After finis.h.i.+ng greeting various businessmen, Fang Botao walked back with a wine gla.s.s in his hand, “As for Tang Zhan's two sons, the older one is quite steady but the younger one is way too reckless, he's not suitable for you.”
Feng Ping drank some wine, “It's not like I like him.”
Fang Botao lightly laughed, “Really? Then how come I feel like you're having an awfully fun time playing with him?”
Feng Ping's face turned red and pretended to be angry as she coughed dryly, “Uncle Fang—”
Fang Botao stopped laughing and pretended to speak sorrowfully, “Us elderly people like to gossip, don't blame me for meddling.”
Feng Ping laughed and then gave a sudden sigh, “Tang Jianan is a frivolous person, he's not good enough. But Uncle Fang, I haven't met anyone better yet.” Pausing a bit, she added another sentence on, “Besides, no one's perfect.”
Fang Botao also gave a deep sigh, “Aye, I really hope that you can be happy, but happiness is like a gla.s.s of water, aye…”
Feng Ping was unwilling to continue talking about her matters and took the opportunity to change topics, “Uncle Fang, I'm here to persuade you for Junhao.”
Fang Botao saw that she was quite honest and couldn't help but laugh, “I guessed as much. Hehe, that means that he's set on it this time? Why didn't he tell me himself/”
“He's always been a little afraid of you.”
“Am I very scary?” Fang Botao rubbed his chin, his face had a torn expression, “When he was little, I was the one who dressed up as Santa Claus one Christmas to give you guys candy.”
Feng Ping inserted, “The key point is Junhao thinks you're scary.”
Fang Botao had a long face, “That's because he always brought you and Bingchen and them to do dangerous things when you all were little…”
Feng Ping snorted, “If I remember right, it was clearly Bingchen and Junhao who wanted to ditch us, so we followed them.”
“No matter what, he's too naughty. It's my fault for not teaching him well.”
“You're too strict.” Feng Ping didn't hold back.
Fang Botao seriously replied, “The Fang family has always been loyal to the Feng family. Two hundred years of rules and traditions cannot be destroyed in my generation.”
Feng Ping sighed, “No wonder why Junhao said that you're a rock in a pit…”
Fang Botao glared at her, “That brat dared to say that about me?”
Feng Ping laughed, “Uncle Fang, the person breaking the rules is me. I support Junhao doing what he likes, plus the hotel's management organization has already been in place for such a long time, it'll be fine even if you hand it to someone else. It doesn't have to be Junhao.”
Fang Botao opened his mouth to say something but Feng Ping stopped him, “Uncle Fang, you're someone whose received a western education, how can you be so old-fas.h.i.+oned? While earning money is important, it shouldn't take priority over doing what one loves, otherwise what's the point of having all this money?”
“I can't break tradition. If the Fang family takes the lead in breaking tradition, then…”
“Fang Family still has Junyi, maybe she's interested in the hotel?”
“Her?” Fang Botao found Fang Junyi amidst the sea of people and let out a long sigh, “I've spoiled her too much.”
Following his gaze, Feng Ping saw Junyi's pretty face framed by her long curls, her doll-like eyes blinking. She looked very much like her mother. Then she noticed that she was decked out in clothes that were definitely worth several millions, indeed it was much more extravagant than she was at her age. As expected, the new generations always surpa.s.s the old. Hehe.”
Sweeping her gaze over the rest of the venue, she saw groups of older people and groups of younger people as they separated themselves quite clearly. The older groups usually consisted of married couples, those like her and Fang Botao were not many. There were not many people she recognized here. Zhou Xinzhu's male companion actually wasn't Han Yi but another man who was shorter than her by seven or eight centimeters. With them were Wu Nianzhen and Yu Manwen, both of them seemed to be quite anxious as they kept glancing towards Tang Jianan.
Speaking of that, Tang Jianan was accompanying Tang Mingxuan tonight because he had far too many girlfriends in the past, so it was inevitable that they would all b.u.mp into each other here, so it was safer to pick his younger sister as his companion. Sadly, not too long after entering, Xia Yao was the one who clung onto him and wouldn't let him go. Her manager pulled Tang Minxuan away spitting out compliments one out of another. His skills were truly top-notch as each sentence could make you feel good but not realize that he was trying to kiss up to you. Tang Minxuan was still quite young and couldn't reject all these compliments, so like this, the four people seemed to switch companions and Wu Nianzhena and Yu Manwen were quite unhappy.
Being stared at like this, Tang Jianan felt gooseb.u.mps rising up and after being angered by Feng Ping, he used the bathroom as an excuse to go calm down. Afterwards, he went over to the left balcony to get some air only to find that there were people already there.
The man said, “Are you angry? I'm very sorry.”
The woman was silent for a moment before speaking up, “I thought that there was finally an opportunity to film a commercial, only for it to turn out this way…”
The man hurriedly replied, “I will still pay you.”
The woman, “Mr. Fang, it's not all about the money…”
The man, “Then…?”
The womann paused and then spoke in a light tone, “Never mind, let's not talk about it.”
The man didn't speak and the surroundings became silent.
Tang Jianan realized that the man was Fang Junhao. His female companion was actually one he paid for, it was way too…囧(1). He's actually a golden bachelor? It was way too…囧.”
He was getting ready to leave when he heard the woman speak again, “That Feng xiaojie was quite adorable.”
That one sentence made Tang Jianan stay.
Fang Junhao gave a cold laugh, “Adorable? She's evil!”
Qiu Tian struggled to find a topic to break the silence only for Fang Junhao to give this sort of reaction, making her feel very embarra.s.sed.
Fang Junhao seemed to sense this as well and gave a dry cough before speaking in a more gentle tone to explain, “Aye, you don't know how evil she is. She already knew how to bully people when we were kids, I always had to take the blame for her…”
“Hm, you guys knew each other as kids?”
“I really wish that I never met her.” Fang Junghao spoke indignantly.
“Uh…then why did she say that she was your father's friend just now? I thought…” She didn't continue.
Fang Junhao knew what she was implying and gave a long sigh, “That's why I said she's evil. She'll probably die if she can't mess with people.”
Qiu Tian could only laugh, “Hehe, she's really beautiful.
Fang Junhao: “She depends on that face of hers to swindle people.”
Qiu Tian was speechless. How come this conversation became more and more awkward? She thought that she was a decent conversationalist, but how come she couldn't communicate with him at all?
Hearing this conversation, Tang Jianan seemed to have realized something.
He was right! As someone who had played with many flowers, he had never met someone as weird as her. What a weirdo. She messed with him just now, she must be feeling quite happy, right?
Tang Jianan's anger turned into a fighting spirit. If he didn't pay back this grudge, he was not a man.
(1) 囧: A slang character used by Chinese people that doesn't really have a meaning other than the fact that the character itself looks like a person's face that is embarra.s.sed.
