Chapter 1766 – Memories Awoken

That clan’s Heavenly World.

Number 327 pointed in front of her and said, “Sect Master Qin, that is Dragon Head Mountain.”

Qin Yu’s gaze lowered and his body tensed up slightly.

“Dragon Head Mountain?” he muttered under his breath and looked at the mountain with a serious expression.

“Sect Master Qin?” Number 327 looked confused.

Qin Yu exhaled slowly and said, “Little Seven, can we go in?”

Number 327 shook her head and there was an apologetic look on her face. “We can’t. Our clan’s ancestral shrine is built there and no one is allowed to go close to it; even I have not gone in before.”

“Is that so?” Qin Yu said, “Then let’s walk around the higher places – even if we do not go in, I will be able to see it more clearly.”

Number 327 said, “Okay.”

The two of them climbed up the side of the mountain, which was a steep and towering rock cliff. At the top, there was a panoramic view from which most of Dragon Head Mountain could be seen.

Qin Yu took a long look at this mountain, but he did not gain anything.

Even though Dragon Head Mountain was right in front of him, it was isolated by an invisible energy barrier, so Qin Yu could not see what was hidden inside. Right at this moment, his heart skipped a beat. He could evidently feel the aura around him changing.

This was…the aura of Blue Dragon Mountains!

Buzz –

A soft hum rang out beside his ears, causing his vision to go blurry. When his vision recovered once again, he realized that the invisible barrier was no longer there.

He could see Dragon Head Mountain clearly for what it was. He could see another mountain hidden within it!

It was very small and very ordinary. It was so ordinary that it could be found anywhere else in the world.

A temple-like ancestral shrine was built atop this mountain. There was a plaque on it that was black and gold, giving it a very dignified aura.

Nothing else was needed for Qin Yu to feel a suppressive energy on his soul when he looked at the plaque. This was because this dignified aura was bestowed by the heavens and earth!

With a snort, Qin Yu abruptly closed his eyes.

In the next moment, the urgent ring of a bell suddenly sounded from that ancestral shrine!

At the foot of the mountain, there was a small hut built from bamboo. An elder from that clan rushed out of it hurriedly. When he raised his head to look upwards, he suddenly looked shaken. His figure flashed and he reappeared in front of the bell. He reached his hands outwards to touch the bell and stop it from ringing any further.

However, the moment his finger touched the bell, he was sent flying outwards!

“Sect Master Qin, what’s wrong with you?” Number 327 looked at him uneasily and in confusion.

This was because she did not know what Qin Yu had ‘seen’.

“Nothing, let’s leave this place!” He reached out his hand and held onto Number 327, before turning to leave.

In his soul s.p.a.ce, the Boundary Ring was still present. It was precisely because of its existence that Qin Yu’s aura could be sealed.

And now, the Boundary Ring was shaking violently. Evidently its sealing power had suffered a great impact!

On the opposite side of the star, at that huge city.

Whoosh –

That clan’s leader abruptly opened his eyes. However, at this moment, all of the light curtains were distorted, making it impossible for him to discern anything.

The ring of the bell directly sounded in his mind.

Ancestral shrine!

Whoosh –

That clan’s leader stepped outwards and in the next moment, he descended outside the ancestral shrine.

“Clan Leader!”

That elder who was sent flying outwards earlier looked furious. “The bell was issuing a warning and I tried to communicate with it, but I almost suffered from a backlas.h.!.+”

That clan’s leader took a deep breath and scolded, “Are you done making a fuss? Stop right now!”

The bronze bell that was ringing urgently slowly returned to calm.

“What happened?”

The bronze bell remained silent.

That clan’s leader frowned and his eyes were filled with coldness.

“Hmph!”

He snorted loudly, but did not do anything. His eyes swept over the surroundings.

The elder said, “Clan Leader, before you came here, no one entered.”

That clan’s leader did not say anything. He waved his sleeve to open the gates of the ancestral shrine and walked into it. A moment later, he walked back out and the gates shut by themselves.

“Nothing out of the ordinary.”

The elder nodded his head, but he looked very uneasy.

