seen a proper forge that has such heavy signs of use, this sight was just beautiful.

Of course, many would think that signs of use on anything were actually a bad thing, but that's not the case at all. After all, this workstation wasn't broken or unusable, it simply had a few scratches, nicks, and blemishes on it that came from this place being heavily used.

It was a place that was filled with pa.s.sion and love for the craft, and that was the main reason why Eisen was honored to be able to work here. That this was the workstation of a literal deity added onto that honor, of course.

With a broad smile, Eisen ran his fingers over every part of this workstation and then swiftly waved his hand to the side. He summoned his Item Storage, his elemental spirit, and of course Bai, so that Eisen could immediately get to work.

"Let's start simple. Get me some steel." The old man said as he threw Bai into the air for a moment and quickly cracked his knuckles to loosen his hands up a bit, and then quickly caught the Ego Mult.i.tool just a moment later. At that time, Eisen's elemental spirit already placed the steel into the forge, at which point Eisen realized that he couldn't get started just yet and actually had to wait for a little while.

So, instead, he just stood there with his hand on the elemental spirit's head to pat it a bit. After all, the elemental spirit right now was kind of like a juvenile version of Eisen's demonic transformation, and since it was a little child-like, or rather more like a bare pre-teen at this point, it was a good target for head-pats right now.

And so, for a few more minutes, Eisen kept waiting like this. And once the steel started to glow in a bright yellow due to its temperature, the old man quickly activated his 'Crafter's Realm' skill and quickly moved the metal out of the forge immediately as a replacement for his tongs. This was something that Eisen noticed he could do now that his occupation had updated to 'G.o.dly Craftsman' and pulled all the occupation skills with it. Instead of only tools, Eisen was also able to use something like telekinesis on different materials.

That meant that he could basically just craft things without moving a step using this skill, but that was no fun in the end.

And so, the old man got started. He held the steel down onto the anvil and proceeded to swing Bai in its hammer-form down onto it. The moment that Eisen felt that satisfying resistance, a s.h.i.+ver of joy ran through his body like a wave.

He stared down at the metal and continued to swing his hammer down onto it, shaping the metal to his will. For now, Eisen chose to just make something rather simple, and something that he could make without needing any material other than metal. And that was just a very simple, extremely thin knife that Eisen may be able to use to cut details out of leather more easily, or to cut through single threads on cloth as well.

Bai's knife was great, but it was a bit thick for these sorts of things, so even if the mult.i.tool always complained quite heavily whenever he did so, the old man had to resort to using other tools than just Bai itself.

This would basically be just like a scalpel in the scale of the blade, but it would definitely come in useful either way. Eisen formed the small blade and then just snapped off the excess metal from it, before placing it at the side of the forge so that it wouldn't cool down immediately so that he could use it for something else in a bit.

The old man used Bai to shape the small blade properly, even shrinking himself down so that he could get the details down properly. And then when he was done with the raw forging, Eisen simply walked over toward the grinding wheels and gave the scalpel-like blade a proper edge, before using a whestone to finish it up.

And with a satisfied smile, Eisen finished this simple item.

[Scalpel]

[Rank – 6][Quality – Perfect]

[Description] A Scalpel made by the G.o.dly Craftsmaster Eisen. It is made completely of steel and has no special properties. The Divine Energies of the G.o.d of Craftsmans.h.i.+p's realm have seeped into this blade and empowered its crafting properties, however.

[Effect] u003cSuperior Absorbabilityu003e Trait, u003cG.o.d of Craftsmans.h.i.+p's Holy Aurau003e Trait

[Requirements] u003cOriginal of the Mechanical Artsu003e t.i.tle

Jephas' eyes seemed to glitter for a moment and Eisen could feel something like 'extended gooseb.u.mps', as he called the feeling he got when someone inspected an item he was holding or wearing specifically, and the lesser G.o.ddess looked at Eisen a bit surprised immediately after.

"You did not make it give you any sort of improvement for your Statistics?" She asked, "And what is this 'Superior Absorbability'? Do you want to improve onto this Scalpel some more?"

Eisen looked at her and instantly shook his head with a laugh, "Of course not. I wouldn't have just made it from steel then. No, for one, this was to get a part of the quest I was given by Silmos out of the way. And beside that, this Scalpel is really just a small snack." The old man explained as he dangled the scalpel over his mult.i.tool with the blade facing downward.

Just a moment later, a crack appeared on the surface of the hammer, before it just ripped open even more. And then, the hammer grew a mouth with sharp teeth and a long, metallic white tongue as Bai partially transformed its body.

Eisen let go of the scalpel and Bai caught it with its tongue before pulling it into its mouth while Eisen tried to use another one of his skills on the mult.i.tool for an improved effect. And after a few crunches and scratches caused by the sound of metal crus.h.i.+ng up metal, Bai swallowed the scalpel. Immediately, Eisen raised his brows excitedly.

"Ah, finally! It worked!" He exclaimed, and Jephas watched curiously as Eisen suddenly told Bai to transform into another form. Soon, it had turned into its regular knife form. At this point, the transformation had become quite different, as Eisen didn't need to take any parts off but they were just stored inside of Bai itself. So it was really like Bai was just s.h.i.+fting between different states rather than being a modular tool.

And now, the whole blade that Eisen was holding compressed down and changed its shape, before he was holding a scalpel in his hand. The exact same one that Eisen just fed to Bai.

"Jephas, I hope you don't mind if I make a few more tools here."
