The Writer's Romance 27 Meeting Dan

They arrived at the company after 20 minutes from the restaurant.

Mr. Rogers offers to help her carry the food that she bought, it was not only for him but there's also one for Sheen and Bea since she knows that Bea loves that restaurant as well since they all once ate breakfast together.

"No, thank you, Sir. I can handle it. Enjoy your hot chocolate," Sheen holds a paper bag in both her hands so she was not able to wave goodbye to Mr. Rogers as the elevator closes.

"What floor was it? 52? 22? Ugh, I forgot to ask! I can't remember it, what was it?" She's having trouble remembering which floor the President's and her office is located.

She furrows her brows, trying to remember since she can't text the President with both her hands are carrying the food. She's also afraid to put them down because it might slide out of the bag and spill the food outside.

She manages to press 62 and 52.

But she's still not sure which is it, luckily, a guy entered the elevator at 48th floor.

Their eye met and Sheen knows what she needs to do.

But as usual, what she sees first is his appearance as a potential character on a book.

He has circular eyegla.s.ses, his hair is red and curly, and she's thinking that his smile is the sweetest basing from his deep dimples.

"Do you need help with that?" He suddenly asks since Sheen's hand were trembling from the weight of the bags.

She ordered the extra large fries for herself, a large one for Mr. White and Bea. Three large drinks and three overload strawberry pancake with syrup.

This is quite heavy for her to carry up to whatever floor Mr. White is.

"Uh, well, can you tell me where the President's office is, and please do press the number," Sheen smiles awkwardly.

"Yeah, it's 72," he answered as he presses the number, "I'm going there too, let me help you," he then offers his hand in front of Sheen to let him carry one of the bags.

Sheen gave Mr. White's bag and held her and Bea's food which is of course, still heavy with the time she's holding them from the ground floor.

"Is this his? Are you his new a.s.sistant?" The guy asks while fixing his arm to properly hold the bag since they are still in 61st floor, he will have to carry it comfortably.

"Yes, I'm Sierr- uh, Sheen," She holds out her right hand while the left supports the bag.

Her name's too long to be used in a quick informal introduction.

The guy did the same and made a handshake with Sheen, "I'm Dan, editor-in-chief of magazine department," he smiles and Sheen was right.

His dimples made his smile look so sweet, 'Fit for a best friend type character' she thought while smiling.

"Anyways, he didn't eat yet?" Dan asks while peeking at the bag, "He had a meeting earlier, I hope he's okay."

Sheen got confused, skipping breakfast is not good, but it will not cause serious harm.

"Why? Is something wrong when he skips breakfast?" Sheen asks.

"Yeah, he'll faint. His brain is working like h.e.l.l every second and he's stressed, so what do you expect if your tummy does not have something to work on?" Dan suddenly laughs.

"I remember, one time, we were talking to some potential business partners, but he just fell down, he fainted in front of the business partners, they thought he's been working for their partners.h.i.+p until he's tired and pa.s.sed out, so they decided to sign the contract that moment" Dan still laughs.

It was a critical moment for all of them, but it suddenly became a blessing.

"Really? I hope he's fine."

They didn't realize that they were already on the 72nd floor, and when the door opens, they saw the President waiting for the elevator.

"Sir," Sheen and Dan greeted him.

They went out of the elevator and asks Mr. White where he is going.

"Well, I thought I had to buy something since Ms. Sheen's taking so long," Mr. White did not sound annoyed or angry but Sheen felt embarra.s.sed since she did buy her own foods which did take some time.

"I'm sorry, Sir," Sheen bowed.

Dan was just watching them while Mr. White sighs.

"Why do you keep on apologizing to me, I am not angry. I know that you will take some time since Mr. Rogers drives slower than normal which is safe if you ask me, but since you're here, I'll eat whatever you bought," he did not notice that it's from IED and walked to his office with the most annoyed face he has.

While Dan, on the other hand, grins like a maniac since he knows about him and Sheen.

'Aw, he's jealous,' Dan thought.

He knows when Mr. White is upset or not.

He's not upset about Sheen taking her time, he's upset because when the elevator opened, Dan and Sheen were laughing together like they were the only one in the world.

