Chapter 749 - The Mountain-Splitting Blade

The audience continued to applaud after Argon's win. It was a lot more straightforward compared to some of the other fights that happened today, but that didn't change the fact that it was an undeniably exciting duel.

"Now, there's only one duel left before the two of us meet in the arena." Eisen pointed out, turning his head toward the Grandour. His face had become pale, and he was silently staring into the arena.

"Grandfather. I will be heading down there now." Kiron said with a determined expression, as he was carried into the arena by one of the giants. Of course, this was the fight that Eisen was most confident in. Kiron was one of the strongest people he knew. There was no way he was going to lose a fight, even if it was one against the Grandour's own strongest knight.

The two of them stepped into the arena, and Kiron drank the gigantification potion. The slightly thick liquid flowed down his throat, and his body grew in size. With his body as large as it was a few moments later, it sort of felt like Kiron was a true crystal dragon. With a light smile, Kiron brandished his sword, pressing the tip into the ground as he waited for his opponent to get ready.

"Your 'grandson', as you claim, against my son." The Grandour said, "I wonder who will win this." He muttered, and Eisen raised his brow surprised. Rather than something said sarcastically to try and mess with him, the Grandour seemed to be genuinely unsure who would win. Clearly, he was confident in his child's ability, but after everything that had happened today, that confidence wavered.

"We will see. Either way, this one won't end too quickly, it seems." Eisen pointed out. Looking at the Grandour's son, he was a similar swordsman to Kiron. He wielded a giant greatsword, and most likely used the Mountain-Splitting Blade, the same one that Khan had taught, or at least tried to teach, to the Grandour. According to Khan, the Grandour used a b.a.s.t.a.r.dized version, so his son wouldn't be using the true mountain-splitting blade either. Soon, the bell to start the fight was rung, and everyone intensely watched the fight.

Both swordsmen rushed at each other, swinging their swords for the first initial clash. Both of them had filled their blades with ma.s.sive amounts of mana, and used all they had in their a.r.s.enal to pull everything they could out of this single moment, as if they both wanted to end the fight as soon as they could. The moment that the swords touched and sparks flew outward, a wave of pressure was sent outward that created a large cloud of dust that swallowed the whole arena.

Then, just a few seconds later, a sharp sound echoed out. It was the sound of metal snapping. One of the two swords wielded in the arena had been destroyed. Once the cloud of dust settled, it was clear that the winner was going to be decided. And then, they could see it. Kiron standing up proudly, his chest pushed forward, and behind him, the Grandour's son with a sword that had been snapped in half.

Immediately, the crowd cheered, knowing that Eisen's side had won one more time. But the only issue was that, sometimes, the thing you think you know for a fact is not the truth. Because a moment later, one of the two collapsed on the ground unconscious, and it was not the Grandour's son.

Kiron had fallen unconscious. It took a while for them to announce the fight as over, since it happened without anyone realizing it. Even the Grandour's son turned around surprised, his broken sword in hand.

Immediately, Eisen jumped up, staring into the arena, "That's... that's not possible." The old man said, followed by the loud laughter of the Grandour, "Hahaha, that's it! You lost!" He exclaimed, but he was interrupted by the sound of the carved stone railing in front of them shattering under Eisen's clenched fist.

"No, that is literally not possible. Kiron doesn't have any wounds." He pointed out bluntly, jumping into the arena. He rushed over to his grandson and flipped him over. As Eisen thought, not even Kiron's clothes had a single cut in them. The only way this would be possible was through a special elemenent that the Grandour's son possessed, but Eisen had been watching the flow of mana. And that's not what happened, one of the giant's mana entered Kiron's body. It pa.s.sed by him, sure, but it never entered him. It was impossible for Kiron to lose that much health through that single impact.

Eisen looked closer, and fully inspected his grandchild. His truth-seeing eyes had risen to the extent where Eisen could see more than just the direct status of another. Now, he could see things beyond that, noted down in a similar manner. And there was one thing that stuck out amongst the information.

