But, the little girl nodded her head and started to talk too fast for Gong Xu to follow the content of her explanation, or maybe he didn't really want to know what she had been trough that was why he didn't really try to understand that.

"Enough." He raised his hand because Senja didn't stop talking and fidgeting at the same time, trying to explain something that, apparently, she didn't want to talk about.

When Senja heard that, she abruptly stopped and looked at Gong Xu, jittering. But, then she realized her mistake.

Senja was trying to gain a sympathy from Gong Xu because she didn't have a place to go and hoped Gong Xu would take her with him. Actually, to make someone took a pity on her didn't feel right, but if Gong Xu was going to leave her alone to fend herself, she would be a beggar or ended in the hand of another bandits.

Following Gong Xu was the best choice that she had now.

"Oh, I am sorry…" Senja bit her lips as she grabbed the dry branch and was about to write it on the ground when Gong Xu s.n.a.t.c.hed the dry branch and threw it away.

"I don't need to hear your explanation." He said coldly and leaned his back against the tree behind him, closing his eyes.

The silence that followed made Senja felt awkward.

"Hey." She nudged his legs, which he rewarded with a glare. "What is your name?" Senja asked, slightly backed away by Gong Xu's hostility.

Gong Xu ignored Senja's question as he closed his eyes again, pretending to sleep.

Senja frowned and backed away, she sat opposite him and curled her body in fetal position as she hugged her quilt tightly around her.

Gong Xu opened his eyes again not long after that and saw Senja was fast asleep, she looked very exhausted as she snored softly, her lips opened slightly.

The night wasn't as cold as before, but to sleep in this open area without proper clothes and quilt, it wouldn't be a good thing to do.

Gong Xu contemplated while looking at the girl and to the two horses that tied to a tree, clearly, Senja had thought about this.

And then, Gong Xu's eyes fell on the stuff near those horses.

"Indeed, she is clever." He mumbled to himself, bemused.

However, the question that remained in his head was; why she could do and think this kind of things two steps ahead. For a girl with a background like her, she shouldn't be able to adapt too fast in this situation. But, Senja proved it otherwise.

"I should hear her story earlier…" Gong Xu slightly regretted his ignorance.

Senja woke up with a start when she heard a bustling sound and felt too warm, she rubbed her eyes and the extra quilt fell from her body.

She looked at it and realized it was the quilt that she used for that man, so if the quilt was here, then…

Senja abruptly sat down anxiously and stared at the empty spot where that man was lying down for these past three days, he wasn't there.

That place was empty, indicating that man had left.

Senja couldn't believe it. She was left behind… again.

She didn't know what to do now. She was in the middle of the place that she didn't know, but even if she knew where she was, she still didn't have place to go.

What she has to do now?

She pressed her legs against her chest and hugged them tightly, burying her face on her arms as she sobbed softly.

What she has to do now?

Everyone left her…

Gradually her whimper became a loud cry as her small shoulder shaking by the feeling that she was trying to suppress.

"What are you crying for?"

A voice was sounded above her head as she felt someone nudged her arms.

Senja sniveled as her cry ceased down and took a peek through her wet lashes only to see Gong Xu was crouching down in front of her with furrowed between his brows, looked displeased to see her like that.

He eyed the girl with disgusting looked when Senja snorted and talked between her sob. "I though you have left."

That thought indeed had crossed his mind when he put the blanket around her body, but her confession about being sold made him hesitated.

Moreover, if he left her alone here, how she could find a way home? It didn't mean that he cared about her, he had a lot of things in his mind to think about and he didn't need her to add to her problem.

But, his conscience didn't allow him to do that, at least he would take her home before he continued his journey. About what happened between her and her stepmother, that wasn't his concern.

"Get up, let's go." He said curtly.

Upon hearing that, Senja rubbed her face and smiled, she hurriedly folded the quilt around her and stuffed it to the other things that she had prepared beside the horses.

"Sir, I don't know your name yet." Senja tugged Gong Xu'r sleeves when he put those bags on the back of the horses.

"Your name." Senja repeated her word, mouthing every syllable exaggeratedly.

Gong Xu became more irritated by her action, that was only reminding him that he was a deaf man now, he shoved Senja away. "Gong Xu." He said his name begrudgingly.

"Gong Xu, Sir." Senja called him.

"Just Gong Xu!" At this time, Gong Xu reconsidered his decision to leave her behind. He wasn't that old to be called 'Sir'.

"Gong Xu." Senja said obediently. "If I may know, where we are going?"

"I will send you home." Gong Xu then turned around and mounted one of the horses.

Senja's face pale when she heard that, didn't she already tell him that her stepmother was the one who had made her ended up in this place?

"I don't want to go home." Senja took a step back.

"What are you doing? Get on the horse." Gong Xu looked at the girl impatiently.

"I don't want to go home." Senja mumbled while lowering her head.

"What did you say?" Now Gong Xu became more irritated.

Senja raised and shook her head. "I don't want to go home." She said clearly.

"If you don't want to go home, then I will leave you here." Gong Xu stated callously, he really would do that. "Stop being a child and got on the horse, Black Sword Clan's mansion is so far from here."

However, rather than followed his order, Senja took two steps back. "I don't want to go home." She said pitifully.

Why she had to go home? To be sold again?

"So, what do you want? Follow me?" Gong Xu asked sarcastically, but Senja nodded nonetheless. "I can't bring you with me. You will only be a burden. This is a token from me because you had taken care of me during these past days, but don't ask more, because I am not a good person, I will not be nice." He said harshly.

It was impossible for Gong Xu to bring a little girl like her to his journey, moreover, Commander Dam would be frantic the moment he heard the news about his granddaughter and Gong Xu didn't need unnecessary misunderstanding like that.
