The dormitory living room.
Wu Jin ran out joyfully. He was about to make a quick turn around to enter big brother’s room when a dark shadow suddenly loomed in front of him.
In the faint light of the night, it seemed as though he could see a frown, a hand that was beating unconsciously on the tea table, and the little Pterosaur with its head askew and eyes sleepy beside him…
He turned his head over slowly.
Wu Jin pasted himself up against the wall, “!!! Cap, captain…”
Zoe acknowledged him and beckoned for Wu Jin to come over. He spoke in a deep voice, “I keep thinking back and forth and feel that something’s wrong.”
Wu Jin sat down nervously, his mind blank. It felt extremely like he was being caught and interrogated.
Zoe: “You came just in time. I want to hear your thoughts.”
The little Pterosaur jumped into Wu Jin’s arms, looking sleepy and wanting hugs.
Wu Jin hugged the Pterosaur, rubbing a palm over the slightly cool wing membranes and finally made up his mind.
If he had the courage to fall in love, then he had to take out the courage to admit it! Wu Jin took a deep breath––
Zoe: “Little Witch, there must be something wrong with the next elimination match. What do you think?”
Wu Jin almost toppled over onto the tea table, “!!!”
Zoe said solemnly, “In the fifth elimination match, 180 go in and 100 come out. The knockout rate is almost 50%. In the end, both luck and strength are equally important. Especially for the last few rounds where it’s 50 into 20, 20 into 10. Even S-level trainees can’t guarantee that they can avoid falling into traps every game.”
Wu Jin nodded and glanced imperceptibly at the big boss’s door. His thoughts were elsewhere, “… The next match is an indoor compet.i.tion…”
Zoe nodded and continued to sit where he was, staring out at the North Tower in the distance under the moonlight. Just when Wu Jin was about to grasp the opportunity to leave, he gestured for Wu Jin to look at the lawn beneath the tower.
The hardworking robots had carried a mult.i.tude of large and small flower pots onto the lawn over the course of the entire evening.
“Look at the flowerbed belowk2013;k2013;are there any hidden patterns, any possibility that it might be suggesting something to the contestants?” Zoe mused.
Wu Jin had no choice but to stretch out his head and look down. He could only see a general outline in the darkness of the night.
However, Wu Jin didn’t agree with Zoe’s conjecture. The Crosson Show’s clues were either hidden in a ‘high level way’ between dense lines of text, or stuck up boldly on a billboard. In general, the most common message a flowerbed could hold was ‘Welcome, visitors’––
Wu Jin froze suddenly.
He quickly turned on the terminal and adjusted it to the camera mode. He zoomed in as far as he could and clicked the flowerbed in the distance before enlarging the outline.
Zoe stared closely at Wu Jin’s movements.
A line of unfinished writing slowly appeared. Wu Jin narrowed his eyes, “Welcome… Hy… All… Instructors and trainees…”
Zoe paused abruptly, “Hy what?”
Wu Jin: “Hyacin…”
Zoe quickly completed the rest of the word, his expression shocked, “The Hyacinth Show!”
Even before Wu Jin could take out his terminal and perform a search, Zoe had already called everyone from White Moonlight to gather together on the balcony within seconds. It was midnight, so Cesar and his girlfriend were dawdling over their call, and Wen Lin was in his bedroom watching a show. After the team gathered together, the balcony door closed––
Wu Jin absentmindedly s.h.i.+fted his gaze away.
The moon was perfect and bright, and the night breeze was just right.
If he’d stayed there lying on the bed obediently and hadn’t gone out to make trouble, he might have ended up a little closer to the big boss. After all, there would have only been one wall between them…
Zoe quickly announced the results of their investigation. “In the next round, the visiting guests are the Hyacinths.”
Caesar and Wen Lin were both shocked, “What?”
Wu Jin found that he was the only one amongst his teammates who didn’t understand… That wasn’t right, he seemed to always be the one who lacked this common knowledge.
Zoe turned to Wu Jin and explained, “In the fifth elimination match, the number of partic.i.p.ants isn’t just 180. It’s 360. No wonder the North Tower was emptied out–-the Crosson Show is going to do a collaboration with the Hyacinth Show.”
Wu Jin: “What collaboration––”
Zoe and Caesar replied at the same time, “The women’s league!”
Wu Jin’s eyes opened wide. The first reaction in his mind was to think of the group of female trainees from his old company prior to his transmigration. They were playful and lovely, gentle and quiet, mature and intelligent, could all sing and dance––
That wasn’t right, this was a female survival show group!
“!!” Wu Jin quickly came back to his senses. Zoe and Wen Lin were already in the midst of a fast exchange.
“The Hyacinth Show’s traffic flow this season is quite considerable…”
“The program group has mainly focused on heating up the story of two G.o.ddesses who love and hate each other––Silver Thread Roll’s and Azure People’s Entertainment’s two trainees. Haven’t they also just finished their fourth round?”
