I didn't have to say anything to the goblin for her to know what comes next, I'm sure with all that's happened I should have made a b.l.o.o.d.y fortune. Which was great for the journey ahead since this town was just a stop for me, or rather I needed a place to stay before I figured that t my next move, and if I really want to keep a low profile I said I wanted to, then I would need money to get by, plus I had to figure out an arrangement for this wood sprites.
Fourteen ma.s.sive chests a meter tall and wide were placed in front of me, the guards shakily opened it up, and staring right back at me were thousands of copper, silver and gold coins. The copper and silver chests made up eleven of the entire price pool, while the gild chests were just three. I don't need anyone to tell me that this was a ridiculous amount of money in front of me, but then again was this all of it.
"Where's the rest?" I asked with a bland tone. The goblin shook vigorously like someone had sent a thousand volts if electricity through her body. Or maybe it was just a little chilly.
"This is all we can give, we have to keep the other funds of pay out the price money of those winners. Please have mercy and be lenient, we will be able to raise the money in two days after two more shows." I raised an eyebrow as the goblins explained all of this with a shaky voice, I don't think I'm that scary, heck I didn't even know if there was more, I just automatically a.s.sumed someone like this would cheat me, even in the face of death, which is actually quite normal with goblin kind.
This green midgets were even more greedy than dwarves, but what the h.e.l.l, I'm sure I have enough to be considered a wealthy man, I just need to get a roof over my head for a while and figure some things out. I shrugged and turned to the chests thing about how I would be able to carry them, but before I could even ask for a carriage, six wood sprites gathered around the fourteen chests and began to wave their hands and slowly mutter something. All fourteen chests seemed to fuse into each other, turning into a ma.s.sive wood golems with silver coins for eyes. The golem was incredibly detailed, so much so I could see the contours of it's muscles, his veins, and I could even her energy pumping through his veins like magic. And all of my coins were nestled safely within his body.
I blinked and looked at the sprites and then back at the golem, it was official; I'm keeping this brownish green short people with me, they're really handy. The next thing would be to get a place to stay, I was about to ask the goblin if she had any idea of a hotel or in that would allow me have the wood sprites around, and that's when it hit me, and instead I turned to face the wood sprite elder.
"Can you guys make a house with this magic of yours?" I asked.
"In theory yes. We should be able to make even a manor or mansion, and they would be alive in very much the same manner the golem is. But resources would be required, really precious resources, and a great deal of energy that our measly group of thirty wood sprites would be unable to muster. We could make a shack, but without more wood sprites, or a mana gathering array, we would be unable to do more."
I just wanted a house, but these wood sprites were given me a wild and rather crazy idea. Of course what I had in mind was rather conspicuous, which means I would have to go outside the city, however even then I would need to get supplies for the wood sprites, and maybe get dinner, or lunch, however that has to wait until night fall. I'm no longer in my G.o.dly body, and even though I can go quite a while without having to feed, I rather not.
"These resources you say you need, what are they and where can I find them." The woo sprites and even the goblin looked at me weirdly for a second, before the elder sprites decided to speak.
"Even though we can shape wood and nature, we can't create life from nothing, which means we need to have ma.s.sive amounts of wood. Preferably wood from enchanted and very powerful management absorbent trees, even an iron wood tree would be great if we can get our hands on it. Those trees would afford whatever we create great defense, and also great magic. But the wood is just the start, we would need the energy core of at least a gold grade boss from the dungeons. There are quite a few of them still left alive in the first floor of the dungeon, but we will have to find them in places that have not be explored or marked by other guilds or adventurers. I don't dare say it, but a platinum beast core or even an diamond beast core would be better than gold. The core would give the creation a soul or at the very least a consciousness that would be able to grant the house motion, and depending on the kind of soul used, we might be able to travel through spatial tunnels, teleporting from one place to another. And finally if we can get more wood sprites or even elves to help us activate the magic and build up the house and infuse the soul in one fell swoop. However there needs to be a lot of them, or at least have a mana gathering array that would supply enough magic to power the enchantment."
