When the old woman spotted Shen Yi and Lu Feiran at the other end of the bar—sipping their whiskey, she strode towards them with a smile. She sat across them and helped the bartender by wiping the gla.s.ses clean.

“New faces I see. Welcome to Club Fantasia. You can call me Lady Lang. I’m the owner of the bar,” the old woman introduced herself.

Shen Yi gave a curt nod and ignored her while Lu Feiran smiled back at the old woman.

“Indeed, we are new patrons here. Please don’t mind the rudeness of my friend. He’s not used to visiting a place like this and would prefer to drink alone in a hole he called home,” Lu Feiran said.

Shen Yi glared daggers at him but didn’t say anything and continued to enjoy his drink. He paid attention around them to make sure they wouldn’t encounter problems. However, it was too late for him as a group of women upstairs had taken notice of him and Lu Feiran.

Lady Lang laughed at what Lu Feiran said. She knew these two weren’t simple people as most of her patrons didn’t have an ordinary background, but she knew better than to ask for their real ident.i.ties.

Lu Feiran continued to converse casually with Lady Lang, making the old woman smile and laugh with his stories while Shen Yi kept his silence beside him. It was only after the clock hit midnight that Shen Yi interjected and reminded Lu Feiran they needed to leave for the night.

Just as they were about to leave the place, Shen Yi saw at the corner of his eye that something was about to hit his wife. He pulled Lu Feiran’s upper arm at once and stepped aside. The next second, a shattering gla.s.s resounded within the club, silencing the crowd.

Without wasting time, Shen Yi lifted his head to see the culprit. Two men were descending the stairs with a mocking grin on their faces. They were being followed by five men.

“Sorry about that. Just treat it as our welcome greeting for newbies like you. You weren’t hurt, right?” One of the two men gave Shen Yi and Lu Feiran a condescending look.

Shen Yi looked at them coldly and didn’t respond while Lu Feiran chose to stay behind him, knowing too well that he could not step into trouble.

“No worries. We’re about to leave anyway,” Shen Yi responded.

The man lifted a finger, and his subordinates encircled Shen Yi and Lu Feiran, completely blocking their way out. Lady Lang was worried about her new patrons. However, considering the backing of these thugs always causing trouble in her business, it was hard for her to kick them out completely.

“Hey, no need to leave too soon. Why don’t we compensate you for our rudeness?” The man chuckled.

“Man, so vicious. I bet those two men took the attention of their women that’s why they’re causing troubles,” a guy sitting a few meters from Lu Feiran commented.

“They always cause troubles for Lady Lang. If it wasn’t for their backing, they would’ve been banned to come here a long time ago.”

“There would be a day that they regret messing up with the wrong person.”

“You are going to regret this,” Shen Yi told them. He evaluated the group in front of him. He would need to make sure that Lu Xinyi wouldn’t get hurt by them.

The man chuckled on Shen Yi’s words.

“Brother Lin, this guy has some guts,” he told the other man.

The man called Brother Lin looked smugly at Shen Yi.

“It’s rare to find a man like him. Why don’t we teach the two of them a lesson? What do you think, Brother Fang?”

“Yes. Yes. I agree. We should teach these newbies a lesson they’ll never forget. I’ll let you deal with that guy. Let me play with that girly man behind him.”

Shen Yi scoffed and removed his red coat, throwing it towards Lu Feiran. Lu Feiran caught it easily and raised a brow.

“Just me alone can deal with insects like you.” Shen Yi’s eyes darkened. He would crush the bones of whoever man dares to touch even a single hair strand of his wife.

To be called insects, the two men’s faces dimmed as they were humiliated in public by Shen Yi. They drew in closer, ready to pounce.

One by one, they came towards him with a powerful punch in tow; but none of them managed a hit. Before their punches landed on his body, Shen Yi had already swung his fists and threw powerful kicks that sent the thugs flying in the air, falling on the ground, and limping in pain.

“Oh my G.o.d! Who is this man?! He’s really good! One versus seven, but he completely crushed them so easily!”

“He’s not just a pretty face! I bet the other guy with him isn’t as simple as he is!”

“Lin and Fang really found their match tonight! Wait… this isn’t a match at all!”

Lu Xinyi’s lips formed an ‘O’ from amazement. She knew her husband was a good fighter as she’d seen him in a brawl with his older brother, but she hadn’t seen him fight like this. There was something about how Shen Yi fights that made him more attractive in Lu Xinyi’s eyes.

Too bad though that Shen Yi was too engrossed on it that he didn’t notice that he’d finally found a moment where he had actually beaten food for the number-one spot. At that moment, Lu Xinyi felt proud of having her as her husband. She really wanted to jump on him right now and devour him whole.

As she was busy thinking of how to keep her husband in bed later, the man being called Brother Lin took her as a target. He ran forward and tried to strangle her neck, but before he could manage to touch Lu Xinyi’s slender neck, Shen Yi appeared in front of her—stopping his hand midair. His wrist was painfully gripped by the demon king himself.

There were this coldness and dangerous intent that flashed on Shen Yi’s eyes that made Brother Lin sweat profusely. Just who was this man? Just by looking at him, Brother Lin suddenly thought that all the men he’d beaten before were ants compared to him.

The Brother Lin, who dared to a.s.sault Lu Xinyi, fell into his knees and cried out in pain. He cradled his broken wrist in his other good hand, his face paled in realization. He offended the wrong person this time.

Shen Yi faced his wife and took his coat on her arms. Lu Xinyi blinked twice and didn’t say a word.

“Let’s go. We’re done here,” he said nonchalantly and then led her towards the door.

“You just wait! We’ll find where you are staying and will get back on you!” The thug called Brother Fang shouted behind the couple. Shen Yi didn’t turn back, but Lu Xinyi looked over her shoulder and snickered.

“No need to find us, Brother Fang,” she said with sarcasm, “We’ll be waiting for you at the First Young Master Shen’s residence. Don’t forget to bring your uncle, Chief Fang Zhihao, with you.” Lu Xinyi sneered before completely leaving the place with her husband.

Those who heard what she said went stiff. Did she just say First Young Master Shen’s residence? So Lady Lang’s new patrons came from the Shen family? No wonder those two regarded the group as insects?!
