An old novel of Mad Snail. I think this is the prototype of Rebirth of the Thief Who Roamed The World.

Chapter 1: Xiao Yu

This was a short, deserted, broken wooden shed. There was no better word to describe it than “a short old man who has experienced vicissitudes of life, lingering in the last years of his life”. In front of the wooden shed, there is a slate-paved street. The dirty and muddy water flew on it, and even some stray dogs looking for food would get away from it.
The wooden door of the wooden shed was opened and closed in the smelly wind, and issued the sound of screaming. The walls were built from red brick, was slanting and swaying, but didn't not collapsed.

This was a place where even the dog didn't want to come, but it didn't mean no one lives here.

The door opened, and a girl dressed in a white silk dress came out. She was about 17-18 years old, a black hair fell down like a black waterfall. Maybe the hair blocked her line of sight, so the girl plucked her hair with her fingers, picked the hair to the back, and then pulled the skirt of some faded white silk skirt with her hand and jumped forward. Standing on a relatively clean slate, she then anxiously shouting towards the low wooden door: “Brother, hurry, you are late!”

The girl's voice was jingle and crisp, just like the jaundice of the valley. It is very nice.

From the low wooden door, a tall boy emerged. He was about 21-22 years old, because the door of the wooden shed was too low, the boy had to lower his head when he pa.s.sed the wooden door.

Seeing the boy coming out, the girl pulled up the skirt and jumped on another slate, letting the original standing empty.

The boy was dressed in a pleated old suit. From his back, his figure was about one meter and eighty. He was a little thin, but his back was very straight and he looked very good.

“Remember to work hard, don't fight again, or, or… I won't cook the dinner for you.” The girl waved her fist, wrinkled her nose playfully, then smiled sweetly, revealing a pair of shallow dimples, very sweet and lovely. If people see it, they would be very surprising that in this messy slum, there was such a beautiful girl.

Work hard? There was a slight apology in the boy's eyes. That was just an excuse to deceive his sister. How could someone like him find a job?

“Yeah.” The boy answered, the right hand touched the nose unnaturally, but the black but somewhat white suit cuffs set off the boy's hand. This is a very white hand, the fingers are slender, without any scars, white like a piece of white jade, no less than the hands of those pampered girls. Such a hand should not grow on a boy's body.

“Brother, your hand is beautiful.” The girl grinned and said, bending down and looking carefully, she was also very strange, why her brother had such a beautiful hand, the girl looked down at her hand, feeling a little self-defeating, quickly hid both hands behind her back. There were a few wounds on the hands and it was a bit rough.

Seeing the girl's movements, the boy's heart was slightly sour, and the clothes in the house are all washed by the girl, no matter whether it's winter or summer. When the winter was coming, the water was frozen cold and was.h.i.+ng could be a torture. Even the most beautiful hands has become rough. The boy wanted to help the girl wash the clothes, but she refused.

“Yeah.” The boy did not refute, whispered, but his heart was touched. For me, your hand was the most beautiful hand in the world.

The boy spoiled the girl's nose and said, “I go to work. You have to study hard too.”

“I know.” The girl sucked her nose and her mouth was so high that she was dissatisfied with the boy's behavior.

“Remember to eat lunch, and remember to come back early in the evening.” The boy still concerned.

“Okay, okay, you are going to become Aunt Wu of the Red Cross Hospital.” The girl pushed the boy's back and walked a few steps forward.

The boy smiled and shook his head, stepping on a raised slate towards the end of the street.

“Brother, wait a minute,” the girl hurried.

“What's wrong?” the boy turned back and asked.

The girl took a small step to catch up with the boy, walked to the boy's front, and whispered a small mouth, and said in some swearing tone: “You should look at you in the mirror, go to work and even the collar is disorder.” Finished it up, and carefully looked at it, she finally showed a satisfied smile, said happily: “Well, brother, you will always be the most handsome, come on!”

The boy touched the girl's small head and smiled. The girl's smile always made him forget all the troubles.

“I am leaving.” The boy finished and walked towards the end of the street.

Pa.s.sing through the slate streets, and then walking through the crowded and narrow lanes where no one is coming and going, in front of his eyes was the entrance is a street new high buildinga, people busily come and go. Compared to the scene before, they were totally two different worlds, like the difference between heaven and h.e.l.l.

Looking at the light, it's right in front of you, yet so far away.

The boy's gaze swept through every pedestrian who came and went. Every tiny place in these pedestrians, every little movement, could not escape the boy's sharp eyes. The boy looked at the pedestrians who were pa.s.sing through, and there was a slight disappointment, and he walked aimlessly.

