"There's a Sim attached, please turn it on Miss," the manger said in a convincing tone.

Yuxi powered it and put in her info.

The woman smiled and pa.s.sed the man a black card which he received with both hands.

Yuxi thought that would be all but to get surprise they were more to come.

Was all of these written in the file I had signed?

She never saw any part of it than the blank s.p.a.ce for her salary.

Yuxi watched the woman sitting beside her from her side eye, the woman might be old but full of vigors. She never seem to get tired.

They had also gone to a famous Jewelers gallery to buy jewelries. Worst part is that she never saw the prices of anything being bought. But she was sure they all cost a fortune.

The woman had purchased about a dozen plus neckchains, earrings, bracelets and finger rings.

I will use them till death. Yuxi thought.

"Have a look at this and pick one from it," Mrs Xing pa.s.sed Yuxi the magazine she was flipping through.

When Yuxi saw the first page her eyes popped. Whaat‽ "Ma'am, this is..."

"Yes, you also get a free apartment." The woman was all smiles. "Pick anyone of your choice. You have to enjoy all these luxuries because you are Shen's girlfriend."

But I'm not even his girlfriend truly. Yuxi thought.

"You might not be his true girlfriend now, but you have every right to enjoy all these!" The woman said as if able to read her mind.

Yuxi was stuck in between the beautiful apartments she saw. She was confused on what to choose from. The first apartment looked very simple and small, it had two bedrooms only, she couldn't possibly take that with s.h.i.+huan still struggling to make it. The second one was a whole house with four bedrooms( ensuite), two living rooms, a dinning room, kitchen and a library. It had all the furnitures already... The third apartment had three bedrooms, a living room, kitchen and dining and also furnitures.

Yuxi didn't want to look any further. She had her fingers in-between the pages of the four bedrooms and three bedrooms.

The woman happened to have been watching her, she took back the magazine and turned to the four bedrooms page. "Your parents are currently here in Shanghai, your sister works at a hotel while her kid studies, and your brother is still home waiting to be called upon by the basketball officiators here in Shanghai... I think this is more suitable for you and your family." The woman said matter-of-factly.

"Erhm... I will take the three bedrooms apartment." Yuxi immediately said.

"Am I missing something? I'm sure of what I just said. The four bedrooms is enough for you and your family."

"No no," Yuxi rejected. "I will take the three bedrooms."

The woman was silent for a while then said, "You think I am doing too much for you and don't want to be indebted to me?" 

Yuxi's eyes bulged at what the woman said.

"It's all right!" Mrs Xing said. "Even if I buy you a whole house... I will never allow you to feel indebted to me." The woman smiled. "Let's just say this is a way of me paving the heavens gate for my great grandchildren. The sins committed by the parents live on with the children children... Generation upon generation," she smiled bitterly.  "So I'm sacrificing all these so maybe the Lord will limit the punishment he's meant to pa.s.s onto my generation. I don't want them living with curses on their heads... So please accept whatever I'm offering you. You don't have to feel indebted to me because you are in no way owing me a penny."

Yuxi was wordless. Now there was no way she could refute.

"You just have to be by my Shenshen's side, to help him with whatever he may need. If it's out of your league then you can always reach out to me. I will be by your side." Mrs Xing stated.

Yuxi had no choice but to go with the woman's option.

They arrived at a very well situated estate, the environment was cool like the morning breeze and neat like no one lived there. They drove for about five minutes pa.s.sing by buildings and family houses before they stopped at a five storey building. At the entrance, they were two men waiting and immediately they saw them they rushed forward. 

"Welcome ma'am," they both chanted.

Mrs Xing nodded and they strode in. They used the elevator and arrived at the last floor. The elevator beeped and the metal doors parted to let them into a walkway.

"This is the last floor ma'am," the first man started. "There's no neighbour or any other apartment on this floor. It has four bedrooms, actually five but then it was reconstructed. Four bedrooms and they are all ensuites. A gymnastics room, a library room, kitchen and dining room, two living rooms and not forgetting the last room was reconstructed into a play room and a mini cinema for the family. The kids can use the play room and the whole family can gather to use the cinema."

"Yes," the second man chimed in. "The furnitures are of the finest wood, the kitchen cabinets are very strong, the wardrobes, the cus.h.i.+ons are soft and you can easily relax on them. Please ma'am check it all out and let us know if we are lacking in anywhere." The two men opened the bedroom doors for Mrs Xing to have a look.

She sighed. "What is the second living room meant for?"

"It needs more reconstruction to my understanding," the woman said flatly.

"Yes ma'am." The two men chorused.

"Anyways, we would take it."

"Ye... Yes ma'am," the smile on their faces made Yuxi smile too.

They must have been on edge thinking she would not like it. The look they shared when she had said it needed more construction.

"Get the cleaners to tidy up because we are moving in tomorrow evening." The woman ordered.

"Yes ma!" The two men answered and one went to make a call while the other stayed to negotiate on the price.