This was because the ancient scholartree bronze bell had truly rung suddenly out of nowhere. Something must have happened.

It was just that the clan leader had yet to find the reason for this.

This was not a good outcome at all.

“Guard this place and stay on high alert.” After giving these orders, that clan’s leader disappeared once again.

He returned to the huge city, where the light curtains had recovered to their original state. With a single thought, he very quickly found Qin Yu and Number 327’s figures.

They were over there!

They were not far away from Dragon Head Mountain and appeared to be on the way to it. It would take at most half an hour for them to arrive.

This has nothing to do with them? No way!

That clan’s leader took a deep breath and said, “Blue Dragon’s soul, help me turn back the time and recreate the scene before the bronze bell gave a warning alert.”

Immediately, all of the images on the light curtains started to rewind.

Time was starting to flow backwards!

That clan’s leader stared at the image in front of him, which contained Qin Yu and Number 327’s figures.

It rewinded all the way back to before the bell rang. In the image, there was nothing strange about the both of them.

Indeed, they were on their way to Dragon Head Mountain and had not yet gone anywhere close to it.

It seemed like this incident was indeed unrelated to them.

Hu –

That clan’s leader took a long exhale, but it did not release the tension in his heart. This was already the second time that the ancestral bell had rung!

Could this be related to ‘Qiu’? He chased after Scarlet Sky and rushed into the depths of the aether, and when both of them fell into the Sea of Confusion, there was no more news of them.

If it was not for the fact that ‘Qiu’ was nowhere to be found, then with two of them to hold the fort, that clan would not be in such a vulnerable position.

It was only ever since ‘Qiu’s’ aura had disappeared and the Great Qin Empire’s ascension that the Central Desolate was bold enough to suppress that clan.

Darned Scarlet Sky!

……

On the other hand, Qin Yu could sense that the eyes on him had slowly gone away.

He felt more relaxed now as he stopped walking and said, “Little Seven, let’s stop for a while to rest.”

Number 327 nodded and looked over. “Sect Master Qin…”

“It’s fine,” Qin Yu laughed and nodded his head. He looked at her again but did not bother giving her an explanation, and proceeded to close his eyes.

Whoosh –

In the next moment, Qin Yu’s consciousness appeared in a white-colored world.

Above his head, there was grayish white fog that was rolling continuously.

“Why did you help me?” Qin Yu opened his mouth to ask.

As the fog continued to roll above his head, a huge dragon started to appear from within.

Its head was enormous as it looked at Qin Yu and said, “Because you are the one who is destined.”

Qin Yu frowned. “What do you mean?”

“It means that as of today, I have finally accomplished my mission.” A hint of relief could be heard in its voice.

Without waiting for Qin Yu to ask any more questions, it suddenly growled softly and its humongous body came whistling towards him.

It knocked into Qin Yu, yet there was no impact at all. It was like an illusion had directly integrated with his body.

And from this moment on, Blue Dragon Mountains had changed owner.

Or, more accurately, in this Heavenly World, a new heaven and earth’s spirit of fate had been born!

There was no need to swallow or absorb anything and there was none of the difficulty that Qin Yu expected. It all happened so naturally.

It was as if this Blue Dragon’s soul had been waiting for Qin Yu’s arrival since a very, very long time ago.

In this white-colored world, there was only Qin Yu left now. He suddenly raised his hands to hug his head and a pained growl could be heard.

If the ringing of the bronze bell earlier was like a steel nail piercing through one’s brain, then the pain he was feeling now was like two invisible hands that were trying to tear his head apart.

“Ah!”

With a miserable cry, Qin Yu fell to the floor.

Along with the pain came the blurry memories that flashed nonstop in his mind. He could finally remember those memories that were supposed to be buried forever.

In a small courtyard, there was a warm and harmonious family sitting by the table. There was a man and a woman smiling as they looked at their son and daughter playing with each other.

The small girl was pale and had soft, supple skin. She was beautiful, and she still could not run properly yet. As she stumbled back and forth, she was screaming, “Older brother, wait for me! Wait for me!”

