Oddity Of Fate 2 First Par

The story started in the Philosophy cla.s.s. Dr. Rivero asked his cla.s.s to write an essay about their philosophy in life. Terrence, who is a Straight A student, got an A of course. His friend Lovely Jane, a cheerleader also got an A. Lovely Jane's best friend, Patricia Liberty, also got an A. However, there are six freshmen in the cla.s.s got an F. And they are Daniel, Lilet, Giselle, Maya, Fredo and Lucia. These freshmen came from their small town. They went to a big city for college. This is their first day in school.

Daniel said, "Is this a joke?"

Dr. Rivero replied, "That's not a joke, Daniel. I think you have a big influence on your friends. I want the six of you go to the guidance office after cla.s.s."

Lovely Jane whispered to Patricia Liberty, "They are doomed!"

And, Patricia Liberty just giggled.

Lilet is looking at them. She whispered to her friend, Giselle, "I hate those two girls. They are making fun of us."

Daniel stood up and talked to Dr. Rivero.

He said, "I don't understand why you gave us an F. And, we are called to the guidance office for expressing our thoughts? This is lunatic! What kind of education system does this university give?"

Dr. Rivero raised his tone and said, "Watch your tongue, young man. I want you to go to the dean's office immediately."

Daniel was shocked, "Whaaaat!"

He could not believe what is happening to him. He never called to princ.i.p.al's office when he was in high school. As a matter of fact, he is a model student.

The six of them are helplessly went to the guidance office. Then, it is Daniel who is first called by Mrs. Clark.

Mrs. Clark said, "I am very disappointed with you, young man. You have good reference from your old school. You also wrote a beautiful essay during your first application in this university. How could you write this kind of essay?"

Daniel said, "What do you want me to write? Life is full of suns.h.i.+ne? Gee... I thought you want me to speak out my mind."

Mrs. Clark sad, "The dean wants to see you. You can go now. And, the committee want to suspend you for one week for speaking with Dr. Rivero in ill manner."

Daniel said, "But, I didn't do anything."

Then, Daniel went to dean's office. Inside the dean's office, Dr. Rivero is also there waiting for him. He looked at him sternly.

Dean Devitto said, "Your father is an alumni of this university. He is a friend of mine. I already talked to your father on phone. He already knew about your suspension. This one week suspension also included a community service. You will work with maintenance staffs. It is part of the disciplinary action of this university, and it is also written in the handbook. After leaving my office, kindly sign first this apology letter for Dr. Rivero."

Daniel is very helpless when he signed the apology letter. He signed it even it is not according to his will. After leaving the dean's office, he went to his dormitory. He locked himself inside his room. He first called his mother on phone because he is very disappointed and very desperate.

He said, "Mom, I felt betrayed and degraded."

Mrs. Ruiz said, "Daniel, please understand. It is the only school you've got that can give you a full scholars.h.i.+p for your SAT and the school's recommendation. You were turned down by other universities. This is not an ordinary school. It would provide you a good quality of education."

Daniel replied, "Yes, mom. By the way, I have to work with the janitor staffs, which is part of my disciplinary action."

Mrs. Ruiz consoled her son, "I knew it sounds bad. But, it will teach you how to behave well and to have self-discipline."

After Daniel spoke with Mrs. Clark, it is already Giselle's turn.
