Waking up is a weird part of the human experience. One second you're in a dream, then everything is black and then your back to where you were before in reality.
Weird stuff.
As I woke up, now on the 12th day, I saw a certain Neko standing over me with her fists planted on her hips.

"...yes? Can I help you?"
"We need food." She replied.
"We have apples." Was my counter.
"We need things other than apples for variety. Like, oh, I don't know. MEAT."
Ah. Okay yeah, a diet of apples and random nuts is not the greatest now that I think of it. At least I had spices to mix with it? But uh... to hunt I would need to use magic most likely... but WindBlade is about the only spell that would leave anything left from a rabbit.
I felt something soft hit my leg, and looked down to see Fenrir poking at me with his nose. As he saw he had my attention, he took a few steps back, and... how to describe?
There were all these small motions, like a flick of the ears, a specific wag of the tail, a way he turned his head or tightened a muscle. They were all such small movements, yet for some reason it was like he was speaking a unique sign language, and I instinctively knew what he said.
"Apparently Fenrir is on that good situation. Thanks dude, you're the best."
I got an acknowledgement by way of a flick of his ear, as he turned and left, my eye momentarily catching on his right leg. The smoke seemed to extend further down before dissipating into the air.
I blinked it away, and refocused on something else I hadn't noticed until after the battle 2 days ago.
It was a goblin, made of pitch black shadow. Like 3D, with all the features, but no change in color or shade. It wasn't particularly reflective either, so it looked like a hole in the world shaped as a goblin.
This was Shade, which you may remember is a spell or skill of k.u.miko's. She can summon one of the dead as a shade under her control, but only one right now.
As to why not the Hobgoblin? Well... apparently beings that have evolved are harder to affect with such spells than a being that has not. Even if that evolution doesn't make them stronger than you.
Cause some evolutions don't necessarily just go "more stats" or "stronger". Some beings actually get weaker after evolving, but gain a camouflage ability for example. It depends what kind of path you choose.
Hopefully when I evolve, I'll get more Mana. My regeneration of it is FANTASTIC, but my actual amount kinda feels inadequate when a random evolved GOBLIN can smack me outta juice.
I walked over to the Tengu in question. "Hey k.u.miko?"
"Yes my lord?"
...I swear I never told them to start calling me that okay! Don't look at me that way!
"*ahem*, do you have confidence in defeating several invaders such as the one I fought last time?" I wanted to know how reliably I could expect the Dungeon to be defended without me.
"I would have difficulty with one on my own as they wouldn't allow plague feathers to pierce them, causing the poison effect. More specifically, my curse-type Magic's such as Ghost Arrow are less effective if they can't make contact."
'Agh... that's how it is huh...'
"However, I've no doubt that Isen could handle 2 with ease."
"...huh?" Wait... with EASE? I know Isen is made for close combat, unlike me, and has actual blade mastery, also unlike me, and... actually yeah he's way more qualified for a warrior vs warrior fight.
"How many with all 3 of you?" I was in need of the answer now.
"Well if Touka is healing Isen, then he could take on perhaps 4? With me it might be 5. I'm more built to take on many weaker targets rather than a single strong one. That's Isen's expertise."
Huh. Alrighty, makes enough sense. I'm just going to figure out the best ways to get spells past that d.a.m.n Blood Aura, cause if spells exist, and are considered higher quality, there's no reason why I can't even puncture that freaking thing. After all, magic is apparently considered higher standard than Blood Aura. Even if they're both magic.
"Alrighty, well after Fenrir gets back, we are going to smoke some meat, and hang it up so we'll be stocked for the next few days."
Luna looked over. "Why do we need food for the next few days?"
Everyone's attention turned to me, so I said "I'll explain once Fenrir returns."
I looked at my secret trap, the Dungeon upgrade I've told no one about.
Poison Tree Discharge: Modifies Apple Trees on the hill to store up Carbon Monoxide that can be released and contained in that floor to kill anything not guarded against it.(Dungeon Trap)
As long as my enemy is unaware and doesn't use wind magic to clear it away, they are SCREWED. Ahahaha! I feel like as a Dungeon Boss, I'm choosing a very cruel direction. People expect a small underground area filled with monsters, you fight a miniboss, kill a few more monsters, then get to the main boss who laughs, condemning to his scorn.
Meanwhile, I'm just chucking the boss(me), and all the mini bosses at anyone who sets foot past the door, all at once.
Don't think it's fair to fight all the bosses simultaneously? Too bad!
Also I kinda don't have any guardians that are "normal monster" material. I would say Fenrir, but he's actually pretty strong near as I can tell. Maybe not as strong as the Tengu or me by any means, but... oh I don't want my new fluffy puppy to die okay!
After awhile, Fenrir came and went, gathering quite a few rabbits, as I thought through the feasibility of making a bow. Finally he gathered quite a bit, and we skinned and smoked them above our fire pit.
Luna and k.u.miko looked over, curious, while Touka attentively watched the meat, though I could feel her attention was split to me as well. Fenrir sat down next to me and I could swear he rolled in shoulders in a way that said 'explain what you said to them earlier'.
"So we currently have a mild issue to our west, but our defenses right now so far seem to be sufficient for that. So I've been thinking... I might leave for a few days and visit the demon on the mountain to the north, the forgotten G.o.d."
This sent a few reactions through the crowd, Touka near fumbling a skewer, Isen asking "Is that wise my lord?" and k.u.miko raising an enigmatic eyebrow. Fenrir understood my reasoning and had known beforehand, so he had little reaction, while Luna had an interesting change from an expression screaming 'are you crazy?' to a confused curiosity, to a realization of what that demons relations.h.i.+p to me is, and then understanding.
Meanwhile the lake had a few sudden ripples, likely Aqua feeling a bit disturbed as well.
'The Dungeon-born residents don't seem to like me leaving...'
'Speaking of leaving...' "Hey Luna!"
Her head shot back up. "Huh?"
"Are you going to keep going to wherever you were fleeing to before? I don't expect you to stay forever, so when should I expect you to move on to the next place?"
