Dionysus had arrived in the morning to prepare our clothes and breakfast at the small white wrought iron café table and chairs of the cosy sunroom that was just beyond the gla.s.s sliding doors.
I was too starved to be mindful of my messy eating as I scoffed cheese croissants and other sweet pastries down my gob, finis.h.i.+ng off my breakfast with a warm cup of milk tea that left a cream moustache across my lip.
"Yum" I thought, licking my lips and flinched at Leinard's hearty chuckles. "Oops. Was I too much of a pig?"
"Don't change." Leinard responded to my thought as he leaned towards me to remove the cream with his finger and left a kiss on my cheek.
He fed me the piece of his sweet waffle that had been dangling from his fork. I had rather he fed me another one of his kisses.
With breakfast sorted, we made our way out of his room and was having a pleasant conversation in the Gold Leaf Bar sitting area when sounds of commotion coming from the adjoining dining room made us rush to the mirror panel door.
I instinctively recoiled, using the mirror door I was opening as a s.h.i.+eld from the vase that went flying towards me.
The vase smashed to the polished wooden floor near the entrance threshold, scattering red roses and water amongst shards of broken white porcelain before our feet. Fortunately, the door didn't shatter on my face.
"b.a.s.t.a.r.d! Go to h.e.l.l you uncouth man! We don't need your kind of charity!" I read Death's lips as he angrily yelled at Trix.
Trix responded by whipping out his guns from his hip holsters and aimed it at my brother's face.
I rushed up to Trix and high-kicked the guns out of his hands.
"What is wrong with the both of you?!" I signed.
"Famine. b.u.t.t out!" He screamed at me, so I could clearly understand his lip movements.
"You dare speak to my brother like that, you a.s.shole!" Death angrily signed back at Trix, and his next words for me. "Famine come here! We're going!"
"Um, what? Huh?" My hands clumsily agreed.
I approached Death's side and yelped as he yanked my arm to leave by the other mirror door at the opposite end of the room.
Leinard stood before this door. "Settle down gentlemen."
"You would say that being his brother. Under Section 1206, Clause 2-B of the Magism Code of Conduct and Consequence, I could press legal charges for mistreatment under refuge!" Death spoke his mind with his voice and hands.
"Suppose. Also, under the same section, Clause 2-D 4.6 states that the Facilitator is required a detailed explanation from said Refugee for any and all mistreatment claims." Leinard responded in like.
Death looked shocked. Obviously, Leinard's knowledge of the clause had thrown him for a loop. He closed his eyes and counted his breathing to calm down.
When he opened his eyes, he saw Leinard's cool gesture to take a seat at the oblong burnished redwood table behind us.
"Pfft. All hot air and no..." Trix sarcastically started to say and found his voice silenced by Leinard's incantation.
"You will get your voice back when you calm down." Leinard coolly scolded his big brother, ignoring his fits and protests.
Death gave a weak smile at Leinard's control of the situation. He sighed and nodded his thanks to him.

I sat next to Death. Trix and Leinard a.s.sumed seats opposite us from the table
"Now. Please explain why we walked into a heated domestic between yourselves." Leinard asked Death, continuing to ignore Trix's insistent gestures to voice his side first.
Death explained of his story that began with Trix's whisper into his ear the night before back at the D-Train platform room.
He had whispered that I needed to be loved by Leinard in order to use his Sagaport skill and locate a truth of my new power.
Obviously, Death hated the idea, but he was aware of what a Sagaport skill was from his archiving duties. Feeling guilty that he may be a cause due to the experiment, and seeing that I looked excited by the idea, he reluctantly agreed.
The furthest they reached was the Gold Leaf Bar area, where Trix poured him a stiff drink. That was the start of the arguments. Especially when they became honest and heated with each other the more drinks they downed.
Somewhere along the way, Trix did something that caused Death to punch him. Death wasn't spilling on what it was. It seems they were too drunk to remember what they had argued about when they woke. They were prepared to apologise to each other and bury hatchets when Trix put his foot in his mouth again.
"What was all this charity stuff about?" I asked Death.
"He said that Famine can play Courtesan Madam for lonely knights as a compensation for being under the knight's care." Death gave Trix a nasty snarl.
"Courtesan Madam? What's that?" My hands innocently asked the question.
"Velvet Rose Black Lace Edition. Sealed Section, Page 14." Death's coolly answered.
"What?! No way in h.e.l.l! That's disgusting!" I rose to my feet with outrage. My hands going wild. "Those see-through negligees are for dames!"
Leinard sat back to calm his onset seething. He mumbled an incantation through his teeth to grant Trix's voice back.
"I didn't mean it like that." Trix instantly defended his innocent. "I meant that he'd look good in a maid uniform or courtesan kimono when serving drinks. You know, like a Madam."
"Trix can you be any more tacky than you already are?" I ended my signing with a rude finger.
He flashed me a cheesy smile.
"Shameless Captain." Death grumbled.
"Still, I wouldn't imagine that would be enough to rile you, Death. As I've seen you handle far worse situations with a cool head. Trix did something that made you lose your cool?" Leinard calmly asked my brother
Death blushed and looked away.
"I'm done here." He rose for the exit. "I'll get a mop to clean up the mess."
He left the room before anyone could call him back.
"Me too. I'm b.u.g.g.e.red." Trix rose and found himself blocked by me.
"What did you do to my brother?" I dared the question to his face.
"None of your beeswax." He knocked me out of the way and left the room.
"I think I understand now." Leinard sighed and flashed me a weak smile. "It's alright. They'll both come around."
"I'm sorry about what he said regarding you. I'll make sure he has repented later today."
I gulped at the sinister tone to his voice when he said those words in my mind.
His tone changed when he approached me and calmly ushered me out of the room.
I remembered the nikiaku ball magically tacked to my hand and ran off to look for Death.
