"What! You didn't have s.e.x with her? But there were clear hickeys on her neck !" Fang Youlan confronted Yuan Zhigang angrily.

What's sure to be gained is lost! He didn't feel well, either. Yuan Zhigang didn't have the patience to tangle with her. "Aunt, I did want to do something, while it wasn't as easy as we thought before. When I was faced with a gun directly, what do you think I should choose? A woman or my life?"

After saying that, he hanged up immediately.

Fang Youlan leaned against the sofa for a long time, as if lost in thinking. A man with a gun...The hickeys on Ji Xiaoli's neck...

The more one oppressed her, the more powerful she could become...So the only idea Fang Youlan had was to let Ji Xiaoji get married earlier.   

To make her marry an average man of an average family was the best choice. Thus it would be easier for them to control her.

And more importantly, she would never be a threat to Xuewei any more.

"Mom, what are you thinking about? I asked you for a while but you didn't respond! How about this evening dress?" Ji Xuewei wore a rose red and off-the-shoulder dress and a pair of crystal heels of the same color.

A feeling of relief and satisfaction slipped through Fang Youlan's eyes. She nodded, and smiled: "Whatever you wear, you are beautiful. This one is great! Just go to Mr. Zhao's birthday party in this dress!"

"All right! But Mom, do you think Ji Xiaoli will go or not that day? Now Qi Xiaoguang was a member of the Zhaos, and we are likely to meet her there."

Fang Youlan sneered, "It doesn't matter! She was just an orphan without parents. It was your kind father who adopted her. And you are different; you are our own daughter. Are you worse than a b.a.s.t.a.r.d?"

Ji Xuewei didn't think so and she pursed her lips.

"Mom, will Father change his att.i.tude? Actually, sometimes I thought I was adopted by our family and Ji Xiaoli was father's own daughter!"

Fang Youlan said with certainty , "No, your father only has a  daughter of his own. He won't treat anyone better than you!"

8：00p.m.

At Mr. Zhao's 80th birthday party.

The villa of the Zhao's was ablaze with lights. People here were celebrities from City A. There were debutantes from rich and powerful families and lads from wealthy and influential clans... And there were also sharp fellows from business and political circles drinking on the side, talking of everything at random.　

The eldest son, second son and grandchildren of the Zhaos came out to receive guests. And the daughters-in-law made contact with those ladies meanwhile.

Qi Xiaoguang had been married into the Zhaos for a year. But she couldn't yet get used to these occasions.

"Is it appropriate that you accompany with me alone? You are the wife of the grandson of the Zhaos and you may have to receive those ladies. Otherwise, your mother-in-law will come and find fault with you!"

What Ji Xiaoli said was true. Qi Xiaoguang was from an average family, too. And she married into this wealthy and powerful family because she loved  Zhao Weixing. Now that they got married, she had to adjust to this life.

Qi Xiaoguang sighed then.

The moment she wanted to say something, she found Zhao Weixing's mother gave her a strict glare suddenly.

And then she was startled immediately.

"Well, I think I'd better go over there. Are you OK to stay alone?"

Ji Xiaoli smiled, "Don't treat me as a 3-year- old girl! Of course I'm OK. Be quick, or your mother-in-law will kill you by her glares. "

After Qi Xiaoguang left, Ji Xiaoli just sat on the sofa in the corner and drank champagne, which made her feel cosy.

However, there was still someone who wanted to make troubles for her.
