Andrew was still standing in the ring, but he had used up all of his strength and was exhausted. He stood wearily, remaining motionless.
The recruits did not think too much of it. After all, they had already been dazzled by the sudden victory.
All of them rushed up to the ring in excitement, lifted Andrew, and threw him high in the air, while cheering.
"Victory! Victory! Hooray Andrew!"
However, Steve saw Andrew's weakened state and intervened, saying, "Andrew is seriously injured and needs to recuperate. Don't disturb him, guys."
The crowd set down Andrew, yet their faces were still full of joy. However, they all understood that Andrew had been beaten pretty badly by Charles and was in need of medical attention.
Fortunately, most of his injuries minor and could be treated very quickly. If he had been seriously injured, they wouldn't have dared lift him up and throw him in the air!
"How did you defeat him?" Steve inquired curiously.
"Haha, we'll only know when he wakes up to tell the tale," Andrew said, then continued to tell his version of the story of the battle.
After hearing all of that, Steve got a funny look on his face, then asked, "Wouldn't it have been fine, even if he had not gone down during the group battle?"
"Hahaha, he must be very sorry about that now!" Andrew said with a laugh.
In fact, Charles had not had time to think about the situation carefully before now. Due to the fact the fighters in the five battle rounds would usually join the team battle afterwards, once he woke up, Charles would surely learn that he'd been deceived, as he could have avoided the disaster by not partic.i.p.ating in the group battle!
"Your victory was indeed beyond everyone's expectations!" Steve patted Andrew on the shoulder, then said, "Well done, now leave the rest to us."
Andrew laughed and said, "Okay, I'll leave the rest to you guys."
Andrew was then carried away by the medical team. His injuries severe enough to possibly prevent him from being able to join the group battle.
"Haha, it's been many years since a recruit was able to defeat a veteran." Sergeant Connell laughed brightly, then said, "This batch of recruits are quite good, but the battle must still go on. It's the second round, so fighters from both sides come on up!"
The second round began not long after the first round had ended.
"I'll go!" Lucy was about to jump into the ring eagerly. But, a dark shadow had already jumped into the ring, then stood in the middle of it. It was Stuart!
"I'll go for the second round," Stuart said with a dark smile.
Stuart's personality had changed dramatically after he had entered into a contract with the evil spirit of Erinnyes. Seeing this transformation, Steve frowned and furrowed his brows.
Stuart seemed like a madman now. His soul had been eroded by the evil spirit and had become twisted and dark. But, at least in terms of his appearance, he looked the same as before.
Lucy's dainty face was full of anger, as she had not expected that Stuart would s.n.a.t.c.h this opportunity away from her.

"The veterans are so much stronger than us. It's better to observe a while before we start," Steve said.
Steve's eyes were calm. He was watching Stuart. Right then, from the veteran camp, a man dressed in combat attire jumped into the ring. His appearance was quite different than Charles', as he did not have as powerful an aura.
The man was not very tall, and he had an ordinary temperament. In fact, there was nothing special about him.
Still, Steve didn't think that the man could be weak. After all, the veterans had lost the first round, so they would have surely entered a strong compet.i.tor to win this next round.
Besides, the others hadn't noticed it, but Steve could see that the ordinary looking man had sharp eyes, like a hidden sword. Such a sharp gaze was absolutely not something an ordinary character would possess.
He was like a wickedly sharp sheathed sword, which looked ordinary on the outside, but once it was unsheathed, it would show its amazingly sharp edge and terrifying combat power! When the man had entered the ring, it had caused a stir among the veterans.
"Hahaha, Jonathan's entered the second round! Those recruits are done for!"
"We must win the second round!"
"Jonathan's a genius, who was almost on the rankings board of the Original Gravity Tower. Even if all five compet.i.tors from the opposite side were to combine forces, they'd still be no match for him."
Based on the comments from the veterans camp, Steve realized that Jonathan was definitely an extraordinary character!
"Come on," Jonathan said to Stuart calmly, waiting for him to make the first move. "If I were to attack you first, you wouldn't stand a chance."
"Hahaha, your words annoys me." Stuart sneered. "So, I've decided to defeat you!"
A gust of black mist erupted from Stuart's body, and in an instant, the black mist had enveloped the entire place. n.o.body could see what was going on at all!
Bang!
Just then, the sound of metal weapons colliding rang out amid the black mist. Although the onlookers couldn't see anything, from time to time, there would be sounds of attacks and weapons colliding, as well as Stuart's icy laughter.
"Oh, I thought you were strong, but this is all you have!" Stuart laughed and said.
"Darn things! What are these things on me? Their devouring my strength!" Jonathan's furious voice rang out.
"Haha, if you don't want your original force to be sucked dry, you should give up now." Stuart laughed.
"You think you can defeat me by using this evil thing? Never!" Jonathan became even more furious.
"Eternal Light!" A loud shout rang out, and a white burst of light could be seen amid the black mist, dispelling the black mist in an instant.
Before the crowd could react, Jonathan took an ancient war spear and stabbed at Stuart, who was directly in front of him. The spear was like a shooting meteor that pierced the night sky with its brilliant light. This was the same light that had dispersed the black mist!
Stuart quickly summoned a s.h.i.+eld in front of him. The black s.h.i.+eld was like a blooming black rose, gorgeous and enchanting.
Boom!
The war spear pierced the s.h.i.+eld with a powerful and unparalleled force. Then, like a hot knife cutting through b.u.t.ter, it thrust its way towards Stuart's head.
