"Tell them to get down from the horses, we'll walk from now on" Adriana said to her Captains who were riding beside her.
"We'll actually go through the forest?" Sophie asked doubtfully
"I guess it's a mission of the Church of Life?" Edward said mysteriously as he looked at the carriage which was following them.
"It can't be helped, since I was asked by my teacher personally. This is a chance at the same time to discover what's wrong with this place" the princess repied as she sighed

"What a strange place?" Vladimir murmured as he dismounted his horse. One of the magicians who was nearby, couldn't help than open his mouth when he heard him.
"It's actually famous though..."
The silver haired youth turned his head to the direction of the voice only to see a young man around 18 years old looking back at him.
"Don't talk to him Hanks"
"Yeah, he is that b.a.s.t.a.r.d who insulted the honor of our Order"
Two of the magicians who were walking by the side of the man who was named Hanks spoke hurriedly upon seeing their friend interacting with the outcast of their division. Hanks was similar to John in the fact that both of them had average appearances, but unlike the 14 years old boy, he was a person who was very popular among the knights in Company A. Hearing the comments of the two people beside him, made him to talk to them with a strict voice
"Eric, Claudia, both of you stop it. For how long do you plan on holding grudges with him?" his voice then became louder as if he wanted for anyone from his division to hear him
"Listen! Don't forget on where you have pledged your swords. If our liege and our Captain don't have problems with him, who do you think you are to doubt their decisions?" seeing that he had the attention of the surrounded knights, he continued
"We will cross the Forest of the Lost Memories, I am sure you have also realised that too, by now... This is the final obstacle that prevent us from returning to our home. If allying with that young man over there means that I can see my fiancée faster or that I can protect more of my comrades in the battle, then what else do I need? I don't think that you are different, are you?" Hank shouted loudly. Seeing the agreement on his comrades faces he walked slowly towards Vladimir with a smile.
"Vladimir right? My name is Hanks d' Anderson. You see.. The Forest of The Lost Memories is an infamous place with lots of stories about it's existence. Many people in the past have been lost inside the fog, only to never see them again. Sometimes, we have found some, but their memories regarding of what they saw inside or how they managed to get out are missing, but don't worry, as long as you don't lose your way, you should be safe, especially when there are so many people here" he said with a laugh
"Doesn't that mean that even if you are lost, you still have a hope to return?" Vladimir asked innocently
"It is better to die if you are lost, if you want my opinion. There were cases in which the people who were found went missing for 20, sometimes even 30 years... The most of them went mad upon finding out that the members of their families were dead or that their lovers had already been married with children" Hanks replied fearfully
"That really sounds scary.... Thank you a lot Sir Anderson. I will be careful" Vladimir said greatfully to the young man
"Just call me Hanks.. My t.i.tle is only that of a Knight after all. Seeing your capability in the duel, I can only say that it's only a matter of time before you surpra.s.s me" Hanks said as he shook his head..
*********
John was watching his brother with interest, when a voice suddenly interrupted him
"Are you surpsised?" He didn't need to check to see who talked to him since he was already familiar with this voice
"As expected I guess from a knight of the Empire. If it was any other country, they would have already demanded his execution" he replied to the girl. It was no one else other than his Commander, Maria de Woodmand
"Don't misunderstand.. This is an unprecedented exception. If Captain ThunderG.o.d wasn't generous or your brother wasn't so talented, he would have died before even given a chance to fight. Even your father wouldn't be able to save him" Maria said with a smile
"By the way,may I ask a question that I had for a while? I hope you won't take offence at my words"
"Speak"
"How come that First Lieutenant Wardrog is still a commoner? Doesn't his ident.i.ty as a commoner gets in his way of fulfilling his responsibilities?"
Hearing the question of the youth, Maria looked strangely at him
"I never expected this kind of question.... Well, you'll realise it soon, but not every n.o.ble is like me or Sophie. There are many people who don't look favorably at the commoners, more so when a commorer is mixed-blood. Luckily, Jason's achievements are not something that can be suppressed easily. It's only a matter of time before they promote him. If it wasn't for Bryan, he would have already been knighted long ago.... This is something that has already been recognised by everyone in the Order, that's why his position is so high"
"Is Sir Bruce an extremist? No..... It's impossible for the son of a Duke to be so narrow minded. A grudge maybe?"
The black haired girl looked at the youth with amazement
"You really should take care of what you say..... You could be beheaded for these words. That being said, I am kinda surprised of your evaluation of him, especially since you have already encoutered him. "
"It seems that my experiences have already become known" John replied with a wry smile
"Well, well... Don't blame me. After all, I have become interested in you from the first time I met you" she said seductively as she moved her body closer to him. Seeing the youth taking instictively a step behind she let out a satified smile
"If you blushed, it would be perfect... As for what you said earlier, you are correct. According to my sister, when Jason was still a squire, Bryan wanted him to become his follower. It was unfortunate that he was a big fan of Baron ThunderG.o.d. It seems he had saved his life when he was a child"

'What an amazing man! From a squire to a First Lieutenant. Bruce's eyesight is also impressive considering that he discovered his talent so early'
"Attention to all units! We will start entering in the forest now. Form a square around the carriage. Make sure to have visibility at the people around you..." a loud voice was heard.
"A square? Would't it be better if we moved in lines?" John asked doubtfully
"If it wasn't for the fog... Well you'll see it with your own eyes" She answered and then turned her attention at her division
"Ok guys hurry up! Let's finish with this and go home! If anyone of you dares to become lost, then make sure not to be found or else I'll beat you to death!"
