Aubriella spoke in an anger filled tone, "Young Man do you know what time of the day it is?"
Nathan gulped as he tried to sneak a look at the watch hanging on the wall, only for his father Tristan snap back at him, "Look at your mother when she is speaking."
Nathan gulped hard again as Aubriella spoke again, "I am waiting for your reply Nathan, and do you know what time is it?"
Nathan had an uneasy smile on his face as he spoke, "5:00 P.M.?"
Aubriella's eyes narrowed as her nostrils flared from anger as she spoke, "It is 3:00 A.M., I understand that you are busy as such you asked the maids to bring your food in your room but when I came to check upon do you know what I found."
Nathan slowly shook his head as Aubriella's glare intensified as she spoke pointing towards a certain direction, "Over there is your untouched breakfast, your lunch is over there and that is your dinner all of them are cold untouched and in certain cases spoiled, why are you not eating anything?"
Nathan gave an uneasy smile as he spoke, "I um I kind of forgot."
"YOU WHAT!!!!!", a storm seemed to swept past him as Tristan placed a comforting hand on his wife's shoulder as he spoke, "Love calm down your blood pressure is rising.", he then turned towards Nathan as he spoke with a sigh, "I woke them from their sleep and ordered them to make something for you and you better it this time."
Aubriella's glare did not lessen as she spoke, "He will after all I will feed him by my own hands."
Nathan turned red with embarra.s.sment as he spoke with indignation, "I can eat mom.", only to cower under the glare as Tristan placed his finger over his lips as he signaled Nathan to keep quite.
Aubriella suddenly turned towards her husband as she spoke in a rather sweet tone, "Is there something wrong dear."
Tristan violently shook his head negatively as he replied, "Nothing dear, I was about to go and check whether they had finished makings something.", with having said his part he left promptly.
Nathan's brow looked pleading towards his father only to look down hurriedly as his mother looked back at him as she spoke, "You are not old enough for me to bend you over my knees and spank you then how do you have the audacity to think I cannot feed you."
Nathan deflated at that before he was dragged to take a seat on his bed as his mother sat beside him as she spoke with a worried tone, "Nathan what are researching your entire room is overflowing with various papers?"
Nathan sighed as he spoke, "Mom, I have a quest to complete and the person who issued the quest forced me to accept it not to mention it was extremely dangerous and if I had not received help from certain NPCs I would failed the quest rather badly, now I am going to confront the quest giver about the completion of the quest and from what I have gathered with the help of others that I would be walking into a trap as such I am going over plans, maps as a means for strategizing the fallout of the meeting."
Aubriella frowned at that as she spoke, "Why is this NPC after your head?"
Nathan took a deep breath as he began speaking, "Well it all started with…."
As Tristan was bringing his son's dinner he met with a curious Maksim, "Is everything alright brother? I heard sister shouting."
Tristan sighed as he began, "My son was apparently so busy that he did not eat anything since morning, whatever was send to his room was untouched his mother caught him and is incredibly angry at him."
Maksim winced at that as he spoke, "Ouch, well I will not hold you any longer brother get that young man something to eat."
Tristan nodded towards him as he moved towards his son's room, he knocked before entering the room with a smile only to change into a frown, as both Aubriella and Nathan were peering over some doc.u.ments without a care of the world.
Tristan cleared his throat a few times which finally drew both Aubriella and Nathan's irritated glare as she spoke with a sigh, "What is it dear?"
Tristan held the tray carrying the food near his eye level as he spoke, "Food for Nathan I hope you did not forget he has not eaten anything the entire day."
Aubriella's eyes widen in alarm as she stood up abruptly as she quickly placed the maps on her hand as she spoke, "Of course not how could I forget."
She hurriedly took the tray as she began feeding an embarra.s.sed Nathan with a smile on her face, Tristan looked at his family with warm eyes.
Almost an hour later Aubriella changed into her sleepwear as she sat on her bed, her husband seemed to be already drifting into sleep, as he spoke, "Turn off the lights it is great that tomorrow is a holiday and I can sleep for a long time."
He then frowned as Aubriella neither did she reply to him nor did she switched off the light his sleep left his eyes as he sat of and was greeted into a melancholic visage of his wife who was staring into distance he gently hugged her as he placed his chin on her shoulder as he spoke, "Is there something wrong love?"
Aubriella sighed as she spoke with tears in her eyes, "You know a few days ago brother Maksim said how we neglected Nathan when he was child.", she paused for a moment as her husband nodded her to continue as she began with a sigh, "You know he is not wrong, I we barely spend time with him when he was in a hospital and doctors forbade me from working from then, but after we returned home we gave him to our maids to raise him and drowned in our work."
Tristan looked ashamed at that, as Aubriella chocked back because of her tears, "You know I had not seen him for months since I returned back with him and the next time I visited was when he called Miss Douglas 'mama', I got angry I ruined the woman who raised him and looked after him who was more of a mother to him than me, because my son called him mother and what did I do I hit him hard, and he began to fear me his own mother."
Tristan sighed as he began to speak, "You are not the only one to blame, when all those things happened I never stopped and in some respect I was the worse, I only saw him twice during that day and when he was born and only after he was kidnapped did we realize what we had lost."
Aubriella leaned into her husband embrace as they reminisced about the dark times when all of a sudden Tristan spoke with a sigh, "You know in a way Nathan's memory loss was a boon you remember what it used to be when three of us got together before his kidnapping."
Aubriella s.h.i.+vered visibly at that as she spoke, "Please do not try to remind me of those days, he always had that look as if he was forced to spend time with his most hated jailors and then the last couple of times he was cold and indifferent it was as if…"
Tristan finished the sentence as his eyes became wet, "As if he gave up caring, he was becoming emotionless yet we did not see that we were too busy earning money and status."
Nathan tossed and turned on his bed before he sat up while grumbling angrily, "It seems I am unable to fall asleep maybe I should surf the net a little bit."
No sooner did he accessed the net from his I-wrist he received an E-Mail notification from an unknown ID with the subject, 'For my Wayward Son please listen to me', he tilted his head at that as he mused, 'Who had send me such a message, may be by mistake.', he opened it only for a file named 'Operation Nova Genesis' attached to it, Nathan looked at it with his eyes wide, he could see the file cover a certain picture of a dragon head with the words 'Children of Tiamat' in golden letters, he knew that name after all that woman who was spouting as insane was spouting out, he wanted to open it and view its contents but he stopped, 'Mom said that the woman was insane and it was an isolated incident that was taken care of but here I am getting an E-Mail about the so called 'Children of Tiamat', I think I should wait and speak to my parents before opening what might be a dangerous virus.'
