Catherine sneered, "This is the council president's seat. As soon as we have finished all this parliamentary procedure c.r.a.p, it will belong to me. You don't have a seat on the council. Your pack consists of what 3 people? You don't even belong in Clan Home." The gallery full of clan leaders collectively sucked in a breath. Even the other council members gasped for air. Cally was quite amused. "Councilwoman Rosemount, do you want to kill us all by depriving us of air? Jean Michel? Why oh why have you not explained to this little girl the facts of life?" Cally took a couple of steps forward, "And besides that is NOT the president's seat. That is the Wotan clan's seat. Is it not carved with my name on it?"

Catherine was startled for a moment and looked at the wonderfully carved chair. She had never particularly noticed the chair designs. All of the council chairs were carved of a dark wood and with and deep seat covered in a red fabric. She looked left and right and could then easily see that no two chairs were carved similarly. She looked at Cally as Cally continued, " Olen crafted each and every one of those chairs in the Black Forest style of carving. He had white Fir trees s.h.i.+pped in just for this purpose. Each chair represents the clan representative that sits in them. Some have glyphs, some have runes, some are pictorial but they all represent individual clans or packs." Cally reached the table behind which this fool woman sat. Cally was fuming at the sheer stupidity of a council member. "How long did you sit on the council and never noticed the chair you sat in had your d.a.m.n name carved in Gallic on it?"

Without looking, Cally called Jean Michel, "Your child is again attempting to steal from me. What say you? Does she represent your clan in her thievery?" Jean Michel had just started to comprehend what was happening when he heard the last question."Non bien sûr que non!" He stepped forward shaken to his core. "Umm No, this is a mistake. I have made a grave mistake by allowing my beloved child to do this. She was obviously too young and immature for this position. She will be replaced instantly. Will, umm, will the Wotan forgive one more time?"

Cally was carefully watching Catherine Rosemount. She had seen every expression pa.s.s over the woman's face with her Father's declaration. Cally didn't respond immediately because she knew there was more to the drama queen that was Catherine Rosemount. " Papa! Why are you cowering before this b.i.t.c.h? Why? We can crush her with but the snap of our fingers! Why have you lost your manhood before her and forsaken your daughter?" The intake in breath this time by everyone in the room with the exception of Marcus and Cally was indeed incredible. Sarah was astonished but maddly taking everything down for the records. 'This was just too awesome!"

Cally smirked and looked over to Marcus. His position was at a small desk by the doors as the master of arms. He lifted a dark eyebrow and stared back at her. Then the cheeky girl winked at him.

Jean Michel Rosemount was enraged. He was born during the reign of Louis the XIII, when the de' Medici still held great power. How could he not be enraged? He slowly walked past Cally never looking at her. His focus was solely on his recalicent daughter. He reached the beautiful mahogany desk that was in the shape of a quarter circle separating the council from the rest of the room. He stared at the furiously standing woman before him. The rest of the council had stood and taken steps to further separate themselves from the center. Jean Michel, clan leader, warrior, a n.o.bleman and a Marshal of France at one point in his long life was rendered nearly speechless in his rage. He reached out and dragged his daughter across the table and slapped her. Using every ounce of his strength he slapped her face.

Catherine fell to the floor. She had b.l.o.o.d.y lips and her face clearly showed his hand print. It was probable that her cheek bone was broken. She had bitten her tongue during that slap and blood trickled down. She stared at her once adoring father and felt around her mouth with her b.l.o.o.d.y tongue. Without looking away she spit out a two broken teeth. "You will return home. You will be punished under clan law. As soon as your punishment is finished I will try to find someone who will take you as a bride or concubine. I care not which! You have embarra.s.sed me and your clan!" With this Jean Michel Rosemount formerly Marquis de Mont Rouge turned to Cally. Cally looked at the proud man she had known off and on for over 400 hundred years. Cally said not a word but inclined her head.

Jean Michel gave a short nod and grasped his daughter's arm, pulling her to her feet and drug her out the door. After the doors swung closed. Cally swung over the table and sat in her seat with her boots dangling over the chair arms. "SO, I nominate Renard to take over as council president and all that the c.r.a.p a.s.s job entails. I also nominate Councilwoman Angela Perez as council vice president." She looked at Sarah who was busy recording everything. Sarah looked up, "Umm is there a second?"
