It was one month before Keith and Ginny's wedding. Hayley was looking forward to meet Aaron so she could thank him in person for taking care of her while she was sick. She messaged him that day saying thank you but he didn't reply, Hayley thought he might be very busy with hospital, clinic and all. She thought when Aaron going to come to check on her she would thank him but he didn't shows up instead he send some other doctor to check on her. It had been a week after her fever incident. She was out with Ginny for her wedding dress selection and then she met Aaron. Ginny wanted him to be there, so he had to be there and he couldn't avoid Hayley forever. When Hayley saw him there her eyes lit up, Aaron could see the happiness radiating from her and he felt warm inside but then he felt sad also because he had to crush this happiness of hers. He ignored her when she greeted him, he acted to flinch from her touch when she pa.s.sed him the gla.s.s of juice which was offered by the shop where they were shopping for Ginny's wedding dress, he ignored her when she asked him how does Ginny look all teary eyes after looking at Ginny in her wedding dress. In short, he treated her as if she was not present there. This behavior of Aaron's puzzled Hayely, what did she did that wrong for Aaron to treat her like that, did she said something wrong or did something wrong in the feverish state that p.i.s.sed Aaron off that much that he treated her as air. This odd behavior off Aaron's was not just noticed by Hayley it was also come into Ginny's view. ' what the h.e.l.l happened between these two?' Ginny thought. She needs to talk to Aaron, she needs to thank him, thought Hayley but she never got the chance after the selection of the dress, Aaron left shortly after that. Hayley sighed heavily, she wanted to thank him but he was behaving a bit weird today, maybe next time he was going to be in better mood she could still have chances in future, with that thought Hayley consoled her heart but she didn't know how wrong she was, Aaron continued with this kind of his behavior whenever they met and in past few days they had to meet a lot because of the wedding preparations, when she saw that she won't be able to thank Aaron in person she opted for the technology, she sent him a message through social media and sent him normal messages, to ask if she did something wrong to hurt but she never got the reply. Whenever a message from Hayley popped up in his mobile he felt like a cold hand clutched his heart and with every other message that grip on his heart was tightening and it was becoming difficult for him to breath. Two weeks of Aaron ignoring Hayley and Hayley got the message loud and clear so that when he b.u.mped into her on the lobby of the Keith's company, he panicked he was there to meet Keith because of some business issue but when he saw Hayley walking out form one of the conference rooms he didn't know what would he do to ignore her but this time it was Hayley who ignored him. Hayley clutched the laptop she was holding close to her chest and walked past Aaron, while she walked past him she looked at him for a second and their eyes met and she mumbled her greetings to him " Good afternoon, Dr. Samuel." And she walked off without looking back and for a moment when their eyes met Aaron could see the hurt in her eyes. ' He shouldn't have let things come to this, and he should not care about it." Aaron thought. But the worst thing about telling yourself you don't care is realizing that how much you actually do care.
