Steve wanted to explore the "Claw Storm Attack," which was a skill that he had newly acquired. But right now, he did not have the time to observe it carefully.

Something had happened, when he rushed into the pa.s.sageway, attempting to kill the White Flame Cat. Stuart and Sophia were coincidentally at the same pa.s.sageway and saw a shadow darting out, who killed the White Flame Cat instantly.

The killer was a man with a clown mask. He had appeared as though he was the G.o.d of War, killing the almost invincible White Flame Cat with his sword in just a single move! This scene brought a huge shock to both of them!

After all, they had seen how powerful the White Flame Cat was. Had it not been for the fact that they had brought along strong weapons, they would be no match for it!

However, the mysterious man had killed the nearly invincible White Flame Cat suddenly, and by a single sword move! From the time the White Flame Cat entered into the pa.s.sageway to the time it was killed, it took less than 10 seconds!

What made them most afraid, was that the man wearing the clown mask exuded a horrific odor, a scent that could only be from someone greater than a level one evolved being. After witnessing the White Flame Cat being killed in a single sword move, they felt the scent of horror coming from Steve's body.

Both of them were mistaken in thinking that Steve, who was the one wearing the clown mask on his face, was a mysterious level one evolved being. Their faces turned pale. Had they known that there was a level one evolved being at the lower level, they would not have dared to approach the treasure. It was obvious that both of them had misunderstood this situation entirely.

In actuality, Steve had activated the blood crystals to give himself the same scent as Collic, who was a level one demon. This had led Sophia and Stuart to mistake Steve for a level one evolved being.

Coupled with seeing Steve kill the White Flame Cat in a single sword move, the shocking effect of the entire situation had caused them to become even more disillusioned. Both parties looked at each other in awkward silence.

Sophia and Stuart were mistakenly thinking that the man wearing the clown mask in front of them was a level one powerhouse, while, on the other hand, Steve was nervous and tense. In fact, his legs went weak and started to tremble!

Thus, a new problem had arisen before the old one was solved. It had never occurred to Steve that, immediately after he battled the White Flame Cat, he would meet the two of them! With Steve's current strength, he knew that he would not be a match for the both of them.

"You guys are also here to look for the treasure?"

Steve's voice sounded hoa.r.s.e. His fear made his throat feel dry. He coughed and spoke in a husky voice. However, when this cold and husky voice was heard by Stuart and Sophia, it sounded as if the G.o.d of death were summoning them. They even thought that Steve was going to kill them!

"Brother... brother... we were just pa.s.sing by..." Stuart's voice trembled. He continued to speak with fear in his voice, "We did not know that there were treasures here... we really did not know..."

Steve looked over and frowned. His mask, which had been made by nanotechnology, felt like another face, which was stuck onto his own face, so every move he made was vivid. He was frowning because he did not understand why Stuart was afraid.

When the pair saw the frown, they thought that Steve was unhappy with Stuart's answer, or that he had perhaps seen through his lies. As such, Stuart's legs went weak in fear.

Stuart then knelt down on his knees and begged, "I was wrong! I shouldn't have lied! We knew that there was treasure here. For G.o.d's sake, please don't kill me!"

Sophia was scared too, but her reaction was not as weak as Stuart's. In fact, the mere sight of Stewart's reaction filled her eyes with scorn.

"Senior, we can do without the treasure and everything else here, so please let us live," said Sophia.

Steve froze for a while, thinking before he chose to react.

"I am now as coercive as Collic, a level one evolved being. Moreover, I was able to kill the White Flame Cat with a single sword move. Have they misunderstood me as being a level one evolved being myself?" Steve muttered to himself.

As genes continue to evolve, the organisms also undergo a metamorphosis. The body's gas field also changes. Just like with the G.o.ds and mortals, the higher the realm, the more obvious the difference in the organism grade becomes. As such, the lower-grade organism would feel the pressure near the energy field of the higher-grade organism.

Steve's energy field, which was similar to that of a level one evolved being, could not be faked. This was the exact reason that the pair had gotten their hypothesis about him all wrong. Steve quickly figured that this was the perfect moment for pretense...

He drew his long sword, and the corpse of the White Flame Cat fell off of it instantly. Once the White Flame Cat died, its body ballooned up, becoming three or four times the size of a common cat.

Steve then neatly packed the corpse of the White Flame Cat in his bag, while saying in an indifferent tone, "I came to kill Collic, but have not had the chance to meet him yet. The two of you are lucky to have not b.u.mped into him. Do not breathe a word about what happened today, do you understand?"

Steve held his sword and stared at them. He exuded an aura of a top master. Sophia and Stuart were so frightened, they trembled and made a vow to keep the secret instantly.

"We swear to G.o.d, we won't say anything!" Stuart said hastily.

"Senior, rest a.s.sured. We will never say a word about today. We have seen nothing and know nothing!" said Sophia.

"Yes! Right! We did not see anything!" Stuart said.

Steve saw how frightened the two of them looked, which caused a cold smile to spread across his face. He then said, "Actually, it's okay if you disclose what you saw. But, if I find out about it, I will kill you myself."

The two of them were so frightened, they almost fell on the ground. Nothing was more intimidating than him at this moment!

At this point, Steve disregarded the reaction of the two, turning his back on them and walking towards the exit. Stuart and Sophie stood motionless in shock, watching until Steve disappeared at the exit, before finally breathing a sigh of relief.

Sophie sat down immediately and said with fear, "Good thing he is not a killer, or the two of us would be dead!"

"Darn! We worked so hard to gather so much information and were ready to seize Collic's treasure while he wasn't there. We never expected to meet a level one evolved being here," Stuart said reluctantly.

They had prepared for a long time for this day, even having borrowed several powerful weapons.

"Perhaps, there are still more treasures in there?" Sophia said suddenly.

Stuart felt rejuvenated by her words and said, "Let's go take a look!"

Both of them rushed down to the bas.e.m.e.nt's level two, thinking that perhaps the man in the clown mask had not taken a particular liking to some of the treasure and had left it behind! But, as they arrived at level two, they were stunned by what they saw.

There, a silver light-emitting gorilllike robot was lying on the ground. They quickly recognized the model of the robot.

"This is an F-Cla.s.s 1001 robot! Its strength is much stronger than an average full-cell activation being," Stuart said fearfully. "This Robot Thunderbolt Gorilla is stronger than even the White Flame Cat. It's showing no signs of damage, besides the brain, indicating that a single sword move must have destroyed the brain!"

Hearing this, Sophie's forehead broke out in cold sweat. She then said, "Fortunately, we did not provoke that senior, otherwise we would be dead!"
