Shadow used beastmen against themselves as in using them as s.h.i.+elds. She would dodge an attack or throw them into another beastman's strike.
Out of nowhere a trench with a ma.s.sive stone wall erected on both sides leading out of the crowd of beastmen. Shadow used it and ran down it. The ditch led to the building.
When Shadow ran in, she saw Leo, and they nodded at each other. They ran out the other end of the building, and Leo set off a detonator. The beastmen who ran after them died in an explosion.
"STOP!"
A powerful force of wind whipped around and grabbed Shadow and Leo and lifted them into the air.
The great chill Leo felt earlier was this beastman locking them down.
"You think we would let Tigra handle an issue this big. I was sent here as insurance." This male feline variant was floating in the air. He was orange and black stripes.
"What is this a human at the Mana Fighter level? Wait..." The beastman remember his brother had a human in his arena that escaped. He also used earth element like this human.
"Human, you were the one who escaped the Colosseum up north, and you are one of our kind." The powerful cultivator looked at Shadow with disappointment.
"You are a disgrace to beastmen kind, and I'm going to execute you here on the spot."
"No don't." Leo shot the beastman a look of anger. He knew if this human had the ability, he would kill him on the spot. Those eyes felt like knives directed at him.
The beastman was angered. How dare this weakling give him that look. "Human, you shall understand you have no power to tell anyone what to do."
Channeling wind the beastman unleashed a wind blade towards Leo. The last thing Leo looked at was this cultivator glare at him. The wind blade slashed Leo horizontally across the face. In one attack Leo lost his eyesight.
"Aghhh..." Blood dripped down his face. Shadow didn't know what to do. She was a peak Core Builder and still was powerless. A tear fell from her cheek. Her friend returned to save her, and he paid for her actions.
"Hahaha...good. Good. Now, I don't have to look at those defiant eyes anymore." The beastman laughed at Leo. He wouldn't kill the boy. He would save that for his brother, but that didn't mean he wouldn't arrive in one piece.
"If I remember correctly, you didn't stay this hand when you were told too. So, I don't think you need it. Wind Blade!" An edge of air sliced off Leo's left hand.
"Aghh...d.a.m.n you." Leo clutched his missing hand with his right trying to stop the bleeding. Leo was starting to go into shock.
Using the wind, the beastman dried the blood and clotted Leo's wounds. The beastman didn't want him to die so soon.
If Leo could see right now, he would see an eerie smile on the beastman. All the beastmen below flinched in fear. They all feared this man in the air. He was known as Wind Demon of the beastmen race. He was Unit 2.
"Human, you killed your way into this area. I don't think you need that other hand."
"No... no... agghhhhhhhh..." Leo's right hand was sliced off. Blood seeped out but then was clotted by the wind again. Shaking uncontrollably, Leo just wanted it to end. Why was he so weak? No matter what he does, he is always captured, and his friends killed.
"Please, Unit 2, don't hurt the boy anymore. I killed Unit 737. Punish me."
"Shut your mouth your mouth!" A wind blade was thrown at Shadow and slash across her throat.
*Swoos.h.!.+ *
Shadow's eye got big, and fresh blood flowed from her neck. Unit 2 cooled her throat before she bled out. She laid there lifeless and frustrated. She was going to fail her promise to Lycan in protecting Leo.
"Now that she is silenced. Wind blade." *Swoosh. * The wind attack slashed off Leo's left forearm. This time he didn't scream, his anger and pain threshold was already past.
Unit 2 started to form another Wind Blade.
*Swoos.h.!.+ *
The right forearm was slashed off. Leo thought this is how he would die.
"I'm getting bored. I'm going to slice off rest in one go." Multiple blades formed in the air. With a flick of his hand, all the edges were thrown at Leo.
A blinding flash of light s.h.i.+ned from Leo's miniature Gada. Two spirits flew out. "Leo..." Tears appeared in Durga's eyes.
"Let's save our disciple together." Mahisha and Durga blocked the winds blade. These two peak warriors appeared they stunned Unit 2. The two channeled all their mana and launched a mana blast at the beastman.
The point-blank attack threw unit 2 kilometers away. "Please protect Leo..." Mahisha said to Shadow. Slowly the two spirits faded away. Training Leo for a year and using a combined attack used the last bit of their life source. Shadow grabbed Leo as they fell and took off running one, they landed on the ground.
The beastmen were in hysteria. The second strongest beastman was just blasted away the second strongest beastman in their race.
Shadow looked down at the body she was carrying. He was blinded and missing both him arms all because he tried to save her. Even though she was carrying Leo, the running reopened her wound. She would rather die than let the beastmen catch them.
Shadow left Deathclaw Valley as soon as possible. The aircrafts and hovercrafts could catch them if she slowed down even a little bit.
Shadow ran for the next ten hours straight until all her mana was drained. She collapsed in a field, and Leo rolled forward. Panting heavily and bleed profusely, she couldn't move another inch.
She looked up and saw a herd of beast coming towards them before she finally fell unconscious. This was their end.