The image in his head suddenly changed. Under the pitch black sky, there was only a dim light still s.h.i.+ning. The ground was covered with a red and sticky substance.

The man and woman from earlier were now collapsed on the floor. Their eyes were wide in disbelief.

“Brother, I’m scared!”

The girl hugged tightly onto her only relative left, the tears falling all over her face.

Her brother, who was similarly frightened, hugged his sister in his arms. He covered her eyes and said, “Don’t be scared, don’t be scared, don’t be scared…”

He could only repeat this phrase mechanically.

The image changed once again.

Rain was pouring and dark clouds filled the skies. The atmosphere was so oppressive that it was difficult to breathe.

“Only one of you can live. Make your choice.”

The older brother rushed out, his skinny body getting instantly soaked by the rain. “I’ll die, let her live!”

A gaze swept across his body. “Fine!”

In the next moment, an invisible energy descended, wrapping the older brother in a cage.

His whole body was lifted into the air. His eyes widened and he cried out miserably.

“Let go of my brother!”

The little girl rushed forward, but before she could get close, she was sent flying back.

“Let her live! Let her live!” The elder brother screamed desperately even though he was in pain.

That voice rang out once again, “Of course. Not only will she live, she will also integrate her bloodline with yours and become a talent of our clan.

“However, she will not remember anything that happened today or in the past…now, are you starting to regret your decision? If you regret this, I will give you a chance to make your choice again and you can live.”

“I’ll die, let her live!”

The older brother screamed without any hesitation.

“I’ll grant you your wish.”

Fresh blood started to flow from the boy’s body.

……

“Ah!”

In the white-colored world, Qin Yu roared as he snapped to his senses.

His face was pale and he was gasping for air.

His body trembled uncontrollably, not just because it felt as if he had personally gone through a tremendous amount of pain, but because these memories were pressed into his mind like a red hot iron.

He had never felt such pain before, but neither had he felt such hatred before.

His archenemy had always been the same!

Even if that voice has changed, he could definitely still recognize it.

That clan’s leader!

But, why? Why did it turn out like this?

Qin Yu’s memories were still incomplete, but there was at least one thing that he no longer had doubts about.

That clan must die!

……

In the outside world, Qin Yu opened his eyes.

Number 327 breathed a sigh of relief. “Sect Master Qin, you’re awake? What happened just now? Your expression tells me that something is wrong.”

The way Qin Yu was clenching his jaw looked as if he wanted to eat someone alive.

“Little Seven…” Qin Yu took a deep breath and exhaled. He plastered a smile on his face and said, “I’m fine. Perhaps it is because I haven’t rested properly recently.”

He got up, patted her shoulder, and said, “Let’s go, we should head back now.”

Number 327 was dazed for a while. Then, her face reddened. All Qin Yu did was pat her shoulder.

But that action felt more intimate than usual.

However, she had to admit that although she felt slightly embarra.s.sed from receiving this physical contact, she never once resisted. In fact, from these actions, she felt a warmth that she had never experienced before.

“Little Seven, what was your past like? Did you live well?”

“Hm? It wasn’t too bad.”

“No, you didn’t live well.”

“......”

“This is all my fault, it took me too long to find you.”

“......” Number 327 was speechless and started to stumble over her words, “Sect Master Qin, you…are you okay?”

Qin Yu turned around and there was a bright smile on his face, “Of course I’m okay. But I want to tell you that from today onwards, you will have a very good life. I guarantee this.”

Reaching his hand out, he grabbed Number 327.

In this life, he did not want to let go of her hand ever again!

When they returned to the courtyard, Qin Yu told her that he wanted to go into closed door cultivation. He entered his room, closed his eyes, and raised his left hand.

He opened his eyes again and stared at it.

“White Feifei, I want to save her.”

No response.

Qin Yu took a deep breath and said, “At all costs!”

Whoosh –

A dim glow flashed over the surface of his left hand. Then, it isolated Qin Yu from the outside world.

“Qin Yu, you said this yourself.”

Qin Yu nodded his head calmly and replied, “I will not have any regrets.”
