Instructor Wendy's speech lasted for half an hour.

As the recruits listened to the rise and fall of Blue Star over the course of 2000 years, the crowd became emotionally charged as righteous indignation filled their chests. Over the course of 2000 years, even though the aliens could not invade Blue Star on a large scale, they had opened several s.p.a.ce points and a few of the aliens were already stationed on Blue Star. They relied on their advanced technology and genetic mutation to suppress humankind. If it were not for the fact that the aliens had to pay a huge price when entering Blue Star, they would already have fully colonized it. However, the aliens had changed Blue Star's atmosphere, causing cosmic force to gush into Blue Star.

Cosmic force was the source of evolution for all substances. Humans absorb cosmic force to strengthen their cells, resulting in genetic evolution and making them stronger and smarter. The strongest beings' brains could work faster than the speed of light. They were unafraid of even atomic bombs, faster than the speed of sound, and equipped with strength that could destroy mountains.

"I hope that you can all become as strong as them in order to protect humankind—to protect Blue Star!" Chief Instructor Wendy said. "Now, let the final a.s.sessment begin. Come up to the ring when your name is called. I must remind all of you again that once you are in the ring, your life shall be the in the hands of destiny, and it's not too late to back out now."

The ground split apart to reveal a ginormous ring rising towards the sky, and in the middle of the ring was a huge metal cage with an enormous six-foot-tall black wolf trapped inside it.

"Recruit 5001, fall out!" said Instructor Leikas.

"Yes!"

"Recruit 5001, do you dare take on the final a.s.sessment?"

"For humankind, I am willing!" He jumped up onto the ring without hesitation, and as the gates of the metal cage were opened, the six-foot-tall gigantic black wolf was released, all the while glaring at recruit 5001 ferociously. The fight began immediately!

It was a fight to the death and quickly the first blood was spilled onto the ring. Some of the recruits watched with ashen faces, their hearts thumping with fear. Even though they'd had three entire months of training, they'd never experienced a fight to the death before, not to mention fighting off a ferocious magical beast.

Magical beasts are mutated life forms. The blackfrost wolf is only an ordinary magic beast and yet it has such frightening destructive powers. What of the stronger magical beasts then?

Steve's facial expression was grim. Blue Star's evolution hierarchy was the same as in the game version. They were divided into normal humans, evolved beings, the supernaturals, and the realm G.o.ds. Those who were not genetically evolved were normal humans. Above the normal humans were the evolved beings, who had unlocked their genetic straitjacket and were able to push their cells to grow past their limits.

Under the absence of cosmic forces, human cells generated very little strength. Even during the Olympics, when athletes managed to break records time and again, the human cells' potential had never been fully tapped into, just like the human brain, where we only use a small part of it. Without cosmic forces, it was impossible to unleash the full potential of the cells, reaching 100%.

Evolved beings were ranked from levels one to five, and the difference in strength between each level was huge. Above the evolved beings were the supernaturals. The supernaturals were scary beings, unafraid of atomic bombs, and could reach speeds faster than the speed of light. They were considered walking atomic bombs, like superheroes in the movies. The supernaturals were split into three main states, and they were the strongest state amongst humankind.

As for the realm G.o.ds, they were ranked above the supernatural. But even Steve was unsure as to how powerful they were because there was no information or description regarding the realm G.o.ds' level. Steve even suspected that the gaming company had yet to set the level for realm G.o.ds.

"Recruit 9527, it's your turn!" the six-foot-tall instructor Leikas, with arms as thick as tree trunks, looked at Steve beside him with a straight face through black sungla.s.ses and said. Steve frowned as he looked at the newly released huge black wolf at the other end.

"Steve, it's your turn! Do you wish to back out?" Instructor Leikas said sharply. "Could it be that you're scared and afraid to go up, Steve?"

"Hahaha, every time Steve fights he loses, so it's not surprising that he would be frightened by this a.s.sessment. It is a matter of life or death, after all."

"Steve, just give up if you're frightened and be the coward that you are."

The crowd of recruits began to murmur among themselves as they looked at the unmoving Steve. This a.s.sessment was different from all the other practice fights. This time, they would be required to fight a real magical beast and they could actually die! During one of the previous a.s.sessments, someone was cut open in the stomach, with his guts falling out of the wound, while another person had his arms and legs ripped off. Unless the recruit chose to give up themselves, the instructors would not help them during the fight.

Steve was silent for a long time, war raging within his heart. He just time traveled here and did not wish to die here, but how could he just give up like that?

"I wish to take up the challenge!" Steve's eyes were sharp and determined as he chose to accept the challenge after hesitating. With a light leap, Steve was standing in the ring, and the cage holding the humongous wolf beast was facing him.

Buzzzzz!

Right at this moment, Steve was stunned as something flashed across his brain.

"Heart of the Universe activated… successfully remembered the choice, begin merging!" Steve's brain was suddenly flooded with tons of data and information that he could not understand.

"The heart of the Universe… records all the information within the universe." Right at this moment, Steve felt his brain filling with endless information and data, forming a heart shape in the end.

"The Heart of the Universe contains all the information within the universe, what does that mean?" Steve was perplexed as the voice sounded again.

The game's data layout suddenly appeared in front of Steve's eyes. Without understanding exactly what was happening, the humongous black wolf was already free from its cage.

"Grrrr!" the huge wolf raised his head and bellowed, emanating menacing vibes as the metallic tang of blood a.s.saulted everyone's noses. Right then, an influx of data appeared in front of Steve's eyes.
