Usually I would say quite a few things to people who just swore an oath of servitude to me, a speech of sorts to rea.s.sure them that they had made the right choice, and that I would protect them, no matter what the face. But show I felt that such a course of action was not really needed within Transylvania. This was a place where might makes right, and the sophistication of your words is determined by the strength of your fist.

There was no room for propaganda of politics, not unless you were equal in power to each other. But I digress, the beautiful and most annoying thing about life is that it's unpredictable. You can't ever be sure that what's white is white and what's black is black, you just take it as it comes and make the best of what ever is offered to you.

I told the bosses of the third zone to wait for me as I marched to the second with knowledge about its own boss. And that knowledge was basically nothing. And the reasons for that was because no one ever remembers to battle of the boss of the second zone, and he's never been beaten before, so no challenger ever survives an altercation with him. And because no one has ever gotten past the second boss, no one knows how powerful the boss of the first zone is, with the only knowledge about him being the fact that he's a bloodthirsty tyrant.

So with those few scant information in mind I marched into the second zone with Soren and quite a few of the demonic population in tow. I'm pretty sure I'm an enigma to them. An equation they couldn't quite solve or understand, so they just to follow, to watch and to observe. After thousands of years of living a particular way, some dude that could basically be considered food, appears and beat the s.h.i.+t out of the authority that governs them. But this was what I did, normal and regular does not apply to me, and I loved that I was this way.

My journey to the second zone took a lot longer than I expected, and that was because each zone was significant larger than the rest. The zones were shared in a straight line from one end of the city to the other, with the first zone having it's boundary from the middle of the city, right to the other end, making it's territory a whole lot more significant and larger than the others.

Much like the boss of the fourth zone, the boss of the second was actually waiting for me with a sizable force. And his appearance was rather unexpected to say the least, and it left me feeling a little bit complicated. He was a child no older than five, and even though he was dressed regally and was floating fifteen feet in the air and surrounded by multiple b.a.l.l.s of white flames, he still looked too innocent to kill.

"So you've come. I was waiting for you stranger." He said to me with a serene look on his pretty grey face.

"Well hi, sorry to keep you waiting. So it wouldn't be too much of a stretch to ask you to surrender is it, I rather not kill a child." I said to him.

"Funny, a vulgar creature such as yourself believes he has the power or capability to kill me. Your species must not have a well evolved intelligence. And for your information savage, I'm four thousand years old. My body is just unique." He said to me, but this time the condescending look on his face couldn't be any less obvious.

"Right, since you feel that way and obviously not a child according to your age, I feel that we can both have a good fight, if you can put up one that is. So let's get this over with and boogie."

I realized that I couldn't stand his condescending and arrogant att.i.tude, it was the same look Adein had in his eyes whenever he looked at me, and I was already past a point when anyone, much less a flawed copy of a vampire would look at me that way. It was really disturbing to me, and I rather not experience it.

"You must think highly of yourself. You're beyond pathetic within my revered sight. Compared to me, a G.o.d! You're nothing more than a speck of dust underneath my eminent heel. Yet you have the audacity to come to my holy coven, my sanctuary and challenge for my position. You're a filthy heathen who does not know the sanct.i.ty of my divinity, and yet you stand before me, unwashed and unclean without a shred of respect! For this grave sin, I sentence you savage to a painful death at the hands of my acolytes."

His bulls.h.i.+t aside, I realized I wasn't dealing with just a typical boss. The demons within his zone were all dressed in robs with a sigil of a five year old child surrounded by a blood red moon with a golden halo. This particular zone of demons seems to believe that man child floating above them was some sort of G.o.d, and the fervent and reverent looks on their faces was more than enough proof of that. There was no ruling this kind of people, they were too far gone.

They started pounding their feet on the ground, and started rearranging themselves in a formation that had all of them moving in an erratic manner and singing their lungs out in the most unharmonious symphony I've ever heard in my life. But said symphony was f.u.c.king up the world in some seriously messed up way. I could actually feel the energy of nature moving, being part dragon, which was in fact a sort nature spirit, I was a little bit attuned to the changes within nature, and right now, there was a ma.s.sive change happening.

A lot of energy was being thrown into the body of the boss, and as that happened he was growing, aging. Going from being a chubby five year old to a gangly nine year old. Obviously should he grow older then he would be stronger, now I wasn't really bothered about his strength, because I felt that I would be able to put up an fight against him, and even beat hid a.s.s in the process. However waiting for an enemy to get strong was beyond stupid, so I called out my s.h.i.+eld, coated it in my aura and sent it spinning towards his now twelve year old sized skull.

