"Hahaha! Little pups, prepare to learn!"
"Beat them with all of your might!"
The veterans' frontlines were all shouting, their eyes full of excitement. They merely saw the recruits as being sacrificial lambs to them, allowing them to slaughter them at will!
In the past, whenever the recruits and veterans had fought against each other, the recruits had always been defeated. Hence, the veterans' confidences were high.
The 500 veterans surged forward like ferocious lions, ready to rush in and slaughter the little sheep recruits...
"Everyone, spread out!" Steve shouted.
Crash...
Nearly 5,000 recruits quickly dispersed and avoided the battalion of veterans who had just rushed forward to kill them. The recruits formed a circle, surrounding and trapping all of the veterans inside it.
Many veterans now saw that they had underestimated the recruits, seeing that these youngsters were really like hungry wolves! Several of them rushed at the recruits in groups.
However, the recruits dispersed again. The group of 5,000 separated into smaller groups of 100 people, then further split into groups of 50 people. When the veterans realized what was happening, they suddenly found that their comrades-in-arms were far away from them! They were trying to divide and conquer them!
At the moment, each veteran was surrounded by nearly 10 recruits. Thus, their ranks of 500 were divided.
"This is not good! We've fallen into their trap!"
"They want to divide us, not letting us work together as a team."
Some of the veterans saw Steve's tactics and immediately rushed to their nearest comrade-in-arms to join forces. After all, cooperation was the most important factor for teams. If they were to be separated, it would be difficult to exert the greatest advantage in such group battles.
It was only through excellent cooperation with their teammates that they would have a chance to win. Unfortunately, since the recruits camp had already taken great pains to split the veterans up, they would not give them another chance to form teams and cooperate with each other.
Just as one of the veterans was attempting to rush to the side to gather with his teammates, two of the recruits suddenly rushed forward. One of them was holding a s.h.i.+eld in front of him.
"Get out of my way!" the veteran shouted angrily, as he gathered all of his strength and prepared to punch the recruits.
Right then, another recruit suddenly appeared behind the veteran, like an a.s.sa.s.sin, and stabbed towards him with a sword. A look of panic appeared on the veteran's face, as he drew back his fist hastily and whipped around to defend himself, fending off the a.s.sa.s.sin who was behind him with a single punch.
However, several other recruits had also rushed forward, some of them setting off smoke bombs, some using hidden weapons, and others forming groups of twos or threes to charge forward together. They used these various means of attacks to force the veterans to retreat continuously.

As the new recruits were not as strong as the veterans in terms of individual strength, even if ten of them were to fight against one veteran, their combat powers might still not be as strong as their opponent's. But, the recruits were a team that knew how to cooperate with each other, each possessing their own characteristics and skills. It was precisely this that caused the veterans to be forced into their present predicament, as they couldn't deal with the recruits at that moment!
Back in the conference room, the officers and the instructors could not help but look surprised when they saw this scene unfolding before their eyes. None of them had expected that the battle between the veterans and the recruits would fall into such an awkward situation!
"They were overconfident! They even belittled their enemies."
"This batch of recruits is so cunning, they even know how to split the veterans up, so that they are unable to form teams!"
"It's Steve who is the smart one. He is obviously the one who came up with this idea."
"The plan is a really good one indeed, but the veterans are no fools. They might be at a disadvantage for the time being, but that doesn't mean that they've lost." Chief Instructor Wendy said calmly among the other voices ringing out in the room.
On the battlefield, Steve's plan had been very successful. He had made good use of the anger in the veterans' hearts, as well as their desires to defeat the recruits.
While the veterans had been busy belittling their enemies, he'd split them all up, rendering them unable to fight against the groups of recruits! But, there were still a lot of powerful veterans on the battlefield, and when their strength was strong enough, even Steve's most clever schemes would be in vain.
"Get out of my way, all of you!" Garfield shouted angrily. He then blew up a recruit's s.h.i.+eld with one blow, while simultaneously landing a blow on the recruit's chest with his fist.
The recruit flew off to the side, spewing blood from his lips. He then fell to the ground and blacked out.
As one of the 10 geniuses among the 500 veterans with a basic cell value of 350 points, he was much stronger than the other veterans. As such, the inferior F-grade s.h.i.+eld couldn't block his fists!
He was like a human beast, ripping the cooperation of the 10 recruits apart easily. As he knocked out two of the recruits with three punches, the other eight recruits' faces paled. He was too ferocious and much stronger than them!
"I'll be your opponent!" Just then, a b.u.mblebee Armor flew down from the sky. It was Lucy, who with two sharp slender swords in her hands, quickly stabbed at Garfield's eyes!
Her b.u.mblebee Swords were round in shape, yet they were very sharp because of the special materials that they were made from. Seeing the swords, Garfield's eyes flashed with alarm. He could feel the terrifying sharpness of the blades!
Hence, Garfield backed away. As he did so, the b.u.mblebee Sword flashed past his eyes, and Lucy whipped her leg towards Garfield's head. Garfield raised his right hand to defend himself against Lucy's kick.
Bang!
Lucy's attack was blocked! Although she had the b.u.mblebee Armor to improve her strength, she was still a little weaker than Garfield.
Although armors could add a lot of combat power value, these increases were mainly because of the powerful lethal weapons that were attached to the armor, such as laser weapons, laser guns, micro-missiles and so on. In the absence of such weapons of ma.s.s destruction, the increased combat power value would be greatly reduced, especially if one were to rely solely on the increased strength, speed, and ordinary cold weapons of the armor itself.
In facing the veterans, recruits mainly used armors to enhance their defenses. This meant that, in terms of speed and strength, they'd still be a little weaker. This was why Connell had agreed to Steve's request that the recruits be allowed to use armor and robots.
"You're too naive if you think that you can defeat me with just one suit of armor!" Garfield sneered and suddenly grabbed Lucy's ankle.
