Joyce coughs with embarra.s.sment, and can’t help to get dirty thoughts, especially when it’s said by Bai Xiaoli. “It feels good” really causes others’ reverie, OK?

Cang Yan squints at Joyce. They have known each other for many years, so Cang Yan can see through his little ideas.

“Um…hha, today we have new members joining us. Tonight, let’s go to Tianjing Hotel to celebrate?” Joyce turns to another subject.

Hearing this, Bai Xiaoli thinks of immediately the delicious barbecue in Tianjing Hotel, blinking his doe-eyes with hope, like a little beast waiting his master to feed him.

Cang Yan: “…”

How can he say no?

Since last time Bai Xiaoli encounters Long Lan at Tianjing Hotel, Bai Xiaoli has never been there again to take a meal. In Long Lan’s words, he has to pay two persons’ expenses with his own pin money. What’s more, Bai Xiaoli is fond of eating and can’t bear one meal without meat; except meals, he also needs snacks, so it’s a huge cost to feed Bai Xiaoli. Now we can see, the previous “Young Lord Long Lan” already becomes a poor living frugally for raising Bai Xiaoli. 

At night, in the dinning box of Tianjing Hotel.    

Joyce drives Cang Yan, Rovell, Bai Xiaoli and Long Lan to the hotel, then goes to pick up Ainy, who is shopping in the down-town with her friends and hasn’t yet come back.

While waiting Joyce and Annie, Cang Yan keeps observing the interaction between Bai Xiaoli and Long Lan. Long Lan always cares for Bai Xiaoli like he is a child. When Long Lan goes to the bathroom, Cang Yan follows.

Getting out of the toilet, Long Lan finds Cang Yan standing beside the sink and he asks doubtfully: “Captain, are you waiting for me?”

“Yes.” Cang Yan replies, “I have something to ask you, about Bai Xiaoli.”

Long Lan becomes more curious, “Do you know him before? If not, how can you know that Xiaoli likes eating meat so much?”

This question is not easy to answer; he can’t say no, because Bai Xiaoli is his soul beast, but if he says yes, today it is just the first time they have meet each other.

“Kind of, can you tell me how you meet him?”

Long Lan smiles, “It’s a coincidence; it’s right here where I meet him.”

Then, Long Lan tells all those stories to Cang Yan about how he meets Bai Xiaoli in Tianjing Hotel, his guess about Bai’s memory loss, and his bittersweet experience of raising Bai Xiaoli as his son during one year and half, which have been hidden in his heart so long, but today he finally finds someone to tell.   

Cang Tan keeps listening quietly, blaming himself. Bai Xiaoli does not have memory loss, but doesn’t know how to live in the human society. He summons Bai to come here, but fails to take care of him. Cang Yan feels deeply guilty.

Long Lan met Bai Xiaoli one year and half ago which doesn’t correspond to the time when he summoned his soul beast, so, before meeting Long Lan, where has Bai Xiaoli been? How has he pa.s.sed that period? Has he spent so long time in the forest far from the city? “Now that you know each other, do you know where he lives? Does he have a family? Are they looking for Xiaoli? Even his ident.i.ty certificate is handled through some relation of my mother. I don’t know who he was, so that’s the only way.”

 “I should be his closest person. I have been looking for him, and I have never thought that he is with you. Long Lan, thank you for taking care of Xiaoli so long a time. I will remember your kindness.” Cang Yan appreciates sincerely.

Soul beast master’s life is connected with his soul beast.

Through practicing, human beings can get star mind, but the appearance of soul mind depends on providence and it can’t be reached through any practice.

Only the one possessing soul mind can be a soul beast master, wielding and refining soul mind, and summoning his soul beast. There is only one soul mind for each person. There is also only one chance during one’s life to summon his soul beast. There are two results only, break into the top or descent into the h.e.l.l.

Once summoning succeeds, the soul beast master and his soul beast will be integrated spiritually, they will share the star power together, and two figures are tied in one life. Since bonded with each other, one party’s death will bring to another party an inseparable harm—normally, two parties will die together. Even if one party survives by a fluke, the survivor will only suffer until death.  

Soul beast has various abilities which make them promote faster than human being, because people and his soul beast share together the star power. The soul beast is also referred as “stock of star power of the soul beast master”. The soul beast master and his soul beast ganging up in the battle, is called “The Strongest Coalition”.
