With a complicated heart and restless mind, Fu Sheng walks into the castle with Li Dai Yu in his arms. Noah arrives and exclaims when he sees her in such a state. Aiken and Izo are nowhere to be seen.

"Find Aiken and tell him that I am back," Fu Sheng commands him with a low voice. "How's Jin?"

"He is better than before, but…" Noah lowers his eyes. "It will take some time for his core to completely heal. He can't stay awake for a long time."

"Do whatever it takes." Fu Sheng glances at Li Dai Yu's face. "When Aiken returns, tell him that I want to see him."

Li Dai Yu is dangerous to everyone in the castle. He takes her to his room and lays her down on the bed. Before she wakes up, he must do something. But Fu Sheng can't move. He stares at her. The core of magic is near completion. Her body can't cope with it. He covers her with the blanket. This room must become her prison until Huang Qiuyan comes out.

After watching the princess fall asleep, Xiao Chun Dan leaves her room. Noah is nowhere to be seen. He walks toward Huang Qiuyan's room. When he sees the door ajar, he widens his eyes. Is she back? Xiao Chun Dan peeks inside and sees his host body on the bed with Fu Sheng sitting beside her.

Relieved, he takes a step forward. However, he slams against something as hard as a solid wall. He falls back with a cry. When he looks up, Fu Sheng is standing before him. Xiao Chun Dan asks him, "Why can't I enter?"

Fu Sheng comes out of the room and closes the door. "She's not herself."

"Not herself…?" Xiao Chun Dan frowns at him. "Vampire king, please speak clearly. This is a matter about my host. Her well being is most important to me. Don't hide anything."

"Huang Qiuyan is asleep." Fu Sheng stares at the boy. "She might or might not wake up. Currently, her body is being controlled by her dark side."

"Dark side?" Xiao Chun Dan can't believe those words. Does his host have a dark side? His idiot host who would endanger herself for Fu Mian? 

"I don't know what kind of human life she had." Fu Sheng closes his eyes and exhales. "She must have suffered a lot. All the repressed feelings that she buried deep in her heart are controlling her now."

Repressed feelings? Xiao Chun Dan looks down at the floor. He doesn't have much information on her background. She was randomly chosen. Her family seemed average. 

"Do you know what her wishes were?"

His host wishes? Xiao Chun Dan meets Fu Sheng's eyes. "Why do you ask?"

"Li Dai Yu can erase Huang Qiuyan if she fulfils all of her wishes." Fu Sheng explains with a mild voice, "Li Dai Yu wants complete control over her body. She can be stopped, I believe. Huang Qiuyan might come back if she can accept her Li Dai Yu. Her body isn't coping with her magic. Her body must reach the immortal rank before the magic erodes her body away, but it must not be achieved before Huang Qiuyan wakes up."

Li Dai Yu. Is that the person whom he met in that dark s.p.a.ce? She had his host's face, but she wasn't like her at all. Can someone like his host have such a cruel side? 

"Tell me about her wishes." Fu Sheng pressures him. "We don't have much time."

"She had many wishes." Xiao Chun Dan rubs his forehead. "At first, she wanted to find a husband. She wanted to live an ordinary life with her husband and children. Then, she met you. She wanted to break the bond. After that, she was curious about your pain, but she wouldn't say it out loud. There were times when she wished to become stronger. Then, she realized that she loved you too. Her desire to become powerful and your equal became stronger. She wanted to stay by your side. Before she ran away, she wanted to wait for you and earn back your love."

His love has always belonged to her. Fu Sheng looks at the door. He's been wrong about her. He's been always underestimating her. He never tried to understand her either. He didn't bother untangling their feelings. He didn't bother waiting for her to find the courage to accept him or the vampire life. He blamed her for being affected by the feelings from human life, but was he any better? 

He was also judging her because she was a human once -- the same species that broke the treaty and ma.s.sacred the purebloods all those years ago. Because humans have never accepted the purebloods, he didn't think that she could accept him either. He's been running away too. Sometimes, he wanted to forget the past. At other times, he kept a distance. It was difficult to accept someone as his true mate who was a human once. 

Will she wake up and forgive him?

"Fu Mian was asking for you." Xiao Chun Dan tells him, "She's been blaming herself for what happened. You should talk to her."

His daughter is also human. It's been easy to accept her as a part of his life, then why couldn't he do the same when he met Huang Qiuyan?

"You have done well." He pats Xiao Chun Dan's head. "Go and rest. I will bring back Huang Qiuyan."

Xiao Chun Dan shakes his head. "I can't leave my host alone. If she's suffering, I must do something. A system's priority is his host's well being. I will keep calling her name until my host wakes up and scolds me."

After hearing Xiao Chun Dan's words, he understands. Li Dai Yu blamed him for thinking of Huang Qiuyan first. Indeed, he didn't think of Huang Qiuyan first. 

"Go to Fu Mian." Xiao Chun Dan nudges him. "My host was worried about her before she left. n.o.body can soothe that child in your or her place."

A sentient being with no soul or heart knows what is important at this moment. Did Huang Qiuyan teach this creature? Fu Sheng walks toward Fu Mian's room with a lot on his head. He might not have understood Huang Qiuyan's heart at all.
