The three-day certification examination finally came to a close, the bell sounding to officially mark its end.

Dong!

"The time is up for the third round of certification examination. Everyone, stop refining your serums!" Alex announced loudly.

The security guards standing at the sides immediately stopped all of the apprentices. Not all of the apprentices' three hundred portions of the serum had been completed within the time limit.

Thus, the whole place was filled with wailing and crying. Steve, however, had already finished refining his portion of serum and had been quietly waiting for the end of the examination.

"Everyone, stay where you are. We will check your serums and success rates one at a time," Alex said.

The examination room was divided into six rows, with more than 50 people in each row. The six examiners started checking the serums, one by one, starting from the front. Luckily, they were fast and made quick progress.

In the third round of the certification examination, in addition to the success rate, the quality of the serum was also very important. As such, the quality of the refined serum must reach at least the ordinary grade criteria. If the quality was inferior, it would be considered a failure.

"Bolt. Three bottles of Fermi serum, two bottles of inferior quality and one bottle of ordinary quality, with a success rate of 1%. Two bottles of Fortin serum, both of ordinary quality and a success rate of 2%. Subatomic Serum, none, success rate of 0%. Fail..." When Alex announced Bolt's results, Bolt burst into tears and pleaded with Alex to give him another chance.

Unfortunately, the certification examination was ruthless, allowing for no second chances. Even if the other two serums were up to the standard, as long as one did not meet the standard, it would still be considered a total failure.

The inspection continued. Out of more than 300, there were only a few apprentices that had all three serums actually pa.s.s the standard criteria.

Some people became very frustrated, while some were all too willing to concede defeat. Some wailed loudly, and there were even some who went crazy and had to be dragged away by security!

Many of the apprentices stayed to await the results, even after they had been examined, as they wanted to find out who had pa.s.sed the certification examination. They particularly were interested in finding out whether Earl, Daniel, or Catherine would finish with the best results.

Even though Daniel had done a little better than Earl in the previous two rounds, this advantage did not really matter much in regards to refining the serum. Therefore, it was still unknown who would do better than the other. And, if they were honest, many of the apprentices also stuck around to see hopefully Steve running around naked!

Just then, it was Daniel's turn to be checked...

"Daniel. Five bottles of Fedin serum, four bottles of ordinary quality and one bottle of premium quality with a success rate of 5%. Three bottles of Marti serum of ordinary quality with a success rate of 3%. Two bottles of Subatomic Serum of ordinary quality with a success rate of 2%," Alex announced Daniel's result. "The success rate of all the serums are more than 1%. Hence, 14.5 guild points is awarded. Congratulations to Daniel in becoming a certified F-grade pharmacist!"

Alex smiled and shook hands with Daniel. A wide smile spread across Daniel's face, as he had finally became an official pharmacist!

This was followed by a loud round of applause. After all, the birth of every certified pharmacist was something worthy of a celebration!

"Wow….14.5 points is the highest score so far!"

"So powerful!"

"Sure enough, Daniel didn't let us down! He is the rising star of the n.o.bles!"

Even though Daniel was used to being flattered by others, this time he was more pleased than ever, hearing the adoring comments from the others. After today, he would be an official pharmacist, and his future and status in life would change dramatically.

After he enjoyed the moment of joy, Daniel then looked at Steve and sneered. "Linken, get ready to run around naked!"

At this time, others were looking at Steve with a teasing look. More than 100 people were waiting to be inspected, among whom only Daniel had more than 10 acc.u.mulated points, while the others only managed to just barely meet the standard.

Even if Steve was lucky enough to pa.s.s the F-grade pharmacist certification, his scores were unlikely to be higher than Daniel's. Many of the apprentices knew this as well, so began mocking Steve in antic.i.p.ation of his losing the bet.

"Haha, it's going to be fun to watch Linken run around naked!"

"It's going to be on the headline news tomorrow!"

The inspection continued. With the exception of Daniel's outstanding performance, which caused a great stir, the others performed much worse than him.

Finally, it was Catherine's turn to be inspected by Alex. If she had not been absent due to her sickness, she would already have pa.s.sed the certification examination. Knowing this, the crowd was very curious to know how many points she could get.

"Catherine. Four bottles of Wyett serum of ordinary quality with a success rate of 4%. Eight bottles of Moore serum, six bottles of ordinary quality and two bottles of premium quality with a success rate of 8%. Three bottles of Subatomic Serum of ordinary quality with a success rate of 3%," Alex announced. "Congratulations to Catherine on becoming a certified F-grade pharmacist, earning a reward of 23 Guild points!"

Alex smiled and shook Catherine's hand. Catherine remained calm and showed no fluctuations in her mood. She seemed to have antic.i.p.ated that she would pa.s.s the certification.

"Thank you," Catherine responded softly.

There was another round of applause and jubilation from the crowd, as they were shocked by Catherine's 23 points score, which was much higher than Daniel's. However, even in the face of the crowd's astonishment, Catherine still remained calm.

The inspection went on. It was now Earl's turn. His results were just as spectacular.

"Earl. Seven bottles of Fedin serum, five bottles of ordinary quality and two bottles of premium quality with a success rate of 7%. Four bottles of Healing serum, three bottles of ordinary quality and one bottle of premium quality with a success rate of 4%. One bottle of Subatomic Serum with a success rate of 1%. Congratulations to Earl on becoming a certified F-grade pharmacist, earning a reward of 18 Guild points." Alex smiled and shook Earl's hand in celebration.

Earl had a full of smile on his face and a smug look in his eyes. He also looked provocatively at Daniel. It was as if he was proclaiming his own victory.

Daniel's face suddenly grew gloomy. He had never expected that he would earn less Guild points than Earl. Applause broke out, but this time, they were accompanied by some rumblings among the crowd.

"Earl actually managed to surpa.s.s Daniel in the last round of examination! He is really a genius."

"Earl was always smarter. After finis.h.i.+ng refining a bottle of Subatomic Serum, he put more energy into refining the other serums and earned as many points as he could that way."

"Daniel miscalculated. If he did had not concentrated so much on the Subatomic Serum, he might have gotten a higher score than Earl."

Earl's tactic for his refinery of the serum was mainly based on earning more points. So, he did not waste a lot of time on the Subatomic Serum like the others, which resulted in his earning more points.

"Huh! Winning by pulling off little tricks cannot be considered a talent," Daniel said defiantly.

Not long after Earl's turn had ended, it was finally Steve's turn. Once again, the gazes of the crowd turned to Steve. They wondered if this young lad, who always got into trouble, would manage to refine any serum or not.
