Chapter 4 Part 1 – Small target accomplished
…Bang!
Bang! Bang!
After a barrage of knocking on the door, Chen Minhao woke up from his dream.
He looked out of the window at the morning sun, and sat up from his bed with his mind still in a slightly confused state.
“Who is it?”
What time is it?
He thought as he looked at his phone, and realized that it was already 10 am.
Looks like I'd stayed up too late from last night room cleaning and from the categorizing of songs from my previous world. I'm still feeling tired even though I have slept until 10 am.
“Courier.” A steady male voice replied at the doorstep.
Chen Minhao immediately sobered up and even felt a little exuberant when he heard the reply.
With the recorder and hard disk arrived, the second phase of his plan could now be implemented.
Although the original host was an idol trainee, he did not know how to play any musical instrument at all, nor did he have any musical knowledge. Furthermore, his own skill level was at the amateur level capable of only playing guitar at the freshman orientation party in his university. It was impossible for him to arrange the musical scores of all the songs in his memory.
Snakes have their ways and the rats have their path.
Chen Minhao bought a recording pen and a removable hard disk on the Internet yesterday as he planned to sing all the songs from his memory and record them down, storing them on a removable hard disk. After learning sufficient musical knowledge later on, he would then arrange them into musical scores.
In order to avoid omitting songs and ensure the completeness of the songs derived from his memory, Chen Minhao deployed some techniques from the MECE framework to jolt down the song names last night:
First, he enumerated the songs in his memory by listing them down according to the aspects and elements as thoroughly as possible; listing them down based on the type of singers – male singer, female singer, group; based on the songs language – Mandarin, Cantonese, English, and the genre of the songs – rock, folk music, pop, ethnic music, campus style, children songs.
After that, the cla.s.sified songs were further arranged in order, and was used as a guide in a.s.sisting him to recall other songs' names as well. It was troublesome and time consuming to use this method, but it would make sure that the songs in his mind were sorted out without any omission and repet.i.tion.
Chen Minhao patiently sorted the song list, and recorded the song one by one. After that, he transferred them into the removable hard disk for long-term storage, and deleted the data within the recording pen. After he was done, there were still a bit of time until Friday, so he decided to do a simple comb through his memory for timeless cla.s.sic movies and TV series. Although he knew that the plot that he saw as an audience would be quite different from the script of the films, he acknowledged that it was still better than nothing.
Chen Minhao looked down at the hard disk in his hand, and thought that it was his only link with his former world. On second thought, however, he remembered that it was purchased with the last remaining balance in the original host's card.
There isn't any time for self-pity, I must find a way to earn money. In this modern capitalist society, money is a necessity in life! With money I can take a cab instead of walking home under the hot sun.
…
Because of the short history that Divine Dream had since its incorporation, compared to the other first-tier entertainment companies, there existed a fairly large gap between Divine Dream and them. Despite this, excluding all trainees that had not made their debut, there were still 14 artistes in the company. That meant that the company occupied a large office area. In the skysc.r.a.per, from the sixth to the fourteenth floors, they were all rented by Divine Dream.
In the phone call with Wu Xiaoshuang last time, she only informed him to arrive at the company on Friday morning at 10 o ‘clock, but she did not state where exactly he should wait. He called her last night, and made another call this morning, but both calls went unanswered.
Thus, Chen Minhao could only wait at Kang Hui's office as Wu Xiaoshuang was Kang Hui's a.s.sistant after all.
