But Lyn wondered if she could do anything with the current situation. There are a lot of restrictions placed on her right now. A deep sigh crossed her lips. 'This won't be easy.' Besides, it isn't just Arthur. When it comes to anything regarding the Rain Kingdom, her gaze fell towards Rhys. It was something she discovered when she investigated him.

"Well, I will get out of your way." Kazuya turned to the window.

Lyn blinked when she heard those words. Is he trying to be considerate or something?

'So very foolish.' Her gaze fell on Rhys but realized that he was right beside her.

He buried his face in her neck. "So, what do you think we should do?"

If it is to do with the Rain Kingdom, the expert would be Arthur… But wait, does this mean that Arthur and Rhys are related to one another? She needs more information; unfortunately, Rhys is not the type of person who gives information easily.

"Say, Rhys.."

"Hmm?"

She wants to ask him if he lost his memories. Lyn was doubtful when she heard the reports about Rhys not remembering his ident.i.ty. After all, was he, not the one who suggested it to her? The idea of reincarnation. From the words, he said that time, he indicated that he was one of those people.

Somebody reincarnated and kept their memories. If that is the case, then he should know about it, shouldn't he? He should know that.

"You've always had a bad case of jealousy. Although you never expressed it properly." Lyn said. That's right before this person never used to express those feelings properly. That's why she's surprised each time whenever he mentions other men.

He doesn't hesitate to show it.

"That is something about you that has changed now. I wonder what's so different now."

"The reason is simple. Right now, you aren't mine."

She isn't as pure as Kazuya thinks she is.

She is probably so different than the image Pupillam, and the General have of her.

But Rhys knows that she is completely hopeless and empty. And she knows Rhys is an impossible man; she knows that fully well already. Yet she pulled him closer, their naked bodies pressed against each other, sending her whole world on fire.

"Lyn."

It really is strange. Though their worlds are so close together, it feels as though they are apart. As the tears streamed from her eyes, Rhys bends over and kisses them away.

It feels like there is still a distance despite being so close. Will they ever return to how they were before? Even if they go back to how they were used to, will it be alright? She can't help but be afraid, and yet she will still find herself facing it because she wants to be with him.

Right now, Rhys seems to be the only one to forgive her for everything. For all her sins and past mistakes. For all the mistakes she is making now. He is her one and only accomplice.

…..

When Rhys suggested they go somewhere and have fun. Lyn didn't think it would be a place like this. How come it is snowing here? Lyn looked around.

Despite the heavy snowfall, it has yet to turn into ice, so the snow is still smooth.

"It's beautiful, Rhys. It feels like we are in the boundary between two worlds."

"Yeah, I knew you'd like it when I was venturing out the other day after running errands for your brother. I stumbled upon such a place. Must be due to my charms."

She laughed lightly. "You do use whatever opportunity you can get to compliment yourself."

______

Even more than touching her, to spend moment's like her with this is something he prefers.

The only thing he wants is for her rest so comfortably in his hold like this, despite the cold. All he can feel is the warmth transmitting from her back. "When you take a look at this, you really can tell that it's winter."

"It wasn't so obvious back in the main town. But it is, that season already."

For the two of them, winter holds so many memories. Memories that connect them together; and memories that differ from each other. It was winter when he confessed to her.

Winter when she broke up with Kazuya and winter when that person left him to pursue her dreams. Winter contains fond and beautiful memories, as well as sad ones. Every time winter comes about, and he feels as though his feelings towards her continue to increase.

Every time winter comes around, it's a trial, a test of her heart and emotions.

Whether it's the situation with him or Kazuya, Rhys knew that she would settle all these problems during the winter.

 "Are you comfortable, Lyn?"

"Yes... Am I unfair right now?"

"Out of all the times, you ask that it's in this situation where I am barely touching you?" Aside from his arms that wrapped around her waist, he isn't touching her at all.

He wanted to do more, but he knew better than to destroy this peaceful moment with Lyn. Ever since she broke up with Kazuya, he took advantage of that to do unspeakable things with her. Before they came here, he was kissing her heavily.

Why did he do something like that? No, that wasn't the problem; it was the location.

"Perhaps that is why I am saying it now." Lyn trails off. She took a deep breath before continuing. "You know I probably won't ever directly tell you it's over. I'll probably never be able to say it's all finished and get you to move on. I am very bad at expressing my feelings; after all, even now, what I am about to say is going to sound wish-washy and half-hearted. But you will listen to me regardless, won't you Rhys?"

"Yeah," Rhys mumbled. He would listen to her no matter what

"The reason I agreed to attend these banquets is because of the conversation I had with Gabrielle. It was rather long and wordy, so I won't repeat everything she said. But I shall tell you what words. .h.i.t me the most. Not to feel guilty about my actions and not hold myself back anymore, to sing my feelings clearly. I wonder what it was, but after she said those words, I felt an emotional trigger. I suppose that's what you'd call my switch?

I want to convey my feelings. To let everyone here me, to let my voice reach the vast ends of the universe. Feelings that I cannot understand myself let alone hope others would understand."
