Some members who served as inspectors were seen walking around while watching the work of other officers. The part that handles supplies is busy cooking dishes for everyone. The Blacksmiths are checking and honing the weapons of the members.
Lie with a grim face trying his new clothes. A simple brown T-s.h.i.+rt with shorts made of a coa.r.s.e material that is uncomfortable to use. Its uniforms usually used by helpers. Unlike the official members, which looks cooler.
"The boss wants to talk to you," Nero said as he approached him.
Lie immediately moved and followed Nero without a word. Hatred still covers his heart. Sadly, he also couldn't do anything.
" Whoaaa it's our Qiuqitsu champion!"
"Haha. He is just a big mouth brat."
"Pee Bucket."
He tried to ignore some people who mocked him along the way. The nickname 'Pee Bucket' began to stick on him. Diverting his attention from the scorn of people, Lie tried to talk to Nero even though he didn't like it.
"That magic, really great, if I could use it I would have won," he complained.
"Not everyone can use magic. Only those who have a high affiliate with Mana who can use it," Nero replied.
"That means, people like you and the girl, really special, huh?"
"... Not really," Nero chimed Lie's words after a pause.
They returned to leisurely walk to the boss's tent without a word.
***
"Excuse me, boss," Nero's voice rang out from outside the tent.
"Please enter," Boss answered.
Nero along with prospective new servants entered the main tent of the Cross Guard troops.
The interior of the tent looks like a work room. A quality red carpet, with a table in the middle. The boss sat behind a table with Yuristo standing beside him.
"Please sit down, boy," the boss invited Lie to sit on the empty chair in front of him.
After Lie sat, Yuristo approached him. He stood behind Lie. His left-hand holds the pulse on Lie's neck while his right-hand holds the dagger that is ready to stick in the throat of that prospective new member.
"Okay. I have a few questions for you," the boss spoke in an intimidating tone.
"I-is this a standard procedure to accept prospective employees here?" Lie asked nervously.
"Shut up. You are only allowed to answer with the words 'yes' or 'no'," Yuristo said.
Meanwhile, Nero watched casually. It seems like he also knows that this will happen.
"Let me made this clear. Yuristo can know all kinds of lies from your pulse. He is a Cursed Child. Once there are words from you that are different from the contents of your heart, then that is the end of your life," Bos threatened.
Lie knows that he is currently under suspicion. All stories about people coming from other worlds. It can't be trusted. However, he also could not make a hog. Because it seems like the person who is currently controling of his life is used to working as lie detector.
The room is quiet. No one dares to speak. Now only the boss controls the whole conversation.
"First, are everything you tell me before is true?"
"Yes."
Different from before, this time Bos look at him with suspicious eyes.
"Second. Do you hold a grudge against us?"
Lie did not answer. Of course he was very angry with their treatment. However, if at this time he answered 'yes', his head might be removed right away. Because of course saving someone who really hates you, like keep a venomous scorpion under your bed.
"Answer right now," The boss ordered firmly.
"Y-yes," Lie replied.
"So you have a sense of revenge on us?"
"Yes."
"Nice."
'What is nice about it?' Lie thought.
"Now I ask a question that you must really think about. After this do you have a plan for your future?"
"Yes."
"What are you going to do for the future?"
"Yes."
The boss is facing Yuristo. After a while, he realized something.
"Oh. Now you can answer other than with 'yes' or 'no'."
"I don't have any plans ..."
Yuristo grabbed Lie's hair. He brought his face closer while speaking in a threatening tone.
"Hee ~? I feel your pulse accelerate. It's your choice to answer honestly or lying, you know the consequences right?"
"Alright. I'm sorry. Of course, what I have in mind now is how to get revenge for your treatment. Even though it's impossible, I'm just an ordinary human. Not someone who can bring out cool magic like you guys."
The boss folds his hands while leaning against the back of his seat.
"Hahaha. Exactly. You won't be able to do anything to us. It looks like you already realize your position."
Lie seemed to dislike the words of the boss. However, what can he do?
"Boy. Life in here is cruel. Unlike in your original place, I guess. The humiliation you receive is for your inability to read the situation. Work hard. You will be paid according to the amount of work. For now, maybe that's what you can do ... "The boss raised his head while saying softly with a mockery,"our new S-E-R-V-N-T... "
"Nero. Immediately give this boy the first task as servant. Also, watch him. If there are suspicious movements, you are free to do anything to him. Whether you kill or give it to Agrya, that is your decision," Bos continued his words.
"Okay," answered Nero.
Yuristo throws Lie towards the tent door.
Lie tried to maintain his balance. Then come out with Nero without saying a word. It seems right now, he experiences a big anxiety in his heart. Unable to accept the treatment he experienced, including the fact that he was weak, he also could not become an independent man in his new world.
The life of our main character as a servant has begun.

"Yuristo, what do you think?" asked the boss after making sure no one beside them in the tent.
"He doesn't lie. But that doesn't make us really know if he is hiding something."
The boss laying his head on his hand. Now his body and expression are relaxed.
"I'm different from you who can judge other people from psychological movements. You know, I can only read people based on my instincts. That child, doesn't hide anything at all in a fight. If indeed he is a spy or something like that, It's will be understandable if he lost by purpose, "said the boss.
"Then, after I witnessed his collaboration with Nero against Agrya. Or his reaction was when we tried to arrest him. Then when I offered him to join. And the last thing is, when i mentioned that you were a Cursed Child ... everything was clear," continued the boss.
Yuristo nodded indicating his understanding with the boss.
"He's just an idiot child who doesn't know anything," said Bos and Yuristo simultaneously.
"So, will you take care of that child?" Yuristo asked the boss.
"Depending on whether he can be useful for Cross Guard or not," answered the boss.
"I don't think he can be too useful. Judging from his nature and abilities," Yuristo responded.
The boss snorted smallly. His lips gave a smirk as he looked towards Yuristo.
"I remember, there was a kid who couldn't do anything. He tried to point a knife at me with trembling legs. Now look ... he's become a vice-captain!"
Yuristo turned his blus.h.i.+ng face in shame.
"Yeah. Thank you for that. But, to think about his whole story as b.u.mi inhabitant... "
"Okay. We will talk about it later. For the boy problem. I leave it to you. You are free to do anything. If you decide to finish him off one day. I won't protest," the boss waved as a code to send off his Right Hand.
"Heh ... now your words and your heart's content are different," Yuristo teased.
"Hahahaha. You really are my right hand. Indeed."
Yuristo held the tent door, and before leaving he warned the boss.
"Don't be too kind to people, boss. You taught me that being good can kill you someday," Yuristo said before he left the place.
"As if ..." murmured the boss.
Then he saw a doc.u.ment containing a trade agreement with his client. It's looked like a big transaction with a spectacular nominal.
"What a pity. Soon, a difficult task will coming. Work as helper, that's mean we will send him to the front of the battlefield. Will that boy survived?"