"you don't need to worry about a soul, or even the energy needed to power the enchantments. There's no need for that, all I need you guys to do is to build the house....or rather a hotel and leave the rest to me. Can you guys do that?" I asked them.
"In theory yes, but given that we can't use normal wood, even if we did, there's still not enough of us. We need more magic, if it were thirty elves at the silver or gold grade with nature magic, then this would have been a bit easier for them with only a little strain. But I'm the only silver grade wood sprite here, the rest are just copper grade so we don't have that much energy." He said to me.
"Don't worry about energy, you will have enough of it when the time comes. But this special trees you say you need, where can we find it."
"There are quite a few forests on the first level alone, and some of them are enchanted and very powerful, there's dryad forests, the dark woods, the soul catcher oak grove, the….."
"Did you say soul catcher?" I asked with my ears ringing at the mention of souls.
"Yes master, but that's the most dangerous of them all, n.o.body goes there!" the wood sprite tried to warn me.
"You don't have to worry about that, that's where we'll be going. I trust you guys can handle the golem, I also need you guys to go get supplies; food, water, fruits, rope, weapons, anything you know you would need. Spend as much as you like and make sure you buy the best quality of goods. We'll be leaving the city for the dungeon by midnight, so let's meet back here. Give me your hand." I said to the wood sprite.
I grabbed his hand and sent a stream of my energy into his body, it might seem like this was just normal soul energy, but the moment I removed my seal it would turn right back into my divine energy. As I held him, I felt an intrinsic connection to the rest of the wood sprites, somehow this race was fundamentally connected to each other in more ways than one. I nodded my head as I automatically gave then all my crest.
I stepped back as the wood sprites watched in marvel as a symbol of a lion surrounded by four dragons showed up on the back of their hands. And with that a new source of energy filled their body, energy that I suddenly realized they were drawing from me. The wood sprites grew taller, their green hair seemed to glow ever brighter and a soft summer breeze seemed to blow into the entrance of the arena. There was more vibrancy, power, grace and an aura coming from the wood sprites. They just received a ma.s.sive upgrade, and all just from me giving them my crest.
[YOU HAVE GIVEN YOUR DIVINE CREST TO A MONSTER RACE OF DUNGEON Sp.a.w.nED WOOD SPRITES. FROM NOW ON THEY ARE NOW YOUR DIVINE Va.s.sALS AND WILL ACHIEVE DIVINE ASCENSION ONCE YOUR ENERGY IS UNLOCKED. THEIR RACE IS NOW DIVINE NATURE SPIRTES. YOU HAVE COMPLETE ONE HALF OF YOUR MAIN DOMAINS POWER DUOLOGY. YOU NEED A RACE OF DEATH TO BECOME THE SECOND HALF, COMPLETING THE Va.s.sALS OF THE SOUL DOMAIN!]
Okay what the f.u.c.k is that? But once again automatic universe knowledge to the rescue. A G.o.d has wors.h.i.+ppers, but there are always divine spirits or souls or in this case sprites who would take care of the realm of said G.o.d and serve as his soldiers/servants. I just found that out right now, plus right now there was a new dimension being formed just to accommodate the new G.o.d of souls and runes. Anyway the soul is an ent.i.ty that encompa.s.ses both life and death.
The wood sprites as one of the most fundamental iteration of life and nature, as such they completed one half of my soul domains duology of Va.s.sALS. Next I needed to get a race that was filled to the brim with death, a perfect manifestation of it. That might be a little hard, but I'm sure I can find such people.
"That's my crest, it means you all belong to me now. You can use it to communicate with me should you encounter any trouble. Take care of what you need to, also get yourselves some clothes, lots of clothes and really nice ones too. See you midnight, I have a soul to interrogate."
After I finished speaking, I made my way out of the Arena and walked into the busy streets and disappearing into the crowd. And in all that time, no one noticed the trapped soul of Bawa Bawa screaming in pain as I clutched him in my hands.
