"This is very interesting... you have improved so much in such a short period of time to the point where I feel incredibly jealous!" Sevilus stated as he came closer to Zaro.
"Jealous?" Zaro a.s.sumed that everyone knew how to control their cores.
"Of course, you managed to extract a whole ruby core extremely well after I had told you how to do it just the other day! Now, if I remember correctly I have some teaching to do..."
"Oh, yes! So..." Zaro had begun asking questions that he was prepared to ask beforehand.
Zaro decided to find out more about the plains and what opportunities he could find within them, Sevilus pondered for a moment and began answering him, "I usually stay away from the plains as they contain many strong creatures and also several races which I would rather avoid... however, I'll tell you what I know. Firstly, from what I witnessed there are several humanoid races that you asked about me previously... most notably, the avians, the orcs, the nomads and the Elatus."
Pus.h.i.+ng aside the extra bits, the avians were feathered-humanoids which originated from the mountains but migrated to the plains. They were incredibly dangerous as many of their species had already reached the diamond-stage and they were progressing really well in the world.
Then came the orcs, which tended to live on the outer parts of the plains near forests. They were generally not intelligent and the majority of them were at best at the amber stage. However, their large bodies, weapons, and brute-nature made them a very fierce opponent.
The nomads were travelers which pa.s.sed by the plains, they were in Zaro's opinion, similar to elves in that they wielded mostly bows and had pointy ears and pale skin. Since they didn't exactly settle anywhere and were vulnerable to beast attacks... they never were a threatening force.
Finally, the Elatus... Sevilus didn't know much about them but had discovered their species by coincidence one time. It would be safe to call them extraterrestrials as they had purple skin, black hair and were extremely terrifying. Although he couldn't tell what cores they had, he knew they had abnormal strength as they launched several spears at him at shocking speeds.
Zaro was completely stunned at the variety of species in this world, also, the Elatus sounded extremely mysterious. Thankfully, he wouldn't need to go to the plains until he pa.s.sed the awakening stage.
"Alright, I think that's enough from me for now... I have places to be." Sevilus sighed.
"Hold on! One more thing and you can be on your way." Zaro still had so many questions but wanted to keep growing so he didn't have time to keep waiting around for Sevilus.
"Alright, what is it?"
"When I go into the plains, is there any good areas that will enable me to have increased growth?" Zaro wanted to progress as fast as he could as many of the enemies he could encounter would be several times stronger than him.
"There are many ways... the fastest but the most dangerous would be to enter dimensions that are scattered around the plains, oh, do not forget... these lands are so vast that you could spend a lifetime just to discover even just a percentage of it! Just like the lands, the opportunities are endless. That's my time... good luck!"
Zaro was completely dumbfounded, how could these lands be so vast?! Dimensions?! Just a percentage in a lifetime?! Where the h.e.l.l did I reincarnate into?! As much as everything shocked him, he was extremely excited to discover this vast world!
Zaro shook his head in delighted and immediately went hunting! Firstly he had to improve his senses so that he could track down creatures with strong essence cores. In order to do it, he figured that he would have to find a plant which raised his senses even temporarily. If the world had elves, orcs, and extraterrestrials then it had to have plants which improved his sense of smell!
The following days, Zaro spent his entire time hunting down various types of animals in order to gather as much essence as he could. Whenever he found a weaker animal, he would ignore it and move on as the essence gained would simply be not enough. As he hunted he also paid attention to various plants with large amounts of essence inside of them.
Without rest, he was desperately searching for the ideal cores that would further increase his strength. After a few days of hunting, Zaro had finally struck a perfect target! Another hunting party was currently returning to their home with a deer being carried on a stick.
Zaro hesitated slightly as he thought that this deer could have come from Crown's herd and he knew that the stag was no easy opponent. However, after looking closer, he noticed a ruby core on the deer and shook with excitement!
The animal was already defeated, he didn't even need to fight the orcs, all he needed to do was grab the core and bolt!
Zaro took a deep breath and after looking around for the perfect angle, he began his plan of attack. The plan was simple, to dash in and back out and preferably without the orcs noticing.
That's when he came up with a better idea that he was annoyed that he didn't think of before! Zaro immediately ran in the opposite direction and began to howl on the top of his lungs hoping that it would startle the orcs.
Once he finished, he dashed ahead of the orcs and angled himself once again close to the orcs which were now looking behind them with their weapons drawn.
Without even the slightest bit of hesitation, Zaro powered forward and aimed his body straight at the core while the orcs were pre-occupied. The orcs, as dumb as they were didn't even bother looking behind them which allowed Zaro to swiftly take out the core and easily make his escape.
As he ran away with the core in his mouth, Zaro was laughing hysterically on the inside as his eyes began to tear up. I did it! Haha, I actually managed to take the core away from them that easily!
After running away for a considerable amount of time, Zaro had decided to begin extracting the essence from the core. He sat upright and closed his eyes as he swallowed the core and immediately felt the essence dissolving inside of him.
As usual, he concentrated intensely on his core and began extracting the essence efficiently, however, this essence felt slightly different when he was consuming it? He felt like the essence was transforming his thigh muscles and his lungs.
He paid no attention to it and decided to focus on the extraction process, however, once he was done he couldn't believe that his legs were now much stronger. Eager to test out the new power he moved forward and immediately noticed that he was achieving greater speeds than he was used to!
This was it! As long as he extracted cores properly, he would enhance a specific part of his body! Since deer were known for their extremely good maneuverability while running its core would give him a similar ability!