'What should I expect, Sheen's the best friend he's in love with ever since,' Dan then followed Sheen to Mr. White's office while carrying the bag.

They all entered the office and when Mr. White took his seat, Dan immediately gave his breakfast.

His face showed surprise upon seeing what Sheen had bought for him.

"It's Extra Delicious? Really?" Mr. White's tone was flat.

It did not show disappointment or anything, which confuses Sheen.

"Don't you like it, Sir?" Sheen asks while frowning, she's afraid that Mr. White does not like it.

"It's fine, it's just that it's been a while since I had this."

Sheen sighs, she thought she had to buy another breakfast for Mr. White.

Dan just smiles at her, "Dan, what are you doing here?" Mr. White asks while drinking his coffee.

"Nothing, I thought I should invite you to breakfast because I know you didn't eat again, but seems like you have savior here," he answers while looking at Sheen.

"You didn't have breakfast, Dan?" Sheen asks while holding the bag.

'Maybe I should give Bea's food, we both ate earlier. I just want to taste IED again, which is why I bought some,' she thought while looking at the foods inside the bag.

"Nope, so I better go, I may be the one who'll faint later," Dan was about to step out when Sheen grabs his arm.

"Hey, I bought two breakfast here," she looked at the bag, "You can have the other."

Dan got excited the moment Sheen grabbed him, Mr. White's eyes were about to break his arm with his stare.

"Really? Wait, why do you have two breakfast?" Dan asks while Sheen lets go of his arm.

"It was for my cousin, but I just remembered she already ate, so you can have it."

She smiles at Dan while giving him the pancake, fries and the drink.

"Oh, sweet! Thanks!" Dan holds the pancake and fries on his right hand while the drink is in his left, "Hey, Boss! Can we join you?" He looks at Mr. White who's starting to eat his fries.

He just stared at Dan who's smiling for 2 minutes before nodding.

"Sorry to bother you, Sir," Sheen says as she seats in the right side in front of Mr. White while Dan sits on the left side.

"You're apologizing again, it's fine," Mr. White did not look at Sheen while eating his pancake.

But the taste of it makes him remember their childhood, making him show a small smile which Dan noticed.

"Anyways, Ber months are coming, want to start putting Christmas decorations?" Dan asks.

Sheen just looks at Mr. White and Dan, 'Oh, so December's near. I won't be the Romance Novelist of the Year anymore,' she thought while remembering the book she has to publish to gain that t.i.tle.

She already threw the draft of the story she made before she left.

"Yes, and I heard, Ms. Sheen, you were nominated as the Romance Novelist of the Year, how is your book?" Mr. White is almost finished with the pancake.

"Uh," Sheen can't answer the question, she just smiled at Mr. White awkwardly.

"Oh, you haven't started writing?" Dan suddenly commented.

Mr. White stared at Dan with disbelief that he said the obvious from Sheen's smile.

"That's fine, we're not forcing you to do it, but if you want to, you're free to do so, and we won't ask you to choose us as your publis.h.i.+ng company on that," Mr. White then continues finis.h.i.+ng his fries.

"Thank you, Sir."

After having their breakfast, Dan took all the trash to throw it on his way back to his office.

"Here's your key to your office, Ms. Sheen," Mr. White handed Sheen keys from his pocket.

"I asked them to clean and re-decorate it for you before you arrived, and I hope you'll like it, you can check it and then please arrange this," Mr. White gave him a list, "That's some of my appointments this week, I haven't arranged them so please do it."

Sheen saw that it's a long bond paper full of schedules she can't barely understand.

"Okay, Sir," she then started to walk out of the office.

"I'll call you if I need you, so please stay at your office, there are files there that you need to read. It's about the company and some recent activities that we had so you won't be lost if ever," Mr. White wasn't looking at her while he was speaking.

He's reading files that he needs to approve or review.

She didn't bother saying good bye since her office is just on the other side but before she can close the door, Mr. White suddenly said something, "I mean, you can go around the building, but I need to have you in your office at noon."

Sheen suddenly felt excited, she wanted to go around the building made from a fine architecture since the time she enjoyed the sunset, "Thank you, Sir."

She closes the door and began her adventure on the building.
