Zylvia smiled watching the way the younger woman's eyes lit up. Babies were always a popular topic among woman. She wondered if Kaldrek and her would ever have one. And how long it would take before they would even start trying.
She looked down at what she was working on. A baby girl's little outfit. She really wished she was able to make such an outfit for a child of her own. The gender didn't really matter to her, she just wanted a family of her own. Even if Celia and her husband had always been kind to her she had always been aware they weren't her real parents. She wondered what gender of child Kaldrek would prefer, that is if she could talk him into having a kid. Zylvia also found herself wondering what kind of father he would be.
She knew she was torturing herself by thinking about it. But it was really hard not to right now.
"So, can I help with the preparations for the child?" Hazel's bubbly voice trembled from her excitement.
"Of course!" Fayre grinned at her. "You are one of us for the next year, you know."
Fayre had already accepted the princess as one of them. Zylvia was having a bit harder time accepting the young woman. Hazel seemed like a nice enough person, but she was new and unfamiliar. Though she was fairly easy to understand. Zylvia was a bit surprised that Fayre had not yet teased her about her crush on Asrar.
The next few hours were spent happily talking together and making baby clothes. It went by fairly quickly as they were grabbing fun.
When they went tho lunch, Asrar immediately fell right behind the princess. His quietness was a little unnerving, but at least kinda understandable now. Zylvia wondered how Hazel would react when she eventually found out that Asrar practiced magic.
Jayesh and Kaldrek actually joined them for lunch today. She watched as Jayesh immediately attached himself to his queen and treated her like he was afraid of her breaking. They were adorable.
She sat beside of her husband, glancing at him out of the corner of her eye. He was shaking his head at their best friends with a soft smile on his face.
Hazel was excitedly telling her knight about Fayre being pregnant. The usually stone faced knight was hanging onto her every word. He congratulated the king and queen in his normal overly polite tone. In an odd way Asrar was actually kinda amusing with just how he seemed unconcerned with everything. Though she had to wonder why he would stay in Amriel when it was so dangerous for him to do so.
As she was eating, Zylvia found herself fully aware of Kaldrek sitting beside of her. It was rather hard to resist the urge to lean against him. However, this was not the place or time to suddenly do something like that. And anyhow, it would probably scare him. She felt her lips twitch at the thought.
The conversation as they were eating was of course about the child that Fayre was carrying. It was fairly easy to see just how each person in the room felt about it. All three females were excited to meet the baby and were wondering what gender it would be. The father of the child was just as excited and declared that it didn't matter what gender it was it would be the best child in the world. Kaldrek was grinning enjoying the excitement and was obviously happy for his best friend. The only person who seemed unaffected was Hazel's knight. It almost seemed to Zylvia that he was tuning everything out.
When they were finished eating, the girl's went to go back to their self a.s.signed work. Zylvia glanced at Kaldrek as she was leaving. He and Jayesh were talking with serious looks on their faces.
Asrar walked with them to the door of the place before Hazel shooed him away, "Go have fun for the rest of the day. Just join us for dinner."
"As it pleases thee, my princess." He bowed and left. Hazel watched him leave with an affectionate smile on her face.
They got back to work and talked about little things all afternoon. Even with an outsider there it was still a wonderful time and Zylvia found herself enjoying every minute of it.
