They watched as the waiters come one by one, leaving the dishes on their table. The single table wasn’t enough to accommodate all, and Ji Mingqian had to push another table to connect with theirs to extend it.

Shen Yi’s phone began to ring, and taking a peek to see who it was, he wasn’t surprised to see that it was his younger brother calling.

“h.e.l.lo,” He only said a word, but Shen Xue cut him off instantly.

“Where are you? I’m here at your house to deliver the reports you asked earlier, but they told me you and Big Sis aren’t home yet. The twins had been pestering me to call you.” Shen Xue complained at the other line.

“Is that Xue?” Lu Xinyi asked as she saw her husband rub his temple. Who else who could irritate her husband like this over the phone except for her brother-in-law.

“We’re eating out,” Shen Yi mumbled. He then realized that their early dinner would be crowded with Shen Xue and the twins joining them, but it was better than to hear another round of complaints later.

“What?! You two are eating out without me?! What kind of brother are you, huh? Always forcing me to babysit your children, only to eat out with Big Sis? Bro, how could you?!”

Shen Yi just knew it. His younger brother was so easy to read.

“Fine. I’ll send you the address and bring the twins with you. You better make sure they are properly dressed before going out.” He conceded.

It didn’t take long before Shen Xue arrived with the twins. When the twins saw their mommy, they ran towards her eagerly.

“Did my babies behave while we’re gone?” Lu Xinyi gave the twins a kiss on their cheeks before Shen Zichen sat on her lap while his twin sister went to their daddy.

“Children. I still don’t know where they get all of those energies to run around.” Shen Xue sat next to his brother. However, seeing the dishes served on their table, his eyes lit up.

“Whoa, such a feast. What’s the occasion?” he asked. Shen Xue forgot his irritation and exhaustion from his long day at work.

He was hoping he could get a free dinner when he dropped by Imperial Residence, hoping his Big Sis had cooked delicious meals for him to eat. Anyway, eating out wasn’t bad at all, especially when it was his brother who was going to pay for it.

“Nothing. Your brother just invited us out to try these dishes,” Huang Shenghao said.

“I didn’t invite any of you.” Shen Yi corrected him. He was hoping to spend some time alone with his wife but ended up being surrounded by them.

Meanwhile, Shen Yuyan was curiously watching Tian Lingyu’s face. She remembered seeing this man walking with her mommy during the wedding ceremony and was told that he was her mommy’s brother.

“You’re my mommy’s brother?” she asked, making Shen Xue and Huang Shenghao stopped with their loud conversation.

Tian Lingyu hummed and gave the girl a nod. “Yes, I am.”

“You don’t look like Mommy,” Shen Yuyan pointed out, and Tian Lingyu agreed with her.

“That’s because I was adopted by her mom and dad, but we’re still siblings so I’m her brother,” he explained.

“Oh…” So he was the same as her and her Zi Gege? Little Yuyan understood now.

“Let’s eat first to see which of the dishes should stay on their menu.” Lu Xinyi broke her chopsticks apart, eager to start to eat. Before that, she placed some spareribs on her husband’s bowl. “Eat more. I know you skipped lunch just to finish your work early,” she told him.

They continued their conversation as they ate, pointing out the weaknesses and highlighting the dishes that looked promising. In the end, Tian Lingyu and Shen Yi couldn’t eat anymore. However, Lu Xinyi and Huang Shenghao were still busy, fighting for a piece of braised meat left on the serving plate.

“Brother Huang, you should really give this meat to me. Didn’t you eat the platter of Crispy Sweet and Sour Pork? You didn’t even leave anything for us to eat.” Lu Xinyi’s eye twitched as she tried to intimidate her brother’s friend into submission but failed.

“Sister Lu must be joking. President Shen took his share before I’ve taken the platter; what’s more, I took this meat first. So if you don’t mind, Sister Lu, please give it back to me,” Huang Shenghao countered back.

Glaring to each other, they didn’t notice Shen Yuyan’s hand reaching out, taking the meat from the platter and ate it without a word.

“That was the last piece.” Lu Xinyi sobbed pitifully next to her husband, but it was better to have Little Yuyan eat it than to lose it to Huang Shenghao.

“Try this one, Xinxin.” Shen Yi offered a piece of kung pao shrimp to her using his chopsticks.
