'FoxFire, WindBlade, Detonation, and Freezing!'
I let out 4 whistles of slightly different tune, the 4 spells materializing and firing out in turn.
The FoxFires sent 5 fireb.a.l.l.s at one while I shot a single WindBlade at the other, and as it went the 2nd blade slotted within the first turned 90 degrees, creating a cross of wind to cut into it.
'That's... new. What the heck?'
The Detonation flew between them, to explode and throw them away by impact, while Freezing was held to try to freeze them to the ground after Detonation threw them.
'Ah... strategies... if only my luck stat wasn't 0...'
Yeah it did not go well.
First off, one just took the FoxFires like a boss(every a.s.shole keeps stealing my job description!), and just used this yellow aura to absorb all that... which means that the durability of these guys is probably insane to withstand how much mana you'd have to put in to tank 5 fireb.a.l.l.s made from the "intent of the cosmos".
Yikes. I'm a little scared. The other just took the WindBlade on his aura, that one doesn't surprise me as WindBlade is *cough-cough*, pathetic, *cough-cough*.
Detonation DID push them away from me, but they didn't fall all the way over as one stabbed their blade into the ground as leverage to return to their feet, while the other merely flipped with the force
'How sharp is the bronze on that sword-stick anyways...'
I sighed, as they drew their blade up from the ground, and stood in a ready stance.
"Alright... let's get a bit more serious."
I pushed off my foot, charging forward while unsheathing the short-sword that gave me false hope, and readying it.
Held in my right hand, at my left waist, as I closed in on the one to my left, and swung it diagonally from down-left, to upper-right!
The puppet caught the blade against its sword, and pushed it away by cleanly letting my blade slide off the lacquered wood, after taking the impact on the bronze.
'Dammit, okay, that was Isen-style impressive!'
I danced back as it struck, feeling a part of me that was both mine and the Dungeon's, and knowing it was whatever part of this brain or body that held a.n.a.lyze.
It was scanning, and suddenly a pain struck through my head, as a wave of SOMETHING felt like it hit me, like a wall of water, and the world separated into almost... layers?
I dodged to the right, rolling as Crisis Detection warned me, mixing with all the signals screaming in my head.
"AAAAAGH!" The pain intensified, eyes tearing up as everything ripped apart inside my head.
I jumped away, throwing spells around as I clutched my head, vision splitting between the normal-color view, and the vision of mana and energies, and a third one, one Black-and-White, with scales of brightness showing things I couldn't understand right now.
Luna looked at the situation. 'What's going on? He's gonna get killed!'
She chanted out, summoning a whip of water to distract the puppets. Fenrir ran over and tackled another, then grabbed me by the collar and dragged me away as Luna's whip thrashed wildly, creating a "wall" of thras.h.i.+ng water.
Luna felt panicked. In all honesty, c.r.a.p kept happening, but Kyoku was pretty dependable and capable. While there WAS a lot of running, he was always on the front lines.
Seeing his back in front of her, as he always placed himself before everyone else, right in the thick of it... it had become rea.s.suring without her noticing.
So to see him near-collapse for no reason, and shout in pain, was very concerning.
It felt like a spike of hot iron hot her chest as she saw him fall all of the sudden.
'What is this! Never mind, okay, focus!'
She pulled her concentration to its limit, holding the water-whip as she cast a barrier spell, and as her attacks stopped and were replaced by a barrier, the puppets once again froze, mid-stance.
"Kyoku!" She yelled as soon as the puppets froze, and ran to the downed Foxkin.

"What's wrong?"
I could barely hear anything, as the piercing pain became a buzzing that consumed all other sound, and my vision continued to schism between layers of reality, seeing the world of color with Luna, Fenrir, and the room one second, the next seeing everything, the mana and energies in all the objects and people.
Then there was nothing but this blank gray, and the walls had black s.h.i.+fting texture to them, and every object had an outline in white.
I looked at Luna, and saw an imprint in a humanoid shape of a bright white light, with bits of black sealed into multiple beads of darkness strung along it.
Fenrir was a black outline, filled with white, with black strings to a core in the imprint of his chest(I think? Hard to see exactly in that grayscale vision), and his smoke leg was full blacked out.
My vision dropped to my shortsword, and inside of it was a black sphere within the grey blade, outlined in white.
The black sphere seemed to pulse as if it had a heartbeat, and momentarily the pain disappeared as curiosity filled me, but my mind once again fell into pain after a mere second.
My vision started to turn black at the edges, and everything seemed to slow down.
