Sitting with his big stony legs crossed, Leo started to cultivate. The laws of the elements were similar here in this realm, but at the same time, they were different.
Leo decided to focus on earth laws since he was stone and everything around him.
A shadowy mouse outside his room was moving down the hallway. The creature was small and running down the corridor to Leo's caged room. The mouse came upon Leo's place and slipped under the door.
The arrival of this new shadow alerted Leo and had him stand up and go into a battle stance.
The mouse started to speak. "Newcomer, stand down. This creature is a subject of mine. My name is Supay."
Leo was blown away with surprise after surprise. He didn't even know who to trust anymore. For some reason, he felt like this mouse was a trap.
"Your name was Leo correct?"
"Yes...How do you know this?"
"I had this little fellow hide in the temple when you were talking with Inti."
Hearing the mouse call the sun-mask golem by his name meant that Supay treated Inti as an equal and wasn't a subordinate of his.
Supay or Leo didn't say anything else and sat there in deep thought. Supay decided to break the silence. "I know you can't trust me, but maybe I can tell you about Inti so you won't trust him either."
Leo figured why not and nodded his big boulder head.
"Long time ago, a human by many names came to our continent. He was a peak Construct Evolution and had mastered abilities far beyond normal ability. We refer to him as Viracocha. He created this realm so his people could live their lives without the threat of human diseases. As people would come to the end of their lives, he would use his va.s.sals the Apu to send his people to live in Ukhu Pacha. Viracocha had three disciples. Their names are Inti, a yang mana cultivator, Quilla, a yin mana cultivator, and Pachacamac, a life and death mana cultivator."
Supay voice got quieter when he mentioned the name Pachacamac. This meant that he must have a relations.h.i.+p with Pachacamac. Leo finally interjected and asked, "Was Pachacamac special to you?"
Supay was caught off guard at Leo's accusation, but he said, "Yes. He and Mama Pacha are my Master and Mistress."
Leo nodded and understood. He also had a Master and Mistress. They gave him something he never had, and that was a family. That sadness must mean Supay hasn't seen them in a long time.
"Can you please continue with the story?"
"Yes...So a great war broke out with a neighboring clan. Upon winning, Viracocha became a recluse. He felt ashamed for wiping out an entire clan, and he bore that responsibility himself. Upon exiting 50-year reclusion, he told his disciples he would be ascending to Hanan Pacha, the heavens. He gave Pachacamac and his new wife, Mama Pacha, sovereignty over Ukhu Pacha. He gave sovereignty over Kay Pacha, the kingdom, to Inti and Mama Quilla."
The thing Leo didn't understand was when mana vanished why they came to this location. "Inti asked me if mana returned. Why is that important to him?"
"The story not there yet." Supay cleared his throat, and it sounded very human-like and not what a mouse or golem sounded like.
"Pachacamac and Mama Pacha used an ancient artifact to transport their human bodies and all to Ukhu Pacha. They brought with them, two disciples, Piguerao and I. Mama Pacha built the cities and homes for the surviving golems. Pachacamac created a new race of shadow animals such as the mouse before you. After ruling this new land for 100 years, Master felt it was time for his breakthrough. Mistress, Piguerao, and he used the artifact to transport back to Kay Pacha leaving Supay in charge of Uhku Pacha."
The mouse went quiet for an extended period. This next part was difficult for Supay to tell, but he knew Leo would need the full story to sway him to join forces with him.
"Upon return to Kay Pacha, many things happened. War, famine, and disasters waged upon our kingdom. A traveling oracle warned our people that mana would disappear forever, Inti and Mama Quilla killed the oracle for spreading the false prophecy. Soon mana did disappear and many traveled here for refuge. Six golems with power on par with mine arrived. Inti, Mama Quilla, Catequil, Mama Cocha, Urcaguary, and Mistress. The only problem was Mistress no longer remembered who she was or who I was."
"Where these the six golems in the temple?"
"Yes."
This made sense. Each one of the golems was Construct Evolution warrior. The elements Leo felt from each one kind of told him what they were proficient at.
"Once, they arrived they declared themselves the new rulers of this land and chased me out. I was outnumbered and couldn't fight my Mistress. That is where you come in. You are the key for them to return to Kay Pacha. Using either the transport artifact or stealing your body."
When Leo heard they might steal his body, he started to worry.
"Don't trust Inti. He will do anything to return to earth. I need to find out where they have the artifact. I will return once this creature finds it." Supay told the mouse to leave and find the artifact. He also wanted Leo to digest all he told him so he could choose for himself to believe.
Sensing that the mouse left, Inti told Mama Cocha to go in and speak with the newcomer to sway him from siding with Supay.
A golem with a bluish-green stone fish helmet entered Leo's chamber. "h.e.l.lo, newcomer. We know Supay paid you a visit. Do not trust that trickster. He has deceived you into not trusting us. We are only keeping you here to let us trust you more. We are worried about what you would do if we let you roam free."
"Then why don't you just accompany me as I walk around."
Mama Cocha received a notification from Inti telling her it was alright. "His Excellency said it would be alright. Please follow me. I will show you around."
