"Is that Death's?" I gulped.
It stayed in one spot, not appearing to move away.
Leinard moved to lie next to me. He was panting feverishly.
I winched at the jarring pain I felt to my hips. My lower region throbbed and ached like crazy. Regardless, I shuffled into a sitting position, so I could examine the blue ball of power better.
It was beautiful, with an intricate fracture pattern that formed a crescent moon outline and images of a galaxy surrounding it.
"I have to contain it within a Nikiaku Ball, otherwise those memories of your brother's will be lost."
I groaned. Those items were rare finds.
Leinard rose and walked to the library area of his room, grabbing a dressing robe from a nearby coat hanger at the same time.
He wrapped the robe around him and began searching along the middle shelf, pulling out a sequence of books that made the wall transform into an image of a closet.

Within the closet on the top shelf was a small wooden box with Sacred Word carvings all around it.
Finding my strength, I gingerly left the bed and covered myself with my robe from the floor.
"You've got to be kidding me." I gasped at the sight of a smooth and clear zirconia marble sitting snugly inside the wooden box Leinard opened to show me.
It was an unused Nikiaku Ball.
He approached the blue energy ball and held the nikiaku before it, muttering an incantation.
The ball crackled and hissed with lightening that struck the nikiaku in many places to create fracture lines all over it.
Leinard winced and held the nikiaku tighter as lightening struck his fingers like it was trying to dislodge the item from his grasp.
In a brief moment, the power ball was gone, rather it appeared within the nikiaku ball before fading into a cracked, dirty cloud texture.
He said another incantation when he dropped the ball into my open hand.
I gasped at the heavy, sticky feeling to my palm.
"Give this to your brother. The ball won't leave your hand until you're able to hand it over to him."
I shook my hand, rubbed it against the head board, but the ball wouldn't budge. Fine. I was going to see him soon anyway.
My mouth involuntarily let out a yawn. I realised I had barely slept and it was already into morning.
Leinard led me back to bed and ordered me to sleep.
"I'll wake you when it's time for training." He kissed my forehead and locked me into my sleep position with a cuddle.
