“There’s no way Yuwen Qi could make a full recovery from his broken legs after a single meeting with that man. Xie s.h.i.+ c.o.c.ked an eye at a spot near the foot of the wall behind the privy. With a sudden flicker of his figure, he disappeared.

Yuwen Tong was unsurprised at this reply. What had happened corresponded with one of his speculations, which would probably lead to the most troublesome eventuality.

Yuwen Zhi had been secretly keeping in contact with someone in the imperial palace.