“Yes. There are several players there who can’t be underestimated.” Wen Lin saw that Wu Jin looked blank and turned around to explain further.
“There aren’t that many women in the survival shows, but they aren’t inferior to men––in fact, their commercial value from endors.e.m.e.nts and their ability to suck in money is likely higher.”
“The Hyacinth Show is a female trainee survival show. Their fighting styles are flexible, and their tactical styles are quite distinctive. They can run faster than dinosaurs even in high heels, and also,” Wen Lin thought of something, “The artistic and comprehensive ornamentation of the Hyacinth Show is definitely undisputedly the top tier in the industry.”
Wu Jin understood. Compared with the Crosson Show trainees who didn’t pay any attention to their image, the women’s group could definitely be called a ‘feast for the eyes’.
Caesar, on the other hand, was whining, “Ah, I’m a big grown man. How can I take action against young maidens…”
Zoe and Wen Lin exchanged glances, and the White Moonlight sniper added, “It might be a young maiden who can lay you flat with one punch.”
Before Caesar could dig his heels in and retort, Zoe gestured for him to shut up, “Alright… there is indeed a real gap in physical endurance between male and female trainees. Don’t be the first to attack unless you have to, because otherwise the first post in the Azure Edge forums tomorrow will be that you are stepping on girls to make your debut.”
“Come, let’s all discuss tactics!”
The four of them quickly gathered close. Zoe mused, “The women’s group…”
He suddenly turned to look at Wu Jin.
The other two also turned their heads to look at Wu Jin.
Wu Jin was confused: “???”
Zoe slapped a hand on the balcony railing, “Okay, it’s settled. Plan A, Little Witch is in charge of seduction!”
Wu Jin seemed to be about to faint, but Caesar had already put forth the second plan, “Plan B, have our team captain and Little Witch go up together to seduce them!”
Zoe: “Nonsense! Stop kicking up a fuss. Little Witch, remember, there are many female group trainees who walk the lofty and cold G.o.ddess path. Their faces are cold, but their hearts are pa.s.sionate. They especially like people like you who are active and bouncing around, positive and enthusiastic… Caesar!”
Caesar immediately came to attention, “Here!”
Zoe: “Give us a demonstration.”
Caesar immediately showed a fool’s forced cold smile. He held two remote controls in his hands and chuckled as he handed them to Wu Jin, “Little Witch, your brother will give you a demonstration. Cough, little sister, there are two guns here. Could it be that destiny is here waiting for us?”
Caesar took back one of the remotes, “Take a good look, there’s only one left. Little sister, there’s a gun here. Is it G.o.d’s will for me to carry it and protect you?”
Caesar placed the last remote in his pocket and was now empty handed, “Little sister, it’s been so long, and we haven’t found a single gun! Lean on me, and I’ll protect you with my flesh and blood!
Wu Jin couldn’t bear it anymore, “Brother Caesar…”
Zoe laughed loudly from the side, “Enough, though I do remember one thing. Little Witch, you’re on a Federal work visa that needs to be renewed every once in a while. Obtaining a green card is still a ways away, and it’s better to get naturalized via a marriage certificate…”
There was a slight noise from the balcony outside.
Zoe froze and slowly turned back, coming face to face with the expressionless Wei s.h.i.+ who’d come out of his bedroom to pour a cup of water in the living room.
“……!!” Zoe forced out a greeting. His first reaction was that he couldn’t allow Contestant Wei to learn about White Moonlight’s military secrets.
Zoe quickly put on a fake caring look as he turned to look at Wu Jin, “It’s already so late, Little Witch, how come you can’t sleep?”
Wu Jin hadn’t even reacted yet when Wen Lin, who had a good tacit understanding with Zoe also added, “Yes, yes, Little Witch, how come you can’t sleep? Don’t worry, everyone is here…”
Wen Lin kicked Caesar with his foot.
Caesar covered up his b.u.t.tocks and grinned to reveal his teeth, “Big brother, brother, I also came to accompany you and chat…”
Wu Jin was caught by surprise by the three pairs of big hands that took turns patting him on the shoulder and back. His gaze was desperate as it threaded through the crowd in the living room towards the dark bedroom––
Wei s.h.i.+’s gaze was indecipherable.
It seemed that the man had just taken a bath. He was wearing a loose robe, and the lines of his muscles were revealed to the eye from the sleeves and the collar of the robe, his shadowed outline like a heart-stopping sculpture. He was clearly cold and aloof, but the mix was enough to easily cause Wu Jin’s heart to speed up.
Wei s.h.i.+ looked at him and nodded before turning to go.
The small curls wilted instantly. Caesar was in high spirits and wanted to continue the meeting, but Zoe suddenly looked back at Wu Jin and said with feeling, “Our new roommate… has a very impressive temperament! It’s no wonder he became popular so quickly. When we get back, let’s give Caesar a new haircut…”