In between Luna and Fenrir, as the black slowly drew into my sight from the edges, in this slowed-down-time, someone stepped into view.
'How did they... get here?'
The pain faded as the black came in.
It was a man... in... jeans?
My mind focused. What the h.e.l.l would someone in this world be doing with jeans?
I focused in on him, and yeah, he had jeans, sneakers; h.e.l.l, he had a Walking Dead t-s.h.i.+rt!
Dark brown hair, and thin gla.s.ses that he looked through, about maybe in the range of 22-28 years old? I'd guess 26.
His eyes stuck out to me though... they were the brightest, most clearest green if ever seen.
He looked at me. "Ah I've come too early. Ooh, you're not looking great... oh I see!"
'What the h.e.l.l is this guy talking about?'
"Alright, sorry bout this. I bent the dimensions to check on something, but kinda caught you up in that. I didn't expect a mortal in this realm to be able to feel the distortions of s.p.a.ce... oops. Sorry chap."
'The... wha...?'
"Ah! I'll help you out how about? Yeah! Let's see... wow there's a lot wrong with you actually... holy h.e.l.ls! That's a soul! And b.l.o.o.d.y h.e.l.l there's more sealed away? No wonder your body is breaking down!"
'Can... somebody tell me... who this psychotic idiot is?'
"Not nice to call names you know. Anyways, I should take SOME responsibility, right...?"
The strange man dissolved into like that flowed through the air into me.
'Huh?' The pain was gone, instead I felt a stuffy sensation, as if my whole body was stuffed with cotton. My vision stabilized, the views of reality, energy, and that strange grayscale somehow balancing into a single worldview bit-by-bit. It was as if reality were the ocean, or layers of gla.s.s stained with scenes, and I could see all the layers of water or gla.s.s at once. The coexisted, but all 3 world views were visible to me simultaneously. Then... I dunno how else to put this? My mind... split? I could feel it as if my consciousness had been cut in half. Both sides of this split me could think, and communicate, as one began to process more and more, the other questioning, as my mind split yet again into four, now I could feel the mind of the OTHER, whoever or whatever he was, splitting mine apart. "Here you go, I'll give you a crash course in soul-split mult.i.tasking! I'm pretty sure that hasn't been practiced in this dimension... then I gotta keep looking for the source of the distortion in fate... now I'm helping this poor fellow I knocked about in s.p.a.ce." Several pieces of me individually asked 'You did this?' While a few others began internalizing the process, figuring out how to cause this phenomenon again. Knowledge that wasn't mine came in, as my body swung upright, Luna and Fenrir surprised as my suddenly-still form stood up. Darkness gathered around my hands as thick as smoke, and spread to lightly cover the puppets. They reacted, charging at me, cutting into the barrier. But it was a whole new situation now. One piece of me internalized the dark spell the man had pushed through me. Info: Create clouds of the dark element that drain the vitality and energy of something gradually over time.> Surprisingly it was easy to understand, as it was the idea and intent of Healing Light, reversed. Healing Light used the concepts of the light element to give vitality and energy to heal, while Draining Darkness stole it away. As they charged, another piece of me took Metal Decay, and added the new bits of knowledge about Dark Spells it had gleaned as well, making it so water and air gave oxygen, fire provided energy for the reaction, and darkness leached the energy defending it. This improved Metal Decay essentially would work even though blood aura to an extent, as the darkness would interfere with basic protection mana. However if it were a blood aura using elemental energies... agh. Darkness cant eat everything you know. Or maybe it can. I suppose I'll learn. The bra.s.s hooks were my target, as the bronze would be thicker and more noticed. Plus with no joints... ehehehe, you understand. I've talked to myself before, but now I had duplicate clone-me's all within my head who could talk to each other! I'm no longer crazy! As I moved forward, my arm came up, shortsword in hand, striking and blocking as my other arm controlled by a different me used a saber of flame to ward off the other. Both my arms moved independently under two minds, while another 2 held the spells of Metal Decay and Draining Darkness, and 2 more began to take action. One controlled my body's leg movement to specifically be balanced and easily flow between the puppets, while the other used Detonation to a varied degree, knocking their limbs askew with impacts absorbed by Aura, probably why the untrained me's(us? We?) had such an easy time in sword work against perfect puppets. 'What the heck is even happening?! How???' is what the last few us(me's? We's? Agh this is hard grammar!) thought! "Please. Just wait till I show you this next bit. I've noticed you got a bit of energy about you reminiscent of a being of ice, born of fire. Your dual natures of those two elements will like this."
