Chapter 86: Skyfall: Hidden Troubles

Draig hadn't found any Awakened since entering the forest, it was odd to him as they hadn't entered far away from each other so he was curious as to how this came to be . However what he had encountered were Demons like the Plant creature and it was unfortunate for them that they had run into the Heir of Feratu .

"Ha, Demons are this weak?" barked Draig as he casually knocked a fist to the side as this bat like Demon attempted to gouge his eyes in a horrid dive attack .

The Demon growled menacingly and attempted to life back into the air but Draig pulled it into the ground before shredding it's wings .

"There, now we can have a nice little chat . " chuckled Draig as he sat upon the creatures back .

"W-What do you want" rasped the Bat Demon .

"Answers, I met a plant Demon not that long ago who had made a mention of the Feratu . I wish to know the connection you Demons have with this name" stated Draig as he watched the Bat Demon begin to sweat .

"I do not know, I am but a youngling" spoke the Bat Demon quickly .

"A shame then" answered Draig before picking the poor beast up and biting into it's body as it began to shrivel into a husk .

Another set of pulsing set off in Draig's blood causing him to grow stronger .

"This forest is like a market, where even the most diluted of these Demon's blood carries enough of the Devil's influence to strengthen my body and energy" chuckled Draig as he left another husk in his path .

Zarra was following these Husks as he looked for his son, he no longer worried himself over the Skyfall as he had gained something of great value already but now he wanted answers and there was only one person he knew he could get them from for certain .

'd.a.m.n it Draig, stop this madness already . " thought Zarra as he accidentally stepped on one of the Husks causing into to turn to dust .

However the Young Feratu had no intentions of stopping as he felt the diluted Devil's blood in the Demons starting to form together inside him and darken his blood while purging the impurities that lied in his Feratu Bloodline . These impurities were obvious due to the fact that the Founder's blood was black, the Devils blood was black, thus in Draig's mind in order to become stronger and have truly pure blood . He must Blacken his essence and removed the crimson .

Suddenly the Feratu swung his sword to the side only to find it captured causing him to turn his head to see Zarra .

"What are you doing here" asked Draig inspecting the new tool attached to the mage's socket as an arm .

"I'm here for answers" smiled Zarra as he tried to summon his magic only to see it wasn't working .

"What the" started Zarra causing Draig to raise a brow .

"What are you going on about" asked Draig looking at the man oddly .

"My magic . . . . it's gone" stated Zarra with a shocked look as he had just barely used it before looking for Draig .

"Ha, a pity it is to be you" smirked Draig as he turned around and continued his journey seemingly unaffected .

"Wait" called Zarra now unsure of his chances surviving in this place without his magic as a.s.surance .

"What is it mage" asked Draig with a knowing smile .

"Can I come with you . . . . . I am rather defenseless without my magic" explained Zarra though he said it with such a straight face that Draig admitted he was impressed .

"Very well but do not interfere, I am looking for answer's of my own" stated Draig as the two then set off but unknown to them it wasn't only Zarra who had found failure with his magic .

The rest of the Awakened were facing the same problem, it seemed that only Draig was unaffected by this odd event well except for the forces in the distance .

Kira and his people who had received cla.s.ses and skills from Draig were also unaffected by whatever had changed in the forest . Kira and his pack killed and collected relentlessly taking blood samples along the way .

"Men, the Master is close . So let us carry forth and bring bountiful gifts to welcome him back" roared Kira as his figure dashed through the forest like a scythe through the gra.s.s cutting any in his path .

However like everyone else, the people in the Towns.h.i.+p found themselves reverted back to humans and Sylvie and Sherry were also reverted to normal while Sylvie's large sword disappeared .

"Sister, Sylvie is confused" stated the blank faced girl with a tint of fear to her voice .

"I don't know what happened either, it's best if we stay together and wait for Draig's signal" called out Winter seeming to snap the panicking people to attention .

"She's right, even without a cla.s.s the Boss is super strong" came a voice before the others also began to murmur in agreement .

It seemed these people believed they could in fact rely on Draig to come to their rescue .

However meanwhile with Draig and Zarra, the Feratu watched as Zarra failed to even damage another demon .

"What happened to all that power you boasted with your stats" complained Draig as his wooden sword snapped and he was forced swipe the stupid creature with his claws forcing it to grab it's throat .

"None of that" chuckled Draig prying the Demon's hands away so he could have his fill and soon another husk was left on the forest floor .

"I don't know what's happening, did you alter the Cla.s.s system" demanded Zarra as that reveal was still haunting him .

"You mean the Silent G.o.d" asked Draig smirking as he could see the Mage had turned around to believe his words .

"I have done no such thing, though the idea has crossed my mind before . I haven't yet figured out how to alter it in it's current condition" smirked Draig but then it seemed to click .

"The system is shut down" stated Draig remembering the message that had been stated the previous day causing Zarra's eyes to widen as he instantly thought of the other's in the forest .

"It seem's I am going to be the biggest winner after all" laughed Draig loudly as he forced another blood Gem from his switching his cla.s.s to Celestial fox and then quickly splitting himself into several copies .

He wasn't very sure about why he was still able to use cla.s.s skills but he found it to be a perfect opportunity .

"You all know what I am thinking so let us go" stated Draig as each of his ten doubles ran out intent on stealing what they could and collecting some important individuals in the process .

"Draig, do not overstep your bounds . I may be powerless at the moment but that doesn't mean it will last . " stated Zarra having a good idea of what Draig was planning but he was only partially right .

"Mage, remember it could be you becoming my next meal" stated Draig narrowing his eyes at the empty threat .

He and Zarra both knew that the Dark mage would never harm the Heir of Feratu as he cherished his son too much . However it wasn't exactly clear cut if that situation worked in the reverse .

"I know what your doing Draig but remember they could become your power in the future as well" stated Zarra turning his back on his son and leaving into the depths seeming to not care about his own well being .

'They will become my power now' chuckled Draig as he went to look for the Ruth and her side of the Ten Devils .
