He watched the nurses take Daniel Wu and Han Zhilong inside the ambulance after telling the police what happened. It was for self-defense that Ren s.h.i.+yuan ended up beating Daniel Wu and his companion.

Meanwhile, Nian Jiezhen was taken in another ambulance. 

"I'm sorry, NJ..." Jeremy said with his head hanging low.

"You caught them... That's what matters."

Dale shook his head, "It was your fiance who came and saved you, not us."

Nian Jiezhen turned to look at Ren s.h.i.+yuan who was being interviewed by the police.

"It's time to go." One of the nurses said.

"I'll go save your man." Jeremy smiled a bit before he went to get Ren s.h.i.+yuan from the police that was interviewing him.

"He's an amazing man... That fiance of yours."

"Husband..." Main Jiezhen corrected.

Dale turned to her a bit surprised.

She just responded with a smile before she faced Ren s.h.i.+yuan who was now approaching her.

"Watch over her." Jeremy patted his back.

Ren s.h.i.+yuan had a hard time smiling but he managed to give him a nod before he entered the ambulance.

Nian Jiezhen lied back down on the bed, she reached out and held Ren s.h.i.+yuan's hand.

"Thank you..."

He leaned and placed a gentle kiss on her hand, "Anything for you, princess." 

Nian Jiezhen never expected that Ren s.h.i.+yuan was the one who was going to save her.

She realized that all this time, Ren s.h.i.+yuan was actually going easy towards her whenever she was beating him up. She found it funny actually. 

He acted like a weak man but all this time, he was not.

Ren s.h.i.+yuan's gentle touch on her made her close her eyes and just like that, she easily drifted off to sleep.

He stared at her sleeping face. Ren s.h.i.+yuan couldn't imagine the pain that she must have gone through... It was devastating for him to see her that way.

He kept blaming himself for not being able to protect her. The guilt inside him grew and so was the pain. 

Ren s.h.i.+yuan was the one having a hard time at that moment when he saw the bruises and cuts on her arm.

Her beautiful skin was now tainted with a purple bruise and red cuts.

"For now, Ms. Nian's condition is stable." The doctor said, looking at Ren s.h.i.+yuan.

"It's a good thing that the child inside her wasn't affected by the physical injuries she received. It's just... I advise you to watch over her. After she went through, stress can be harmful to the baby."

Ren s.h.i.+yuan stopped listening to the moment he heard the doctor said 'child inside her'.
