As she reach the venue of the wedding she saw her mother coaxing the girl as she looks sad and teary eyed.
"What makes my princess sad?" she surprise the girl as she jump from her grandmother's embrace into the arms of her mother.
"You came!!! you came!!! yeheeey...." she jump for joy seing her mother. " Didn't I say that I'll be coming? Showered her daughter with kisses as she wiggles with uncontrollable laughter. Smiling she said " Now go and make your mama proud princess Alexandra, I'll be taking lots and lots of pictures to fill you alb.u.m. " happily the child hop and make her way to the a.s.sembling entourage.
"Its a good thing you made it on time." her mother said as embraces her daughter. " smiling as she gave her mother a peck on her cheek "Yes the standoff ended quickly and peacefully... come let's go Lexie might be wondering where we are, and become restless.
She and mother settled on one of the pews accessible to the marching entourage. She took a lot of pictures not only of her daughter but also as well as the guest, sorting it out later for Lexie and her mother to choose.
When the vows was exchanged Jade can't help but compare the wedding with her own. Sure she is a married woman the ring, certificate, pictures and all the proofs that was hidden in her safe prove that she is indeed one.
Her wedding... Ahhh... her wedding was not glamorous as this one.no family, no relatives no friends. It was just as simple as it was, maybe it was the reason why it broken as simple as it is.
Breaking out of her reminiscences as the crown breaks into cheers obliging the newly weds for a first kiss. Her mother observed her in silence asked finally "Are you alright honey?"
"Yes! just one of those things... you know." as she shrugs her shoulder to ignore the memory. If not for her princess she won't be attending this occasion. Her mother gave her a smile of understanding.
Her mother knows everything of her experiences in life and offer understanding, unconditional love and help her get through the darkess hour of her life. The difficulties they undergone brought them closer and had an unspoken understanding of each others' feelings, specially after her father's death. of which she holds herself responsible.
At the reception, she couldn't helped but notice the glances and stare of some of her relatives and acquaintances, after all these years they have not totally forgotten the so called scandal she was involved in.
"Carah!!! " I'm so glad you were able to attend my wedding. " as her cousin shared with her a peck on both cheeks as sign of greeting. "h.e.l.lo Lou, you're looking great!" they exchange pleasantries as they posed for pictures.
"You're kid is the exact replica of you. I still have the pictures when we were kids and she looks exactly like you." and they laughed remembering the experiences of their childhood.
"I hope we can spend time together after this, I'll be returning back to work next week. this preparation has eaten a lot of my vacation time." Lou said. "Oh pity, we will be returning tomorrow noon. I also got a lot of work to attend. But if by chance you'll be in the city give me a call ." " Sure! glad to see you again... aunty Lota, thanks for coming." her mother acknowledged with a smile.
Their return trip was uneventful, but Lexie enjoyed the trip especially the few stop every now and then to take pictures, which can't be done on a public transport.
