"Alican." I tapped the bar, the Valkyries staying outside since the bar was full of people and they were sensitive to people right at the moment. Agalana and Hrudra have fought more times than I have in my entire life.
Which was insane but they were p.i.s.sed that one of their own was captured under their roof.
I was p.i.s.sed as well, but I needed to keep my cool.
For now at least.
"Prince Dareios. Are you alright? Is your mate safe?" Alican asks me, pus.h.i.+ng her duties to her best friend, Livie. Her deep red flamed around her face while the small black hair-band held her bangs back. Her kind brown eyes watching me carefully when scrambling for a gla.s.s of scotch.
"No. Aita and the kingdom took her away. I need your help getting her back." Alican stopped midway, her body trembling before setting the bottle down and giving me a hard stare.
"I promised I'd never return to that lifestyle, my Prince. You can not make me do this." She pleads, her voice shaking at the memories when I placed my palm on her shoulder.
"I won't make you do anything. But we need your help. You are skillful and can keep me calm until I am reunited with my mate. This is a lot to ask of me, but one last time and I won't ask you again." I said as she pulled away and clutched the rag against her chest. She took a moment, not saying a thing when shaking her head and looking up at me.
"I'm sorry... I can't return there. Not yet." She spoke softly, her eyes distant when I sighed and nodded.
"It's alright. I understand, Alican. But if he did show up when you were there, I will murder him even if it dethrones me. You are a friend." I told her seriously, tapping the bar once more before backing away. "This is goodbye for now Alican." I waved as she gave me a tiny nod.
I left the bar, seeing the two Valkyries fighting once again as the bouncer glanced at me unsure what to do.
"Don't worry about them. They're Valkyries who love to fight." I sigh as he nodded, both of us watching them clash their weapons against each other.
"Then they better learn not to fight around me. I have a little boy waiting for me at home." Alican says softly behind me, clutching onto her coat when I opened my mouth to speak. "Don't. I owe it to you for everything you've done for me, Prince Dareios. This is my way of repaying you." She a.s.sures me, burying her face into her scarf while her purse hung at her side.
"Okay." I smiled, reaching over to giving her shoulder a small squeeze. "Thank you, Alican." She nodded before reaching into her purse and pulling out a small case.
"We should be heading out. I will stop their fight." She tells me, kneeling down and opening the case to reveal her small instrument. In a flash, it was put together as she stood up and brought it to her lips.
The melody she played was serene and lovely while the anger and fury I felt before demolish a little at the sound. The Valkyries ceased their fighting, glancing over at us with a strange calm expression.
The bouncer stared at Alican in shock when she lowered the instrument and smiled at it. Her eyes were a bright blue as they faded back down to the soft brown that I've known her as. She glanced at the bouncer and gave him a genuine smile.

"You've always wondered how I could work at such a violent place like a bar? This is why. I might as place my power doing something that will help in the end. What better way then calming a bar fight or giving heartbroken people relief?" She smiles at the bouncer, kneeling down and placing the instrument inside the case.
"Fairy. I knew I smelt something weird on Hjala." Agalana says, mesmerized with Alican. Alican blushed and tucked her fiery hair behind her ear.
"I am no fairy anymore. However, my powers still remain." She informed Agalana before turning to me. "Let us go now. I do not want to make Livie stay with my son for too long. He can be temperamental without his melody." Alican admits with a friendly smile making me chuckle.
"If I was your son I'd have a tantrum if I didn't hear you play either," Agalana comments as Alican laughed and stuffed her hands in her pockets.
"It'll take a while to get there. If I know the demons, they'll be keeping her in the main castle." I tell the ladies when Hrudra nods and sheathed her blade.
"Then let us go. The longer we wait the worse the situation may get for Kho." Hrudra says not sparing another moment when walking away making Alican and I share a look.
"You sure you want to go with us. I don't want to force you." I ask her again while she smiled and tilted her head at me.
"Do you have another fairy to compel demons? Am I not your favorite fairy?" She questions making me smirk and pat her head like a child.
"Come then. I'll protect you." I promise as she nodded and swatted my hand away.
"I know you will." We shared a laugh together before following behind the Valkyries who surprisingly weren't fighting.
Yet.

"Let us by now," I order the demons who were in front of the gate when they narrowed their eyes at us.
"We have orders to contain you, my Prince." One said while Alican pulled her instrument and nodded to us. I covered my ears as she started her melody, the demons slowly getting tired before falling to the ground.
"They won't be asleep for long." She tells us, after tapping my shoulder and letting me know she was finished playing. Agalana and Hrudra had their weapons out, ready to end the lives of the demons as I snapped my finger at them.
"Don't. We are not here to kill them. If the need arises then we will." I inform them again making the Valkyries share a look before moving forward. I knew they were prepared to go against me and h.e.l.l, I was tempted to let them raise h.e.l.l.
Just not my kingdom.
"Are you alright?" I ask Alican as we walked through the gates, her instrument still in her hands.
"Yes. As long as I continue playing calm melodies. I have trained to go long without a rest. No need to worry over a simple fairy like me." She tells me seriously, her hands thrumming on the keys of her instrument in a nervous way.