---

[Physical Status – Poisoned]

---

The old man's eyes widened, and without a moment's hesitation, he started looking all over Kiron's body. It must be there somewhere. He focused his eyes as much as he could, trying to make sure he could see the slightest bit of damage. And then, there it was. Part of Kiron's clothes had been damaged, even if only to a minimal extent. Ripping open his grandson's s.h.i.+rt, Eisen searched his body, and soon found tiny droplets of blood on the half-dragon's back, right underneath one of his scales. The old man shrunk down, crawling down underneath the scale to look more closely at the wound. And then, there he found it. It was nothing but a small needle, but its tip had incredibly potent poison pouring out of it steadily. It seemed like there was some form of connection between the hollow s.p.a.ce inside the needle and the true container for the poison, allowing for enough of it to stream into Kiron that it would actually be able to injure him.

Eisen ground his teeth, quickly growing back to his largest size possible. Using a loud voice that would echo through the whole town, he exclaimed, "n.o.body will leave this place until I find the one who dared try and kill my grandchild!"

"What? He lost in a fight against my son, are you trying to say he attempted murder?"

"Of course not, your son didn't do this." Eisen replied to the Grandour without a moment's hesitation. He placed the tiny needle into the giant's hand, "Someone shot a specical poisoned needle at him. If I wasn't here, it might have gone unnoticed." The old man pointed out in a growling voice, before tightly grabbing onto Kiron's head, "Listen to me. I don't have enough antidotes with me to help you out right now, so you need to do one thing. Fuse your body with your element, and make your flames completely destroy the poison in your blood." He said, using as much of his power and influence he could, so that if even a tiniest bit of Kiron could hear him, he would listen. The old man repeated himself again and again, until finally, the half-dragon's body started to heat up.

His scales seemed like they were starting to glow, as he fused hismelf with his devouring flames. Using his truth seeing eyes, Eisen could see that Kiron's element was actually acting up against something within his body. It took a few minutes, but soon, they had devoured enough of the poison to let Kiron wake up, albeit in an incredibly weakened state. But at that point, Kiron could take conscious control of his flames to truly remove any last drop of poison inside of his body.

"Are you alright?" Eisen asked, and the half-dragon slowly nodded his head, "Yes, I am... I'm sorry, Grandfather, but... I lost, right?"

"No, you-"

"Yes, he did!" The grandour exclaimed, "This whole 'poison' thing is just an excuse, is it not?!"

Eisen ground his teeth as he stood up. He looked at the man standing in front of him, his whole being filled with anger, "My grandson was poisoned, who gives a s.h.i.+t about your measly pride? You want to keep acting like I'm not truly who I say I am? Fine. But before then, at least fight me. I have some stress to relieve."

The Grandour glared at Eisen angrily, "You think I would still fight you, after you accused us of poisoning him?"

"I didn't accuse you of anything. But fact is that someone here in the arena did."

"How do we know that you didn't just make this needle yourself, if y-" The grandour accused, but Eisen had enough of it. He pulled out his Demonic Sword, holding onto its grip tightly, "We are going to fight, right now."

The Grandour scoffed, and his men brought him anything he needed for a fight, since the items had already been prepared beforehand for this part of the event. Eisen quickly brought Kiron to a place where he could rest, and then looked at the others, "Clear out the east-western part of the arena. Just make them move, or something." The old man said, and they immediately got to work. The Grandour got ready, and was wearing thick armor while holding onto his sword.

Clicking his tongue, Eisen glared at the man in front of him, "So that's what he meant."

"Are you ready?" The Grandour asked, not having heard the old man just now. Of course, Eisen nodded his head. The bell was rung, and the arena was silent. Everything had happened so fast, and the pressure in this s.p.a.ce was making it impossible for anyone to cheer.

With confidence practically pouring out of his every orifice, the Grandour started to walk forward. Why was he so confident all of a sudden? Did he truly believe that Eisen poisoned Kiron, to make some kind of scene and stop the whole fight? Eisen was angry. Someone here tried to kill his grandson. The grandson of the king of another country. And they didn't even care? It was disgusting, utterly infuriating.

Eisen poured all of his emotions into his sword at that moment. He raised it up above his head, and in a single straight motion, slashed downward. The grandour was still quite a bit away, but that didn't matter. After all, this was the true mountain-splitting blade. It wasn't called this as an exaggeration. Khan had created this sword art and had earned this name for his techniques the moment a single slash of his blade split a small mountain in half.

In a straight line forward from Eisen's blade, nearly everything had split cleanly. The ground, the sword and armor of the Grandour, and even the whole rest of the arena. The only thing that was still intact was the Grandour's body itself. The giant dropped to his knees, realizing what just happened.. The Grandour stared up at Eisen, his face filled with nothing but fear.
