Smoking and fire started to fill the halls with each growing minute, but there was still a very large amount of rubble remaining.

"Ailwin, you can leav-" Braeden tried persuade his friend into leaving without him.

"Shut up!" Ailwin stopped Braeden from saying anything more. He needed to think of another way to get them out of the building.

Maybe we can jump it…

Glancing at his best friend's condition, he knew it would be impossible. Braeden was hardly taking in deep breaths and walking on his own, there was no way he was strong enough to jump from a fourth story window.

Glancing down at his arm his saw that his wristband was blinking.

"What is it, captain?"

"Sir, where are you and General Gilwenys? The soldiers are already loaded into the air carriers and the fire is just closer."

"Don't worry about us, and leave now."

"Sir…"

"That's an order! Go now!"

"Yes, sir." The captain gave the go ahead to the pilot to take off.

Ailwin looked back at his friend, grabbed his arm and tug him towards another direction.

"Ailwin...someone coming…" Braeden whisper as he look at a shadow coming towards them through the smoke.

Ailwin quickly stepped in front of Braeden and held out his weapon.

When the shadow got closer, it called out.

"Prince Ailwin...General Gilwenys…?"

"Kaze?"

Coming out of the smoke, Ailwin could see Kaze's face covered in soot.

"You didn't leave?" Braeden asked.

"Mika sent me to help the two of you."

"She's okay?" Ailwin asked, hoping that she got out alright.

"Yeah."

"Good….Do you have any idea how to get us down?"

"Yea, she showed me the way...come quickly before it gone."

"How did she know we were still in the building?" Braeden asked Kaze as they began to walk towards their destination.

"...." Kaze stayed quiet.

"What?" Ailwin looked at him.

"….she put a tracker in your wristband."

Braeden wanted to say something, but thought better of it as her tracking Ailwin was actually helping them right now.

Reach the stairwell where half the building collapse, Kaze showed them the slide made from Hycis' ice.

"I'll go first then you can help General Gilwenys slide down."

"En…"

Kaze slid down the slide before giving Ailwin the okay for him to send Braeden down.

Ailwin laid his friend as close to the edge of melting slide before he gave him a little push to send him on his way.

With the slide being steep, Kaze had to use all his strength to stop Braeden's momentum before he crashed right into the waiting debris.

"Okay, I got him!" Kaze gave the all clear for Ailwin to go next. Unfortunately, the sixth round of explosions went off at this time.

*Boom!* *Boom!* *Boom!* *Boom!*

This time there were more bombs going off than the last time, the slide could no longer to stay connected to the building and it shattered.

Ugh...when it rains, it pours...

When the tremors finally stopped, Ailwin didn't waste anytime trying to find a new way down. He instantly jumped from the building to the ground.

Landing hard in the rubble, Ailwin dusted off his clothes before helping with Braeden. Astonish by the Prince's strength it took a while for Kaze to come back to himself.

"Which way?" There was so much ash and smoke in the air it was hard for any of them to see. Ailwin hoped Kaze also knew the way to out, with him sending the air carriers off, their only way to leave the city was by foot.

"This way...."

Their pace was slow and cautious, bombs were still going off all around making it difficult to walk. Add in the raging fires and smoke, and their path was far from easy.

Ailwin thought about calling one of his captains to fly one of the carriers over to them, however him knew it would be impossible for the pilots to see clearly enough to properly land or even find them.

"We can't keep going like this...we won't make it." Braeden huffed out, the smoke and ash was making it hard for him to breath.

"We don't need to reach the gate, I had one of your squadron leaders leave a shuttle from the carriers for us. We just need to make it to the platforms." Kaze said guiding them along.

However, when several buildings and residences toppled before their eyes, they prayed that no damaged is done to the platform and shuttle.

Mika and her group had made it out of the city just before the fifth round of bombs went off. Covered in ripped and burnt clothes, they had hiked their way through the woods to reached the shuttle.

"Why did you bring this!?" Nylian shouted as he put down one end of the trunk, making Hycis drop the other side.

Hunched over he attempted to catch his breath, despite ash and soot covering his face.

"As far as I'm concern, that trunk is more important than you. So, if you leave it there, I'm going to leave you..." Mika snapped, she couldn't take his questioning any longer.

When she wouldn't go back for Ailwin and Braeden, he began complaining and questioning every decision she has made going forth. Driving her crazy with frustration.

She was tempted to give his a.s.s a good kick and send him back into the blazing city.

"We should have went back..." He grumbled underneath his breath for umpteenth time.

"You know what, go ahead! I didn't stop you before and I'm not going to stop you now!" Mika shouted out. She was already felt guilty for having to leave Ailwin and Kaze behind, but she knew if she had stayed it wouldn't have done anyone of them any good.

She just barely got these three and herself out in time.

Pus.h.i.+ng him out of the way, she picked up his end on the trunk and tugged it towards the waiting shuttle.

Giving the order for her nanos to open the hatch, she pull the trunk up the ramp.

Securing her trunk in the cargo hold, she immediately ran to the navigation system. Turning on it's radar, it started picking up on all the aircrafts in the area.