“Xiao Yu.” A refres.h.i.+ng voice rang in the back, and there were some surprises in the tone.

The boy turned his head and his eyes fell on the person coming. That was a 18-year-old man. He was wearing a tattered sweats.h.i.+rt and a broken pair of jeans. Xiao Yu didn't know where he came from, but he was very clean.

“It's you.” Xiao Yu said faintly, his eyes turned to the street.

“Looking for a sheep?” The man's eyes fell on these pedestrians who walked through and asked.

Xiao Yu shook his head and nodded. Even Xiao Yu himself was very contradictory.

Looking at the boy's face, Xiao Yu remembered that when he first met the boy, the boy was beaten to death by being stolen in the street. Xiao Yu took him back to the Red Cross Hospital. From then on, the two are familiar with each other, but nothing more.

“You have such an ability, but why you don't make a move? What are you waiting for? If you can teach me, I will share half of the income with you in the future.” The boy begged.

Xiao Yu shook his head and said: “Monkey, even if I am willing to teach you, you can't learn.”

“Why?” The boy who was called Monkey asked unwillingly, his eyes fell on the hands of Xiao Yu's white slender, it is hard to imagine that people like them who are mixed in the street actually have such hands. If the hands are used to play the piano, it may be very suitable. Monkey thinks and seems to understand something.

“Forget it, if you don't want to teach, I won't force you.” Monkey sighed and said. If someone else has this ability, the monkey would definitely get it by any mean, but Xiao Yu is different, Xiao Yu was his friend. Even though Xiao Yu did not take him as a friend, but he still treated Xiao Yu as a friend, the kind who he could risk his life for.

Monkey's gaze turned away from Xiao Yu's body and fell to the face of a 30-year-old girl who had just pa.s.sed. The girl was tall and dressed in a miniskirt. The jade stockings on the slender legs exude a deadly temptation. Howver, it was not her beautiful legs that attracted Monkey's eyes, but a fas.h.i.+onable black backpack on her back.

“I'm sorry,” Monkey whispered, then slammed up in the direction of the girl.

Monkey was a thief. The next thing he has to do is to pick up what he wants from the backpack without the girl.

For survive, there is nothing we can't do. Xiao Yu's eyes flashed a trace of sorrow, laughing at himself, as he was no different. He also asked for life from someone else's pocket.

Xiao Yu was also a thief! He was no better than Monkey, but Xiao Yu believes that his own thieving is different from others.

Xiao Yu walked forward with some frustration and spent three or four hours through most of the city. “The rabbit does not eat gra.s.s near its nest”, Xiao Yu never stole at somewhere near his home.

When he was in the corner, he walked a short distance and never found a “sheep” that met the conditions. Xiao Yu was used to it. Sometimes he may not be able to find a “sheep” for most of the month. In fact, with Xiao Yu's ability, he walked through a street and everyone would become the sheep, but he would not do so.

Xiao Yu's right hand finger moved, two white jade fingers flashed through the air, but disappeared again, seem to have never appeared.

Xiao Yu lifted his right hand and opened his fingers. The sun was projected through the gap between the fingers. Is this a perfect hand? However, these hands were used for theft. Xiao Yu looked up at the radiant and s.h.i.+ny fingers of the rising sun. He suddenly felt some disgust to these hands.

Xiao Yu stopped and walked on the street for more than an hour. Sometimes, he could walk for a whole day and then return home empty-handed.

When Xiao Yu walked through a corner of the street, he came across two guys in their thirties who were fl.u.s.tered, one of them dyed a white hair, the other half wore a suit, and the lower half wore a tattered similar to Monkey's pants.

Most of these people are mixed in the street. As a thief, it is better not to provoke these people. Because stealing from ordinary people, he only be cursed at most when being exposed. If touch these guy, he would be beaten very badly if being discovered. Sometimes the thief would even be killed.

“Those girls are really f.u.c.king b.a.s.t.a.r.ds! I just flirt a bit, and get a slap in the face. Today is really a bad day.” White haired guy smoked a sip and said.

“Don't say it, the more you say the more I'm angry. The next time I definitely make them scream under my body.”

The two men walked over like this, and the people on the road did not dare to look at them. They only hurried through, and the fear of getting rid of these guys.

Xiao Yu's eyes swept over the two men, only staying on them for a few seconds, then bowed his head and walked toward them.

“Brat, do you know who are you looking at?” White hair groaned, his eyes fell on Xiao Yu's old suit, and his mouth smirked. This boy looks feminine, is he a gay?

Xiao Yu didn't answer and hurriedly went forward.