"He won't touch you," I a.s.sure her once again, her nervousness growing with every moment that we get closer to the empire. Not that we were entering into the underworld, it was growing hotter and her outfit didn't suit the environment.
"I know... I just worry if he finds out about our son. He'd take him away in an instant." She mumbles, her eyes filled with worry.
"He won't know a word about your son," I told her as she nodded and brought the instrument to her lips. The song was quick making all of our extra layers disappear. She was wearing a pair of khaki shorts with a soft pink s.h.i.+rt that accented her red hair that was tied by a ribbon.
The Valkyries remained in their armor, just that their coats and leggings were gone now. The nodded their thanks to her while my boots crunched against the ground.
Since the heat didn't affect me as much, I wasn't changed like the ladies. She knew that I'd prefer this heat preferred to the cold.
I f.u.c.king hate the cold.
"We should be coming up to it," I inform them all as they nodded and walked faster. Alican seemed tense, but knowing her. She wouldn't say a thing.
She's never been one to open up about her concerns.
My thoughts tried wondering to Khole and how b.l.o.o.d.y the manor had been when I arrived, but I quickly pushed them aside. This wasn't the time to think about that.
I just had to get to her as quickly as I could.
It took what felt like hours to finally see the castle and the city. The fire and lava blazing around the place made it seem dangerous but it really wasn't. The people in the city were actually genuinely nice and calm, though since it is the underworld. They were always nude.
We entered the city, many of the nude demons giving us questioning looks but not coming up to us. Alican cowered to my side when Agalana whistled with a large grin on her face.
"I think I'm gonna like this place." She says watching people walk by as Hrudra smacked her hands and nodded to the castle.
"I'm done playing nice. If I don't have my kin in my eyesight in less than twenty minutes, they are going to wish that they wore clothes." She snarls, walking ahead of her when we followed her. I nodded to a few of the demons walking by, a few of them excited to see my return and a few even saying h.e.l.lo.
Alican seemed surprised at their kindness that by the time we made it to the castle, she was speaking with a demon who had carried her small horned child. The sight of the child reminded her of her own son when the ladies spoke of how to dull their horns.
No doubt Alican having troubles figuring out how to file her son's horns down.
"Alican. We've gotta go." I told her as they looked at me.
"Okay. I hope I meet you again, Polydora." Alican says with a soft smile making the woman nod and bid her goodbyes with us. Thankfully with Polydora's presence, none of the guards questioned us.
Fearful of the Priestess.
Thankfully she was doing her rounds right at the moment.
"Prince Dareios." A man with familiar cold eyes spoke making me nod to the lead general.
"Proximo. Good to see you again." I clasped hands with him, the Valkyries watched him carefully when he scanned his eyes over them.
"Likewise. Your mate is in the hands of Lady Aita." He told me, looking at Alican. "Welcome back. I didn't expect you to return after what has happened." He admits while Alican took a step back.
"Back off, a.s.shole." Hrudra snarls, protecting Alican. "Mess with her and you mess with us." She threatens when he narrowed his eyes at Hrudra. Something sparking within him making the tension rise between them.
"I-I'm not back for the k-kingdom. I am here to help retrieve my Prince's mate." She stutters, not looking at him as Proximo nodded and let my hand go.
"Where is my mate?" I question him, getting to business when Proximo looked around then motioned us to follow him.
"Currently, Lady Aita is compelling her to, and I quote, fulfill the blood moon." He tells us, not looking at the other guards that were staring at us. Alican cowering in between the Valkyries.
"Fulfill- Mother f.u.c.ker." I sneer angrily, suddenly wis.h.i.+ng that the Valkyries would kill Aita after all.
"Yes. I tried changing her mind but she ignored me and continued to do what she wanted. I've been keeping a close eye on them but it's a matter of time until Lady Aita drugs her and forces her to be with another. When I heard that you knocked out two guards at the gates, I hurried to meet you all." He explains to us quietly, going down a set of stairs where the patio is.
The patio was a dangerous place for women, especially those who are drugged.
"This Lady Aita... Is she important or can I slaughter her and string her guts on my porch?" Hrudra questions earning a questioning glance from Proximo.
"You are...?" He asked while Agalana took over.
"We are Valkyries. I am Agalana the sharpshooter and this is Hrudra the cold beast. That is Alican the fairy." She introduces when Hrudra swiftly nodded and Alican hid behind Agalana.
"That explains your cold exterior." He grumbles as Hrudra narrowed her eyes and shook her head.
"No. The only reason for my blood l.u.s.t is because Kho was stolen under my care and roof by you pathetic demons. I do not accept my kin being kidnapped because of your diplomatic matters. Be lucky you aren't dying in a pool of your blood, demon." She threatens before s.h.i.+fting her blade in her palm.
"You Valkyries are truly interesting," Proxime says to himself while I nodded in agreement.
We continued walking, the sound of music and the scent of alcohol staining the air. The patio has always been the place for demons to hang back and drink their worries away. It was like a club just with a formal name.
I scanned the area, catching sight of blonde hair. Her scent was small in the area but it was there.
I took a few steps before noticing a man holding her from behind.
