The last time Mingyue arrived in G City, she had fallen into the water. Yang Yun was worried that something like that would happen, or worst, they might land in a dangerous place.
However, as Yang Yun opened his eyes, he was relieved to see that trees surrounded them. His first thought was that they must have landed in the woods.
The first thing Yang Yun did when they arrived was to check on Mingyue. Once he was sure that there was not a scratch on her body, Yang Yun let out a sigh in relief.
"I'm fine," Mingyue whispered to a.s.sure him. Seeing the way Yang Yun glanced at her stomach, Mingyue smiled. "Our child is fine."
Yang Yun heaved with relief before he proceeded to kiss his wife on her forehead.
"Do you think we have reached Da Cheng?" Mingyue asked.
"I don't know," Yang Yun said. "We have to walk around and ask."
Just as the couple was about to take a step, they heard a rustle from behind them. Xiao Mi let out a long meow and startling Mingyue.
"Yang Yun, wait!" Mingyue grabbed on his sleeves. She turned around, and her eyes widened as she saw the familiar face. For a while, the three of them were looking at each other in shock.
"Why are you here?" Both Yang Yun and Mingyue asked.
"Why haven't you leave yet?" Li Ran asked.
The three of them spoke at the same time.
There was a long silence between the three of them. Each of them was confused. Li Ran thought that they were still in G City, and Yang Yun and Mingyue had failed to leave because of that one rock while Yang Yun and Mingyue thought that Li Ran was sucked into their world together.
Li Ran snapped out of his thought to look around. It was then that he noticed that Xue Yi Ming and his wife were no longer around. Li Ran began to panic.
At this time, Xiao Mi meowed.
Mingyue followed Xiao Mi's voice before she turned to Li Ran. "You touched the rock?"
"What?" Yang Yun turned to Mingyue.
"The wind blew over the rock. I picked it up to put it back on its place," Li Ran said. His face turned paled. With the black cat's meow and Mingyue's question, he could roughly guess what was going on. "Have I really came to your world accidentally?" His voice sounded like a whisper.
Mingyue exchanged a glance with her husband. She looked around and was sure that they were no longer in G City. The sun shone brightly in the sky, and the surrounding of the woods was different than before.
"We still have to get up and find someone before we verify what was going on," Yang Yun said. He turned to Li Ran and raised a brow. "Can you walk?"
"Of course," Li Ran nodded. He brushed off some dust on his clothes before he followed both Yang Yun and Mingyue. As they walked farther, Li Ran's expression gradually paled.
Although they have not met anyone to verify their location, Li Ran could tell that he was no longer in G City. The air and surroundings were too different.
After walking for almost an hour, the three of them could see a small village up ahead. Looking at the houses, Mingyue exchanged a glance with Yang Yun before they looked at Li Ran in sync.
"I think we're in Eastern Zhou," Mingyue commented. She had visited the area with her grandfather years ago. Although a lot had changed in the village, Mingyue noticed that the tall guard post was still there.
Yang Yun nodded.
Li Ran watched the scenery before him with his mouth agape. "I'm done. I have really traveled to another dimension by accident," Li Ran mumbled to himself. He looked up at Yang Yun and said, "I don't want to stay here. You have to help me to get back."
Yang Yun frowned at his request."It's not that I did not want to help you. But I don't have the power to send you back. Although I can create an array, I cannot guarantee that you will return to your world."
"Then, what do you think we should do?"
"Don't panic," Yang Yun tried to calm his friend. "I will take you to Chief Ye. She should know what to do to help you. After all, the Nanlin tribe was once a traveler."
"Good. I'll listen to you," Li Ran could only nod. His mind went blank, as he did not know what he should do.
"I will go and ask around our whereabouts," Yang Yun said. He turned to his wife, and his gaze softened. "You should stay here with Li Ran and rest."
"I want to come with you," Mingyue said. "I wanted to get a closer look at that village. I don't think I can believe that I have come back to our world before I see things clearly with my eyes."
Yang Yun was about to decline, but as he saw the excitement in Mingyue's eyes, he found that he could not say no to her. "Good. Then, you will stay close to me. If you feel uncomfortable, tell me."
Mingyue nodded.
Then, Yang Yun turned to Li Ran. "What about you? Would you come along, or would you prefer to stay here?"
"I'll come with you!" Li Ran sputtered. He was afraid that if he stayed far from Yang Yun, he might get left behind. He was not familiar with this world. He would not know what to do if they were separated.
Yang Yun rummaged through his bag and took out a black cloak. "I don't have anything that you can change into. Put this on lest we scare the villagers with your outfit. We'll get something suitable for you later."
Li Ran nodded. He wrapped himself in the cloak from head to toe. At least the cloak was bigger enough to cover everything.
Soon, the three of them made their way over the village. Once they arrived, the three of them immediately noticed the festive atmosphere in the village.
Yang Yun stopped a teenage boy to ask their location.
"You're in Da Cheng," the teenage boy answered. He looked at the travelers cautiously and added, "And this is Lu Village."
