Taking a deep breathe, Gladys called Marcus Knight, head of security for Clan Home. He answered instantly, "Gladys what can I do for you?" No one called him unless they wanted something or to report something. No one until Cally. "Marcus, so good to hear your voice! We will be leaving for Clan home tomorrow. I am bringing a small team with me. Have you received the travel info and itinerary?"
Marcus was in his office and he had already received faxes in regards to the ident.i.ties of all who were coming and their respective backgrounds. He was aware they would be staying at a B&B in town and only allowed on the premises for their work. He even knew of the photography book that was going to be created for charity. Letting the world know there were priceless treasures at Clan Home did not faze him. They had top notch security, with personnel, cameras, motion sensors and really what thief could get past werewolves?
"We have. Everything is in place. The people you are bringing will view everything in the archives building under Sarah's supervision." Gladys agreed with all the arrangements. This was already a boon for all the researchers, an unprecedented chance. "Marcus the main reason I called was because President Durand called he wants me to ask Cally about black witches. What can you tell me about the one that entered Clan Home?"
Marcus leaned back in his chair. he s.h.i.+fted to be more comfortable. "Gladys, Cally was greeting the FBI Art Crime people when she zeroed in on one of the members. His name was Sampson. She said she smelled dirt, cloves, and some kind of flowers. She said he had been brewing. I a.s.sume that means concocting spells or something. I didn't smell anything out of the ordinary. She then gave nails to the lawyer James Holmes that was escorting the agents and had another wolf get a bag of salt and forced him to leave. She specifically said he was a pract.i.tioner. We've had people looking into him since he was asked to leave but information is sketchy."
"Wow, just wow. She is so frickin awesome. She smelled he was a witch! That's insane. She had to have spent a lot of time around witches to be able to identify one like that!" Marcus took a sip of his now lukewarm coffee. He made a noncommittal hmm sound. "Gladys, you don't have any information on witches?" "No, not really. What I know is mostly anecdotal. So she forced him to leave immediately? He didn't put up any fuss? That's like agreeing to her guesses!"
"Yes, that is why we have been looking into a FBI agent's background as hard as we can. She would not even allow him to touch her or the two wolves that escorted him off the property." "You haven't asked her about this?"
Marcus sighed. He picked up his coffee and stood to go warm it up from a nearby coffee pot. Looking out his window he half expected to see a Looney Toon character to zip by on a segway. "Let us just say Cally has bought a lot of what she calls her play pretties. I am still confused about her fascination with a little curtain she bought. She keeps saying something about it being haunted or maybe she said it wasn't haunted. To be more exact; Cally is distracted and I can't get much information out of her." He stood there drinking his coffee while a conversation about a distracted Cally ran through his mind. She was distracted by a handsome man and food. Sarah had wanted to use him to distract Cally. Maybe he should give that a try?