*s.h.i.+ng!**Thud!*

His head fell of his neck and rolled towards me before coming to a stop before my legs. His body crashed into the middle of his fanatics, and there was a ma.s.sive blast that released a shockwave of energy that threw everyone every which way, smas.h.i.+ng buildings to rubble and even turning those closer to the blast radius into mists of blood and chunks of meat.

The s.h.i.+eld worked this time and was able to protect me, Soren and the demons behind us from any sort of injury. But either way this was a rather devastating sight and rather anticlimactic, but I wasn't complaining. This wasn't the first time I stuck first and killed an epic battle prematurely, but that was smartest the very least it means my victory is secured and confirmed, and I don't have to deal with any sort of unwanted surprises.

"You! How dare you lay your unholy hands on me! I'm the most eminent and holy of this accursed race, a blessing and boon to them. Your heresy shall not be forgiven, and you will be punished in more ways than one, you savage heathen!"

Wow it's a talking head, an annoying but still adolescent talking head. The amount of strange s.h.i.+t in this universe keeps piling up, and to be honest I have no idea how long I can keep on feigning indifference. But either way it would be rude not to reply the nice head, not after all the trouble it just went through to talk to us.

I looked down at the demon child and smiled. I didn't even get to hear it's name, but that was no problem, he was just a side character meant to be killed off in the very chapter he was introduced. There was no future for him, not with how b.l.o.o.d.y annoying his narcissistic holier than though att.i.tude is. So I stomped on the talking skull, smas.h.i.+ng it to bits and pieces like I had just stepped on a watermelon.

I shrugged my shoulder and just kept moving. He was no longer of any consequence, and whatever ritual his followers had been performing to make him stronger, the backlash from it had ended slaughtering a lot of them, and leaving an even greater deal of them injured. They wouldn't be a problem for now, and even if they're going to cause any sort of trouble in the future, the rest of the vampires would be able to take care of everything once they've settled down.

I got on Soren's back and urged him forward as we went towards the first zone and the final obstacle I had to get rid off before this city could be well and truly my own. While this whole live action reliving of a an RPG dungeon diving game was fun and rather informative, I think if was about time the curtain closed on this chapter. Besides I still had to explore Transylvania and look for the lost city of Idah.

Soren and I kept moving for another six or seven city blocks or maybe it was little more than out, I eventually lost count due to how fast Soren was moving. Either way we came across a bridge that stretched across a chasm that seemed to have split the city in two. It served as a boundary line of the first zone and ran completely from the east end of the city to the west, dividing the city into equal hands with its 40 meter wide hole, who's depth I couldn't even estimate.

The only way across seems to be through some sort of shoddy bridge, but said bridge apart from being rickety, was protected by very bulky demons with four arms, a very thick tail, and deer like horns with scale patterns on it. They looked somewhat nice, considering they were dressed in matching armor and both held spears.

"You must be the one challenging the zone bosses. We welcome you to the first zone, our master has instructed us to lead you to him, he has prepared a feast in recognition of your awesome achievements."

I angled my head and looked at Soren with a little bit of confusion etched all over my face. I've gotten the impression that demons were somewhat straightforward in their dealings, but to be honest I felt as if I've stepped into a game of chess rather than a game of swords and magic. Whoever this master of theirs is, I knew he was trying to f.u.c.k with my head, but he's going to be in for a surprise if he tries anything stupid or even innately funny or f.u.c.king annoying.

"Well then, lead us to this master of yours, I'm sure he must be dying to see me, so we shouldn't keep him waiting, that would be rude."

While it was still really weird for me how it was possible for these demons to communicate with themselves and tell each other was happening before I got to the next zone, I was confident in my strength. I might have received a few hits, but I've not fought like my life was in danger, at least not yet. If this whole thing can be solved without the need for bloodshed and death, then I'm all for a feast.

But my cheery and positive disposition did not last long. The first zone was the poorest and the most dirty of all the zones. The demons here were suffering, hunger was rampant and quite visible in their eyes. The streets stunk, but not from refuse or dirt, but rather the hundreds of corpses in various states of decomposition and decay. This was no longer as simple as I imagined it to be, obviously the boss of this zone was a complete and total douche bag and a very sucky leader.

I didn't like seeing suffering and terrible living arrangements anywhere. It doesn't matter what race you are, if your choices keep children starved and dying, then you don't deserve to live, much less remain in any sort of position of power. Without a shadow of doubt, once I've had this 'feast' that guess two guards were talking about, I'm going to kill the b.l.o.o.d.y f.u.c.ker that's in charge of this zone, time for thing to change around here.
