Rong rong and Xiao Miao were both from Jinling* (Ninjang). They would stay in Beijing for a few days, because Xiao Miao was favored by two old professors in the director department. They will recruit her whenever they had time, and they wanted to take her as a graduate student.

Susu s.h.i.+vered at the thought of that, to think that doting on someone would be hard to enjoy. Haste makes waste, it was lucky that Miao was sweet.

At noon, she had a dinner with Liu Yun and Rong Rong, while Xiao Miao was dragged away by her professor.

Quickly, she checked-out from the hotel room, and put the luggage in the guesthouse. Susu planned to buy something special in the afternoon, to give them to her friends and relatives. She didn't think she would come back within six months.

Susu secretly laughed, happy to be able to pa.s.s the exam, feeling like it was a dream.

She hoped that she would be able to stand on the stage again.

No fear of hards.h.i.+p, she must work hard, she must do it. That was the first step.

Out of the hotel, the heart that had just been boiling had frozen into a peanut by the cold days of the imperial city.

It was cold.

s.h.i.+vering, Susu finally arrived at Caifu restaurant after a long journey.

At the entrance, Susu was met with the same s.h.i.+vering sight. Susu was very energetic, and patted Rong Rong's back.

“Ouch!” Rong Rong jumped up and looked at her with aggrieved eyes. She didn't know when she offended her.

“Straighten your back, and be energetic.” Susu imitated Xiao Miao.

“I will feel warm when it is warm.” Rong Rong muttered and went in Caifu Restaurant, not daring to offend her.

Unexpectedly, Liu Yun was not the only one in the compartment. There was a middle-aged woman with her.

“This is director Zhang Li Li,” Liu Yun said. “Our series hasn't started filming yet. So Zhang Dao came over this time to personally talk to Cheng Kun and invite him to be the leading actor. I happened to tell her about this meeting, so she came to lunch with me.”

The two girls greeted Zhang and sat down separately.

“Both of you seem to be a little awkward around me. It's okay, we're just having a meal,” Zhang seemed to be smiling but not laughing. At first glance, the woman didn't appear amiable, she had long slender eyebrows, long narrow eyes and a smart face. She was a very talkative person.

It was a well known fact that Chinese people talk about serious businesses at the wine table, because that was the place to contact people. The two girls didn't drink, but the food was relaxing.

After a meal, Zhang Dao basically found out about the exam's result of the two girls and comforted Rong Rong. She told her that there were many ways to enter the Academy of Performing Arts.

Rong Rong's personality itself got more lively.

The person relaxed, and the two adult women's careful comfort erased her sadness, grinning with a thoughtless manner.

After they were done with the food and drinks, Zhang went to the point.

“Rong Rong, your sister Yun recommended you to play a role. What do you think?”

Rong Rong said grimly, “My sister said I need an audition. I can't do it until I'm ready.”

Zhang  glanced at Liu Yun and was satisfied that she had not packed the tickets for the two girls. There were many boastful stars in the entertainment circle who say how iron they are with directors and producers. Such a small role must be settled for them. That would be very irresponsible. What was certain?

Zhang smiled and said, “I'm going to Cheng Kun this afternoon. Are you free for an audition tomorrow afternoon?”

“Yes, I am,” Rong Rong was delighted. The director really gave her the chance.

Susu was also happy for her.

Rong Rong finally paid for the meal. On the way back, Rong Rong said, “Xiao Miao said, I must pay for it.”

*Ninjang, capital of China's eastern Jiangsu province, is roughly 300km up the Yangtze River from the city of Shanghai.
