"Where's Daniel Wu?" Ren s.h.i.+yuan asked with a bone-chilling gaze as he went and stepped on Han Zhilong's head.

Han Zhilong gritted his teeth in pain. He tried to stand up but the sudden pressure coming from Ren s.h.i.+yuan made him feel like a mountain was crus.h.i.+ng him!

Daniel Wu went out of the kitchen, smirking at Ren s.h.i.+yuan, "You made things easy for us, Mr. Ren."

An ominous smile appeared on Ren s.h.i.+yuan's lips, "Don't worry, I didn't call the police here... yet."

"Then you must be stupid," Daniel Wu scoffed.

"Am I?" 

In a swift move, Ren s.h.i.+yuan and punched Daniel Wu on his cheek, catching off-guard.

Ren s.h.i.+yuan has always been promising at Martial Arts. His father is a mafia leader and growing up with a strict environment made him learned the secret arts of the Ren family.

"Where is my wife?"

Daniel Wu stumbled against the wall. The punch that Ren s.h.i.+yuan gave broke two teeth of his. He spat it out, his saliva mixed with blood.

"Son of a b.i.t.c.h!" Daniel Wu raised his knife and attacked him furiously.

Ren s.h.i.+yuan was looking at him calmly and coldly. He moved to the side to avoid the ice-cold knife. 

He swung round savagely and with a kick, Daniel Wu's knee was dislocated.

With a howl, Daniel Wu went down.

"Where is she?" Ren s.h.i.+yuan asked again, staring mercilessly at Daniel Wu who was groaning in pain.

Just then, a gunshot was heard.

Ren s.h.i.+yuan tensed. He staggered a little, grimacing in pain as his hand touched his right back shoulder.

He turned and saw Han Zhilong standing there, his hand was shaking a bit.

Han Zhilong's nerves tingled as he saw Ren s.h.i.+yuan's icy glare.

"D-Don't come close!" His voice shook, after all, it was as if he was seeing a beast in front of him.

Ren s.h.i.+yuan took a step towards him, the way he looked at Han Zhilong made him feel as if he was seeing through him.

Once again, he tried to shoot him but as if seeing it coming, Ren s.h.i.+yuan evaded it.

In the next second, Ren s.h.i.+yuan swiftly held his hand and turned the gun away. With two clean movements, he stole the gun from Han Zhilong.

Ren s.h.i.+yuan didn't hesitate on shooting Han Zhilong on his legs.

The man shouted in pain as he fell on the ground.

"Do you want to live?" Ren s.h.i.+yuan asked, still pointing the gun on him.

"S-She... She's in... the bas.e.m.e.nt!" Han Zhilong cried.

Ren s.h.i.+yuan turned, he looked at Daniel Wu who still in pain, he pointed his gun to him and shot his other leg, making sure that the two wouldn't escape.

He took his phone out and contacted one of Nian Jiezhen's friend, Jeremy, giving him the address of the place before he went to the bas.e.m.e.nt in a hurry to get his beloved.

He opened the door of a room that was in the bas.e.m.e.nt and when he did, he saw Nian Jiezhen's weak figure.

His eyes went wide upon seeing her. Her body was covered with bruises and small cuts. It was so obvious that she was tortured by Daniel Wu.

Nian Jiezhen didn't bother opening her eyes since she thought that Daniel Wu came down to torture her again.

"J-Jiezhen..." Ren s.h.i.+yuan's voice cracked.

Nian Jiezhen thought she was dreaming when she heard that familiar voice. She slowly opened her eyes and when she saw him, her eyes widened.

Was she hallucinating now?

The frostiness Ren s.h.i.+yuan has earlier was now gone. He quickly went and untied her feet and wrists.

He took his coat off and covered her naked upper body with it before he carefully pulled her into a hug.

He was filled with anger. Not just anger towards Daniel Wu but also to himself. If only he came earlier, he could have saved her before Daniel Wu could torture her like this.

"s.h.i.+... s.h.i.+yuan...?" Nian Jiezhen's raspy voice was heard.

Why... Why was he here?

But seeing him there, feeling the warmth of his hug made her feel safe, and just like that, tears flowed down her eyes like a dam.
